Why is Lord Shiva glorified as if he is supreme in the Bhag 8.7?

From: Keshav:

If Lord Shiva have qualities of Lord Vishnu , why not worship him as god on equal level as of Lord Vishnu ?

In Purport Of SB 8.7.21 (http://vedabase.com/en/sb/8/7/21) , Prabhupada explains “Whenever prayers for protection are offered to Lord Śiva, actually Lord Viṣṇu is indicated ”

Are there any evidences from shastra’s which hold it true ?

There are many more contradiction’s that are in subsiquent verses , In SB 8.7.23 (http://vedabase.com/en/sb/8/7/23)

” O lord, you are self-effulgent and supreme. You create this material world by your personal energy, and you assume the names Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara when you act in creation, maintenance and annihilation.”

How can lord siva create himself ? And how can he create material world ?

Again in SB 8.7.24 (http://vedabase.com/en/sb/8/7/24) , Prabhupada says , ” When Lord Śiva is worshiped as Parabrahman, the worship is meant for Lord Viṣṇu .”

Again SB 8.7.31 (http://vedabase.com/en/sb/8/7/31)

” O Lord Girīśa, since the impersonal Brahman effulgence is transcendental to the material modes of goodness, passion and ignorance, the various directors of this material world certainly cannot appreciate it or even know where it is. It is not understandable even to Lord Brahmā, Lord Viṣṇu or the King of heaven, Mahendra ”

Now Lord Vishnu is addressed as being not having full knowledge ( not understandable )

Also not to comment otherway , Srila Prabhupada have given very less purport’s to these contradicting verses , he should have explained them extensively .

Now if it is true , that whenever Lord Siva is glorified is actually Lord Vishnu who is being glorified , and this thing hold’s evidences from scripture’s than this will end the fight between Vasihnava and Shaiva 🙂

Please guide me.

If one really wants to understand the position of lord shiva ,then one should look at the statements made by lord shiva just after the prayers offered to him by the prajapatis in the following verse 8.7.40

    puṁsaḥ kṛpayato bhadre
    sarvātmā prīyate hariḥ
    prīte harau bhagavati
    prīye ’haṁ sacarācaraḥ
    tasmād idaṁ garaṁ bhuñje
    prajānāṁ svastir astu me

My dear gentle wife Bhavānī, when one performs benevolent activities for others, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, is very pleased. And when the Lord is pleased, I am also pleased, along with all other living creatures. Therefore, let me drink this poison, for all the living entities may thus become happy because of me.

Thus lord shiva even after being glorified by many prayers, shows his true intent for drinking poison, that is just to please lord vishnu ,he carries out this activity.this shows the reason behind why lord shiva is called as vaisnavanam yatha shambuh.

so rather than focusing much on the prayers offered by prajapatis ,we should try to understand the intent and devotion of lord shiva towards lord vishnu by the above verse.
