Why should we beleive in the Vedas?

Because the vedic wisdom works and works in a way that often our contemporary scientific knowledge does not work. The scientific knowledge has led to a significant ability to manipulate and control the external world and that is resulted in technology, but the modern science is grievously incapable of controlling the inner world. of regulating and harnessing and channelizing our emotions. and that is why even time of technological wizardry, we see mental diseases, whether they be depression, stress or hypertension or suicidal urges or what ever are rampant increasing, and the development of the modern technology and technocentric culture tends to increase this more and more, so wherever the technocentric culture is there , the mind’s problems are all the more, according to world Health Organization, the mental problems are going to be the biggest health challenges in the 21st century. Sp the vedic wisdom has many aspect, there is knowledge of material technology, there is knowledge of the spiritual world. from our point of view the knowledge that will most benefit us, is the knowledge that enables us to gain control of our inner lives, to channelize and harmonize our emotions with our values and our ambitions. So this is something which is a serious deficiency in our modern technocentric civilization, and that’s why world over , people are turning over to the wisdom in the vedic tradition and meditation chanting yoga , are all gaining increasing popularity. and the vedic literature don’t demand blind faith. they ask to reasonable faith, all that they ask us for is what a doctor would ask for, take this medicine , see if works and if it works then continue it and if it does not work work then discontinue it. Similarly the vedic wisdom offers us the the mantra meditation and chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra ” Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama , Rama Rama Hare Hare”, as the means to disciplining and regulating our minds and we can try for ourselves and we will see that our minds will become calm and focused and then we will understand because these principles work that’s why I should put faith in it , just as I put faith in medicine because it works. To know more about the question and faith and belief, you can hear the lecture on the link over here, “tap the power of faith”.
