Do we always have to eat what we cook – does bhakti change our karma?
So I said that what you cook we must eat but if you surrender to Krishna does Krishna throw that recipe to the dustbin yeah actually whatever our past karma is Krishna takes control of the past karma and he orchestrates in such a way that it brings us closer to him it means that when a devotee is working when a devotee is functioning in the world there is the rule of law and there is the rule of law so for example there is a young man who has committed a crime and then the person is caught by the police and the police are chastising him the police may be disciplining him that is also meant for their good only but that is one kind of discipline but if the person has committed some mistake and that person's father is a young person their father or mother are chastising them how did you do that? in both cases the action may be similar there is disciplining there is chastising but there is a world of difference when the police are doing it is the rule of law when the parents are doing it is the rule of law so like that for devotees it is not that when you start practicing bhakti suddenly all problems will stop because you have surrendered to Krishna problems may still come and when those problems come what Krishna does is he takes our stockpile of karma that is there and he lets it come in a way that helps us come closer to him sometimes Krishna removes the karma entirely but the problem with that is the problem with a problem free existence is that we feel there is no need for Krishna so quite often for us it is only when we are in trouble that we feel the need for Krishna so that's why Krishna may not remove all our problems completely it is when the problems come we intensify our devotion at that time so it is not that every single action that we have done we necessarily have to go through that reaction but it is also not that we should think that just because I have surrendered to Krishna now I will have no problem no reaction will come rather we should recognize that actions have their reactions and based on this understanding that actions have reactions we become cautious in choosing our actions wisely at the same time when certain problems come in we should not think that oh all my karmic reactions are coming I don't know how much karma I have done I don't know how much sakri I am going to do rather than worrying about that we focus on Krishna Krishna is in control and Krishna will make sure that through these problems I will move closer to Him so let me stay devoted to Him so the same karmic reaction whereas say for example a materialistic person falls sick they are in pain they may scream and cry devoting call out to Krishna that calling out to Krishna it itself is purifying that is intensifying remembering Krishna taking them closer to Krishna so that way how Krishna will deal with the karmic stockpile of each person that will vary according to what is best for that person's spiritual growth and we should focus not so much on what Krishna is going to do we focus on what we can do if we focus on making the right choices ourselves we will keep moving towards Krishna and we will grow through those situations any other questions.
