Why do we need to get rid of good reactions in addition to bad reactions?

by Chaitanya Charan dasJuly 9, 2013
Krishna says in the Bhagavad gita (9.28) “In this way you will be freed from all reactions to good and evil deeds, and by this principle of renunciation you will be liberated and come to Me.”

My question is:Why do we need to get rid of reactions to our good deeds?Surely we wish to get rid of sinful reactions to end our suffering. But how can one suffer due to his pious deeds?Don’t pious deeds serve as stepping stones in our Krishna consciousness advancement? How pious reactions are detrimental for going back to Godhead?

Your humble servant,

Sushant.
