belief is fine on DWARKA but what about the explanation of city of gold and diamond .is the city loosing its charm is sufficient explanation?
Hi Ashok,
It is said that even Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj had throne (Simhasan) made of gold and he had sword gifted by Tulja Bhavani. After Shivaji Maharaj’s death his throne was submerged in a well in Raigad. The sword is still in London Museum but there is no clue of the golden throne. Does that mean Shivaji Maharaj or his palace or throne is just matter of belief? Is gold the only proof? If we cannot find a throne from 500 years back how can we find gold from Dwarka which existed 5000 years back?
India was known “Sone ki Chidiya” (Golden Sparrow) in past. But it was looted by Mughals and British. Please read this link about recent findings:
http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/article2488111.ece
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Gairsoppa
and you will understand how much gold and jewels would have been looted. Also last year we saw that Padmanabha Temple in Kerala has around 1 Lac Crore of wealth. If they had not hidden it, everything would have been looted by British and people like you would have asked “What is the proof that Padmanabha Temple had so much wealth? It is just belief !!!”
Excellent reply. very nice.
Gold and dimonds of Dwarka ? Krishna brought all the treasure of Dwarka and sprinkled them in the
Gita. Nothing left , except some earthen pots etc as people of that time preffered to simple living and high thinking.
but why were gold and jewels not found?
Hare Krishna does your site have a podcast available on iTunes? It is good way to share audio
Hardly any archaeological find anywhere in the world when dug out is seen in the state mentioned in the texts that talk about it when it was in its prime. This is a natural and inevitable effect of the forces of nature and time acting over millennia; they often take a heavy toll in ways that the human mind can’t even conceive.
Moreover, researchers like Dr Rao feel that much more is likely to be found if further underwater exploration is undertaken off the coast of Dwarka; governmental permission and funding are also needed. Most important need, of course, is of dynamic researchers.
Rather than asking why the jewels are not found, why not take the initiative, become a researcher and be the first to find the jewels?
