    Hare Krishna Prabhu
Kindly correct my below understanding if I am wrong.
I understand from this and the earlier verse that the world is an illusion and is not real. It is not only a question of being temporary. The equality of vision mentioned in the verse can arise only when we understand that it is an illusion. Because it is an illusion it is also temporary for the real is always eternal.(BG2.16)
This is also corroborated by the understanding of Creation as given in Vedic scriptures. The mind, senses and sense objects are all transformations of tan-matras (sabda, sparsa, etc), which has two fundamental qualities – avarna sakti & viksepa sakti. Since it is a partnership between the object and the mind which experiences the object, the world is not real. Our experience is nothing but the experience of the mind; because we have identified with the mind by the trick of ego we think that it is real. Thus the world is a world of names & forms.
Thus my understanding is that if one goes beyond the variety of forms (beyond the sense perception) we find that there is unity of substance. When we see the unity of substance then we can be free from duality and eventually give up the attachment to the various forms of this world.

Yes, there is unity of spiritual substance, yet there is diversity in the manifestation of that substance. And that variety, as is best appreciated through bhakti, makes attraction to the spiritual much easier and more relishable.
