Why did Yudhishthira consider the wicked Dhritrashtra as a respectable elder who had to be obeyed? Why didnt he consult Krishna?

    Prabhuji,I’ve heard it before that Gambling Match doesn’t happened because Yudhisthir Maharaj,being a kshatriya cannot refuse the challenge or because he played it as it was told by Dhritarastra.
    It just happened because Krishna wanted it to happen.
    He did so to teach many lessons to the world and also to deepen pandava’s devotion in him.

    I am convinced with answer, instead of pointing out the wrong decision making, more powerful feature presented here is Maharaja tried to follow that principle of respecting elders which is widely initiated by Lord Rama himself.
