Thank you very much for the nice answer. Gaudiya Vaishnavas have always written literature that addresses the relevant issues of the day. Chaitanya Charan Prabhu writes articles that shed new light on Bhagavad Gita verses, give fresh insights into the working of the mind, address the weeds that grow in our mind as we try to render devotional service, address common misconceptions going about in the name of science and much more. I find his articles indispensable in my own practice of devotional service. So at least for me they are most certainly required. And I am very grateful to him for writing them.
Hare Krishna, p.a.m.h.o
If simple devotion was all that ‘everybody needed’ then Gita would have been just a few shlokas. However, we see that Krishna himself is giving us extensive information, because we are so much entangled that we need intricate help and guidance to get out of bodily concept of life and self-centered propensities, therefore, we need in depth analysis and intellectual help to defeat the all-encompassing, and all powerful material energy.
In this regard, the more the help available the better. In fact, such deep understanding and explanations are not available anywhere else in the world. We should consider ourselves fortunate that we have all the help we need. The joy we get by reading how a shloka has such deep and rich inner meaning, helps us but wonder about the infinite depth of vedic wisdom.
Now somebody maybe utama adhikari and may not need so much help of sadhana, jnana, intellectual help etc but for the rest of us, the knowledge aspect is very much essential & indispensable.
Thank you very much
