The sitting places for lust which is never satiated are the senses, mind and intelligence.
Yes, but all these three are unconscious being dead matter – as is lust. So none of these are the locus of the experience of anything, including sexual pleasure
Wonderfully explained. The more we indulge in any material sense pleasure, the more the mind creates a strong connection to the material activity as a means to satisfy the adi-rasa. The only way slacken this connection is by resisting indulgence in that sort of material pleasures, while simultaneously satisfying the adi-rasa by means of spiritual activities such as serving vaishnavas, guru and the supreme lord. Gradually we can completely break the connection by the lord’s grace and also burn up all the stored impressions from our past life/lives.
When it comes to the senses, the following wisdom applies:
“Ever fed, never satisfied. Never fed, ever satisfied.”
Thanks for the comment and the rhyming sutra.
The senses do need to be fed, however, even by seekers, though under regulation (6.17 – yuktahara). eg. We all need to eat and most people will be grihasthas who have almost formed the respectable majority of humanity even in past purer times.
And bhakti does feed our senses spiritually eg Prasad.
So perhaps you may want to reword as:
“Fed materially, never satisfied. Fed spiritually, ever satisfied.”
