What do you mean by “property”? If it means a non living thing having no feelings at all then certainly the answer is NO. Let me give you an instance of respecting and protecting the choice/interest of woman. Subhadra devi was in love with Arjuna and wanted to marry him. On the other hand her eldest brother Balarama wanted to give her marriage to Duryodhana even though Subhadra had totally disliked. Then Lord Krishna played a trick (making Arjuna abduct Subhadra) and got Subhadra married to Arjuna as Duryodhana was not Subhadra’s choice.
Then in Srimad Bhagavatam 5.5.18 Lord Rishabhadeva says ” One who cannot deliver his dependents from the path of repeated birth and death should never become a spiritual master, a husband, parent or a worshipable deity. ”
So we can find the husbands should deliver his wife and not bind her which many in the world are doing. Similarly the parents should train their daughters (and sons) in such a way that they become enlightened.
From the above examples, we can clearly find our shastras want to deliver all including women and not make the women bound.
