Jai.
So, That’s why we are starting with the Shloka. Bhagwan, here, what is His emotion? Bhagwan Himself is telling the Shloka, with which He is protecting the mind of the Gopis. So, here, Sahajiya, this Shloka, I will have to do it in three ways.
First of all, what is this concept? What is Sahajiya? And then, what is its result? If someone becomes Sahajiya, then what is the danger of that? And, your entity is Kosh. So, how can we how can we be alert? How can we be careful? So, I will discuss the three Shlokas. First of all, What is the meaning of this Shloka, Sahajiya? So, Sahajiya means it had a positive meaning.
So, it is written in a book, which says, in Odisha, for example, Ramananda was a Sahajiya devotee. Sahajiya, at that time, it meant that those who do Bhakti naturally, those who do Bhakti naturally, they do Bhakti naturally. They have a natural love for Krishna.
So, at that time, it meant Sataratma. But, after that, due to some reasons, its meaning became Nakaratma. And, why did it happen? So, our Acharyas, even today, when we say something, if we say, You are a Sahajiya devotee.
And, they say, Thank you very much. What? Sahajiya, this is your this is your So, they are not praising you. In fact, they are warning you.
They are abusing you. So, in negative, what is it? Cheap. What does cheap mean? Cheap.
Yes. Which is over-ripe. Premature.
So, now, Sahajiya means which is very easy to take for granted. Which is very important. Which is very expensive.
It is a very cheap thing. It has a price. It has a price.
So how does it come into existence? In reality, the emotion, the emotion, in that, many times God says, you have to put your mind and you have to put your intellect both together. both together. So, what happens in reality? What happens with the mind is our emotion.
It is related to the mind. And our intellect from the intellect our reason, our logic comes. So, emotion and reason both are important.
Many times God says, you put your mind you put your intellect you put your emotion you put your emotion and your logic that is also important. So, what happens when we when we do spirituality, when we do spirituality, then if reason the logic becomes too much with emotion then its result is Mayavadi. Advaitavadi or Mayavadi.
So, what is said in Mayavadi? All emotions are illusion. In spiritual world there is no emotion. What is there in spiritual world? There is only one supreme peace.
So, in reality there is no love. Because they say, love with emotion is also an illusion. It is an illusion.
So, when when logic and reason when mind works too much and when there is no place for emotions then it becomes Advaitavadi. In this way, people become impersonal. If we talk about today, there is no Saumya Yadakshi so he is very impersonal.
So, this is one extreme. He becomes impersonal. And second is when emotion becomes too much and the reason which is not there then what happens? It becomes Subhajiya.
Subhajiya means very emotional. So, this reason logic, mind, we have to do logic in Shastras. But this is important.
And if this is not there then it becomes under the influence of emotion. If it is under the influence of emotion then it becomes Subhajiya. Now, Bhakti in Bhakti, what is there? Emotion and reason.
These are both. And there is a combination of both. What is there? Emotion and reason.
Reason It guides and guards. And the emotion that emotion it enriches. The logic, the reason it enriches and enhances.
This is Prakashanth Saraswati. Prakashanth Saraswati was a great Mayavadi. And he thought that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu will dance and sing.
But when Chaitanya Mahaprabhu opened his mouth and explained Vedanta to him then Prakashanth Saraswati came to know what is real light, what is its bliss, what is real Saraswati. So, in reality there is no emotion. There is no emotion.
So, in Bhakti, there is a balance of both. So, what we are going to do today, we are going to discuss about Mayavadi. When a person gets too emotional then he loses his mind.
So, what is the result of this? So, the first concept here is that this is a danger in Bhakti when a person gets too emotional. So, there are many results of this. I will discuss about this on three levels.
What is the problem when a person gets too emotional? So, first of all, when a person gets too emotional then he gets delusional. Delusional means he falls into a trance. Deception means he puts others into a trance.
And the third one is depuridation. Depuridation means he changes himself and society. So, delusion.
So, delusion means he puts himself into a trance. Self, others and society. This is the result of Sahajiya.
So, now I was in Chicago. So, a devotee came there. One of his friends came there.
His friend said that I have come to the temple for the first time. So, as soon as I came to the temple Krishna was also there. Krishna opened his eyes.
So, I felt that Krishna is an old man. So, I thought I will definitely come. After that when I came, Krishna never opened his eyes.
So, Krishna got angry with me. Did Krishna tell me again that I don’t need to come to the temple. When I open my eyes, you can come.
So, now Krishna told me that Swamiji Swamiji that devotee was saying that don’t take drugs. Don’t take drugs. When he came then Prabhupada told him that don’t take drugs.
Then he said that why did you take drugs? Prabhupada said that why did you take drugs? Prabhupada said that yesterday you came in my dream and in my dream you told me to take drugs. Now Prabhupada said that I didn’t come in your dream. Maya came in your dream in my form.
So, what it means is that now when Sadajiya’s feeling is there, can Krishna come in your dream? Who can stop Krishna? Can we kill Krishna by destroying him? Who can stop Krishna? If Krishna is there, we can do anything. But Prabhupada’s feeling was that we can have extraordinary experiences which can be very different. Krishna didn’t come in my dream.
Krishna didn’t come in my dream. Again and again Prabhupada said that I doubt that there is a white light in you. So, he was saying that this is a very big vision.
So, Prabhupada said that whatever you do, you will lose the vision. Prabhupada said that we don’t want to have a vision of a white light. We want to have a vision of God in Shamsudra.
So, maybe that white light can be Brahmajyoti. Whatever it is, what happens is that sometimes such experiences happen. So, these can be called extraordinary experiences.
So, these extraordinary experiences can be different. They can be genuine or they can be our imagination. Imagination.
So, now, what is this? It is very difficult to understand. It is very important that not only such experiences are happening. If they are happening, it is good.
But what is the result Prabhupada said that Krishna didn’t come in my dream last night. Prabhupada said that it is a good thing. So, today get up and talk to Krishna.
What does it mean? What does it mean? It means that what should be done with these extraordinary experiences? Is it right or imagination? It is very difficult to understand this. If someone says that Krishna didn’t come in my dream, then who can say that Krishna can’t come? But, what does Prabhupada see? He sees Maharajacharya. Prabhupada Prabhupada said that I am preaching not because Krishna gave me darshan in the milk and Krishna told me to preach.
Prabhupada said that I am preaching because this is my Guru Maharaj’s order. I am preaching because Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gave me permission to do that. That is my responsibility.
So, Prabhupada, his own spiritual authority, his spiritual wisdom, I saw that, I experienced that that Krishna didn’t come in my dream. I can’t be based on that. He said that what should happen with extraordinary experiences and what should not happen.
With that, our ordinary spiritual practise, our ordinary service, that should increase. If that is happening, then it is appropriate. For example, Krishna said that Krishna came in my dream.
And Krishna told me that now you should have more courage. Now you should come to the temple and serve. Now you are 50, 60, 70 years old.
What should you do? Now you are a saint. And what is this? This is inappropriate for their bhakti. Of course, you should know this.
Of course, you should consult a bhakt. And after that, if extraordinary experiences, anything can happen, if you increase your ordinary service. Once, Prabhupada had a dream that Guru Maharaj was telling him to become a saint.
Prabhupada went and told him that Guru Maharaj was telling him to become a saint. He said, yes, if you want to become a saint, then you should become a saint. Then, after 2-3 gurus, everyone said that if you want to become a saint, you should become a saint.
But, what we say is that if our ordinary sadhna says that there was no need to do this. Why? Because Krishna came in my dream. I became a great bhakta.
So, now, you know that Krishna came in my dream. So, now, you know that Krishna came in my dream. So, now, you know that Krishna came in my dream.
If you leave your ordinary sadhna and service, then what happens? Then, you are not worthy of bhakti. What? When we are doing bhakti, then what is important in bhakti? Bhakti’s purpose is a relationship. We have a relationship.
So, what is a relationship? It is a story. If there is a mother who has a small child, she looks at the child and hugs him. She loves the child so much that she will do anything for him.
This feeling is good. But, if she works hard day and night, the child cries and the mother says leave the child. No, it does not work like that.
So, if there is a relationship, then what is there in the relationship? The child is alive. So, if the mother wakes up in the night, the child is crying. So, the child will come here with love.
But, even if there is no emotion, the child still serves us. So, what is the meaning It is dedication even without emotion. In the absence of emotion.
Sometimes it comes, sometimes it goes. But, dedication is steady. So, if there is a bhakti’shi bhakt then his bhakti is not dependent on emotions.
His bhakti is a relation. Relation is a part of dedication. Relation is a part of responsibility.
He is not dependent on that. But, what happens is when there is a situation, then they say bhakti is only in the form of emotions. So, some people say why do you repeat the name of Mahatma so many times? They say, one should take the name of Bhagwan with emotion.
And, to take the name of Bhagwan with emotion is a good thing. But, to take the name of Bhagwan while sleeping, what is the benefit? It is true that one should take the name of Bhagwan with emotion. But, the problem is that sometimes there is Bhav.
Means, today there is Bhav, tomorrow there will be Bhav. So, sometimes when we are doing japa, it feels so good when we do japa for 20-25 minutes. But, sometimes when we do japa, we say, 108 videh, or 1008 videh? So, what happens is our emotions go up and down.
So, if our bhakti is based on Bhavnani, then what happens is today we do bhakti a lot, tomorrow we won’t do bhakti. And, in this way, we don’t get connected to Bhagwan. So, we think, yesterday I saw you, today I saw you, I became a great devotee.
Today I experienced ecstasy, I felt ecstasy, I became a great devotee. So, we put ourselves in ecstasy. So, what happens is, when our bhavna, what is called duality, when we have bhavna, then we think, that I have become a pure devotee.
And, when, and then, when we don’t have bhavna, then what we do is, we say, that this pure bhakti, whether it exists or not, whether it is the reality of Bhagwan or not, is an illusion. So, what we have to do is, steady bhakti. So, if we put a lot of pressure on bhavna, then the first step is, we go to mountain.
Our bhakti is very unsteady. So, steady bhakti, we can’t do bhakti with equality. So, this is the first step.
But, what is the second result? I told you about diffusion. The second is deception. Diffusion means, we put ourselves in mountain.
Deception means, we put others in mountain. As the story goes, that when I was sitting with Mahaprabhu for some time, then a person came. So, a person came.
There is a snake and he was trying to catch it. So, there another person came and he started dancing, he started falling, he started jumping on the ground. His eyes were filled with tears.
And then, a disciple of Mahaprabhu came. He bit him. So, he started beating him.
I kept saying Krishna, Krishna, Krishna. He was in ecstasy. So, he started beating him.
He said, what are you doing? He laughed. So, he said, this is the way of life. Sometimes, there is a society of devotees.
There is a society of such people in which saints are respected a lot. Great devotees are respected a lot. So, the great devotees whose eyes are filled with tears, who are in ecstasy, such devotees are given a lot of respect.
So, some people pretend that they are respected. So, what happens is that they don’t pretend. They pretend.
Why do they pretend? Because they want respect, they want praise. So, they don’t want to see God. They want to show the world how great they are.
They don’t want to see how great God is. They want to show the world how great they are. So, their focus is completely wrong.
It is not to see God’s glories. They don’t understand God’s glories. What do they have to do? Show my glories.
How great a devotee I am, I am respected. So, in this way, they put others in ecstasy. So, Gaurakishnodas Babaji gives an example of this.
Suppose, there is a pregnant woman. And the pregnant woman is about to give birth. So, her labour pain increases.
And when the pain increases, sometimes the woman starts sneezing. And when the pregnant woman starts sneezing, all the family members come to her and take care of her. So, when the pregnant woman sneezes, what happens to her? A new child, a new life, a new Jeeva is going to be born.
But, looking at this, if there is a woman who is not pregnant, she starts sneezing. She sees that a woman is sneezing, so everyone comes to her. Everyone takes care of her.
So, she starts sneezing, who is not pregnant. So, what happens? Nothing happens So, he says that the one who is a pure devotee is like a pregnant woman. So, for example, when a man and a woman meet, they have a child.
So, the great devotees meet in Bhagwan. Vasudev and Bhagwati use Bhakti Yoga. So, their consciousness is in Bhagwan.
So, when they are in Bhagwan, sometimes Bhagwan enters their heart. So, when such a great devotee has an ecstasy, what happens to him? He gets more love of Bhagwan. He gets more love of Bhagwan.
His Bhakti increases even more. So, the advanced devotees, the serious devotees, their ecstatic symptoms, their ecstatic symptoms, when they show them, what happens to them? They go closer to Krishna. They get closer to Krishna.
They get closer to Krishna. serious devotees, Prabhupada used to say, show what will devotee. What does show what will mean? If such devotees show ecstatic symptoms, what happens to Krishna? They won’t go closer to Krishna.
They will go further from Krishna. So, what happens? They get stuck in So, that is why the feeling of Gopis, Gopis are very great devotees. And sometimes in ecstasy, they experience very different feelings.
But they don’t experience it. One is to go to any temple. Second is to try to impress others.
By this, the person gets used to it. And the third result is depuridation. Depuridation means they fall at the level of ethics.
Now, how does this happen? This is a little more complicated. So, I discussed with others that in Krishna and Gopis, there is a feeling of ecstasy. Now, at the level of elements, Krishna and Gopis are all parts of Krishna.
All living beings are a part of Krishna. That is why Gopis are also a part of Krishna. Gopis are also like Krishna.
Krishna is also the husband of Gopis. But in the Leela of Vrindavan, there is a description which shows through Yogamaya that Gopis are related to someone else. Why is this said? In a way, when there is a story, if there is no suspense in the story, suspense is necessary.
So, suppose there is a romantic movie. In that, there is a hero and a heroine. They play together.
They fall in love. They get married. The movie is over.
What is this? There should be a villain. Someone should be the villain. If there is no villain, there is a misunderstanding.
So, if there is no tension, if there is no tension, no tension, then no attention. If there is no tension in the movie, then what is this? Hero and Heroine. So, what is this now? This is a role outside of their drama.
As it is said in this movie, there are some other roles, they are married in real life and they are also in the movie as hero and heroine. So, how is this? Krishna and Gopiyan, who are they in real life? They are Swamis, Krishna Swami, Sabjiyogin, and Gopiyan are his maids. In Mangal Mantra, it is said to select material to go to spiritual.
Why can’t we take any material thing to spiritual? We have to properly choose the material thing. For example, we eat prasad. Viprasad is made of many things.
In a way. But the material things which are sattvic, we properly cook them. In a way.
Then we offer it to God. Then we consume it. So this is material.
But from material we go to spiritual. Now this is God’s idol. God is divine.
But the idol is made of many things. It can be made of marble. It can be made of stone.
It can be made of wood. So it is made of material. But in material, God is present.
So from material we can go to spiritual. But this doesn’t mean that we can make anything from any imagination and worship it. So select the material.
From material, choose some things. And from that we can go to spiritual. But in Mangal Mantra, it is said, Inauspicious, everything material.
Inauspicious, everything material. From all material things, we can go to spiritual. Eat anything.
If your consciousness is divine, then you can go to spiritual. Eat meat, eat fish. Eat anything.
If your consciousness is divine, then you are in divinity. So is everything dependent on consciousness now? No, a lot depends on consciousness. But what is it? Who has diabetes? It is dependent on consciousness.
No, your sugar will go up. It is not dependent on consciousness. It is dependent on biology.
What is there in it? Consciousness is complete. What is there in this? Some people say, In this mantra, there is a different feeling. It is called, Sambhog Se Samadhi.
Vaishnava Acharya says, that the indra-siddhi, which is Sambhog, it brings our consciousness to the complete material level, but it binds it. That is why, it is very important to control So that we can go to spiritual. But these people say, that from all material things, why can you go to spiritual? So, whatever you do, you can go to spiritual.
Now, this is very difficult. Sambhog Se Samadhi, it has a little possibility. What is its possibility? If, suppose, you have to imagine, that my drawing is a little good.
I want to show you, some Agni Jyoti. This is a map of Bangladesh. Ok.
This is Agni. Now, on Agni, if someone puts fuel, means, if someone puts fuel, then what happens? That fuel increases. So, what is this? This Agni, is our material consciousness.
And the fuel, what is it? That is sense gratification. That is Indra Jyoti. So, from Indra Jyoti, material consciousness increases.
But, there is a possibility, that suppose, this is Agni, and on this Agni, a very big piece of wood is put. So, what can happen? Suppose, a very big piece of wood is put, that Agni, will jump under it. Is this possible? It is possible.
But, there is a very big danger. Because, if that piece of wood, is not that big, that it will crush Agni. So, what will happen with that big piece of wood? That Agni will be that much bigger.
So, now, we can see Agni. We can see that piece of wood. But, now, how much Indra Jyoti we have, we cannot see that.
And, how much Indra Bhoga we do, it will increase. And, how much Indra Bhoga we do, it will increase. Sometimes, when we do Indra Bhoga, after doing Indra Bhoga, there is a lot of pain.
But, what will happen? For some time, there is pain. Then, we eat a lot. We eat a lot.
But, now, it is not like that, if we eat one Gulab Jamun, two, three, ten minutes later, fifteen, twenty, it is not that easy. Then, it will be a lot. But, what will happen in the next Gulab Jamun? It will be the opposite.
So, does Agni, It seems as if life has come to a standstill only for a moment, but that moment is not so big that it will come back the next day. Do you understand the difference? There is a possibility that from the experience of Sambhog, the desire of Indra Tupi will be fulfilled. But that possibility is very limited.
In Kriyayoga Tantra, it is said that if you do a lot of Sambhog, then your desire will be fulfilled. This is further distorted. It is said that when we are doing Sambhog, we are not actually doing Sambhog.
When a man and a woman are doing Sambhog, it is said that they are transmitting Shivji in the man and Shakti in the woman. When Shiva and Shakti are doing Sambhog, it is said that they are transmitting Shivji in the man and Shakti in the woman. So this Tantra was distorted.
But after some time, this Tantra came under Tantra and Vishnu. So some people, like Pratapati, who considered himself to be a great devotee, said that I am so great that when I chant Krishna, people started saying that Krishna is transmitting me. And some innocent women used to say that Krishna has told me that you have gopiyas in you.
And if we do Sambhog together, Krishna and Gopiya will do Sambhog together. And what happened in this way? This is not only unethical, but it is such unethical that it is given the mask of spirituality. Now this is very dangerous.
If you want to do unethical work, do unethical work. If you want to do material work, do material work. But if someone does material work with the mask of spirituality, then not only those two people will be destroyed, but what will the social people think? That these spiritual people who are devotees, what is this? This is unethical in the name of religion.
So due to this, all the Vaishnavism in the society, due to these devotees, the name of Vaishnavism became bad. Similarly, eating meat and fish, especially fish, if you are conscious, then whether it is fish, tree, bird or vegetable, it does not make any difference. So it should not make any difference.
It should be degradation. This is very dangerous. So such people used to say that we are not doing Bhoga.
In reality, Krishna is doing Rajdhila through us. Prabhupadaji says that it is not Rajdhila, it is Vastandhila. You are doing mischief.
So when someone does this, then it is very dangerous. So Sahajiya is not just an emotion that we imagine that we are great devotees. This can be destroyed by spreading anarchism in the society.
So this is the second section. What are the consequences of Sahajiya? So the last point we will discuss is caution. Caution means how we can be careful about it.
How we can be safe from Sahajiya. So there are three main things in this. Shruti, Smriti, Purnani, Pancharatri, Alkanthi, Uthpa.
Uthpa means disruption. So first of all, we have to understand the Shastra. And how to understand the Shastra? We have to understand the Shastra according to Guru and Sadhu.
Some people say that we are doing Bhakti, why do we have to understand Tattva Gyan? If we don’t understand Tattva Gyan, how can we get stuck in Brahminism? So we have to be careful. We have to understand the Shastra. And those who are teaching the Shastra, we have to understand the Shastra through them.
So what happens with that? In many places in the Shastra, we have been warned that we should not behave in this manner. Bhagavad Gita says that if Lord Shiva drinks poison, it doesn’t mean that we can all drink poison. If Krishna does Ashtala, it doesn’t mean that we can do Anukaran for him.
So the imitation, the premature, inappropriate Anukaran, how to avoid that, we have to understand the Shastra. The Shastra is important. And as I said earlier, what happens with the Shastra? Our reason, our intellect becomes strong.
So there is one function of intellect, that what is truth and what is delusion, we have to understand the difference. If someone is intelligent, he will easily get deluded, because he is using his intellect. So we should not delay the study of the Shastra.
Now some people have more capacity to read the Shastra, some have less capacity. Okay, according to our capacity, we have to understand the truth and knowledge through the Shastra. The Shastra is important, but not the scripture.
Along with that, for our own life, we need Satsang. Satsang means not just Anukaran. Satsang means personal relationships, personal guides, personal friends.
When there is no situation in our life, we have some experience, if we are doing something, if we are going to a village, if we are going to a temple, then to ask this, we should have a strong belief. Only then we can ask. So, if we want to do some service, and when we are doing that service, then now we may have a dream, that God will say, Gurudev is coming, you don’t do the service.
So now, shouldn’t we do the service in the right way? Now we can ask Gurudev, we can ask Shri Gurudev. So, our experience, whether it is practical experience, or it can be a dream, or it can be a paranormal experience. How to analyse all that? Only our intellect can analyse that.
We have to use the intellect of others. We have to consult others. We have to understand others.
So, especially, when we meet such devotees, who are not always in agreement with us, then we think about them, and then we decide. Then we decide and tell them. So, we have to stay away from such devotees.
It is not that we have to keep them away, because different devotees have different priorities, different inspirations. But it is not that the one who does not agree with me, is deviant. He is deviant.
It is wrong. No. Maybe what they say is true.
It is possible. So, we should be careful about other devotees. What I am saying here, we should say, bhūhyam ākhyāti.
We should talk to such devotees, about our heart. bhūhyam ākhyāti. The private experience that we have in our mind, we cannot make it a part of the society.
It is not right to make it a part of the society. It can be a display. But we can make it a part of the society.
We can talk to one or two devotees. That is satsang. And the third is sadhana.
Sadhana means to follow the rules. If we follow the rules, then our life becomes complete. If we leave the rules, then I am such a great devotee that I don’t need to follow the rules.
What can this be? Yes, it can be. But it is not that we leave the rules. The rules are a means of devotion for all of us.
There is more to devotion than rules. Yes, this is right. But it is more than the rules of devotion.
Not less than the rules. Means we have to follow the rules. And on top of that we have to awaken our consciousness.
We don’t have to leave the rules to awaken our consciousness. Because the rules are there in every relationship. Means if the rules can be ethical or marital rules.
Now a man and a woman are getting married. Now they are getting married. Because of the marriage, some rules are there.
That the man cannot marry the woman. The woman has to be treated in a certain way. Children are born.
Now there is no law. But if the children are born, then what? That means that we have not given birth to the child. So if someone has to go out, how to take the child? How to feed him? How to take care of him? That is the most important thing.
So what is the responsibility of the parents? We can’t make ten rules and say. If you talk to a parent, you are a good parent. There are rules, but the relationship between parents is different from the rules.
But there are basic rules. You should feed your child. You should see that the child is not going to the bathroom.
The basic rule is that the child should not eat too much sweets, his teeth should not get spoiled, he should not eat anything else. Devotion is more than rules, not less than rules. So, in this situation, if there is a doctor, he may not be able to do it.
But there is a reason for it. For example, once Prabhupada ji went to a life member’s house in Bombay. And there, he had put some onion and garlic in the prasad that he had prepared.
So, once Prabhupada ji said, Prabhupada ji, there is no onion and garlic in this. He said, there is nothing in this. So, he took out the onion from the vegetable and gave it to Prabhupada ji.
He said, where is the onion? Prabhupada ji did not even look at it. He said, there is no onion in this. He gave the prasad to Prabhupada ji, and the house was closed.
And then later, Prabhupada ji said that in the Indian culture, if someone comes to a sadhu’s house, then it becomes a big problem for him. And if a sadhu comes to someone’s house, and he wants to take a bath, or if he is sitting on the bed of a sadhu, and he wants to take a bath, then he is committing a big crime on the character of a sadhu. So Prabhupada ji said that he was a very respectful, devoted, and devoted sadhu.
And it was our mistake that we did not tell him before, that we do not take onion and garlic. So now, because of our mistake, we should not punish him. What is this? This means that we do not eat onion and garlic.
Prabhupada ji sometimes forgets the rules and says what the purpose of the rules is. But this is exceptional. Exceptional means that it is a crime.
It is rare. It is not common. So sometimes in bhakti, to maintain the relationship, by giving importance to the relationship, sometimes the rules can be a little ingenious.
But to leave those rules regularly is not right for the relationship. So what does sadhana mean? It is a rule to maintain the relationship with our God. We will follow it.
So we will be saved from this feeling of victory. In our mind also, gradually feelings will be awakened. And in our heart also feelings will be awakened.
But those feelings will take us towards God. They will take us away from God. So sadhana means what? Today we saw what is sahajiya.
First of all, what is the concept? Sahajiya means that in the spiritual path, if a person uses only his intellect, only reason, then he becomes impulsive. But if he uses only emotion, what does bhakti mean? In bhakti, there is no need of intellect or reason. Only emotion.
Then what happens? He becomes sentimental or sahajiya. So what does sahajiya mean? Basically, he does not cling to devotion. What does it mean to cling to devotion? It means that devotion is just emotion.
There is nothing else in it. So what is the problem in this? Let us look at its consequences. Let us look at its three consequences.
First of all, what is it? Devotion. He is addicted to himself. We imagine it as a special experience.
If we get a special experience, then we consider it as a spiritual advancement. I got Krishna in my dream, that is why I became a Mahatma. Then what is the second one? Deception.
Deception means we put others in a corner. What do we do in this? We show off. We show off.
We want respect for this. We want prestige. How is this? Let us take an example.
There is a non-Bhagavati woman. If she sneezes, then nothing is going to happen to her. Similarly, the one who shows off, who does not have Krishna’s love inside, but he shows it outside, that I am standing here, tears are coming from my eyes, I am rolling on the floor, then nothing is going to happen to her.
And the third one? Deprivation. What is deprivation? This is the society. It is described in this way, that the Tantra, especially the inauspicious Tantra, says that the society will be destroyed completely.
If you try so hard, it will be destroyed. But it does not happen like that. The desire of the Tantra increases.
And especially, what does it do? Here, we saw the external feeling. And when we reflect on the external feeling, then in the name of Krishna, we get Krishna. It says, Krishna is coming to us, and the devotees are coming to us.
They are getting excited. We are enjoying. Krishna is coming to us.
So, what will happen with this? The society itself will be destroyed. So, we have to do protection in Lakshmi. There are three things for that.
First of all, we have to read the Shastra. We have to develop our intellect through the Shastra. So that we do not become emotional.
And then, we have to be in satsang. Especially, we can have a deep conversation And thirdly, we have to follow the rules of sadhana. The devotion to our devotees, it is more than the rules.
Not less than the rules. It is not less than the rules. It is more than the rules.
So, we have to follow the rules. By getting used to the rules, we have to develop our relationship with God. Thank you very much.
Hare Krishna. We have time for questions. So, it is possible.
We can say that it is not possible. But, that, in your dream, you will get it in your area. Meaning, you will experience it in your home.
You say, I want to experience it in the temple. So, in the temple, according to the standards of the temple, you should experience it. So, if you have a booking, if you want to become a special item, if you have freedom, then you can take that freedom.
But, someone says that, the whole plan of the temple, has to be changed. For example, we have a big festival, thousands of people are going to come. And, in that, we have to make a rose garden.
He says, in the dream, God says, we should make a shrine. So, this, this, is a little sentiment. Is it possible? Yes, it is possible.
But, if God had such a desire, then, you would have got it from God. You could have got it from someone. And, if you know God, then, you could have got it from many devotees.
So, he says, like this, like this, we should not create it. Like this, it is possible that, you can get it in your dream. It is possible that, it is okay, if you like it, then, you can make an item, and give it to God.
But, in the rest of the system, we should not create it. Okay? Haribol Hare Krishna. Haribol Hare Krishna.
Apo Ganga Vata Pranam. Te, amara bata ye ye hai, ye koli jug hai. Ye se pasna hai, ye bhagavata koli gita What will happen with that? If we want to increase our spiritual practise, then what does it mean? If someone becomes a devotee of Babasaheb Suresh in one night, then if this God is so merciful, then only such a God can do it.
But, our feeling is that we should demand. Demand similar mercy. That God has also given me such a mercy.
And if God didn’t have such a mercy, then what does it mean? This story is false. Or, this God is false. This scripture is false.
It’s not like that. This is God’s mercy. But, it’s not like that, we will say, similarly, God should also be merciful.
Suppose, someone is a very generous person. And, someone took a donation from him. And, he, gave him Rs.
1,00,000. What is the currency here? Rs. 1,00,000.
So, we went to him. And, he gave us Rs. 1,000,000.
He said, you gave him Rs. 1,00,000, why did you give me Rs. 1,000,000? He said, give me a donation.
I will give you as much as you want. So, give him as much as you want. Because, donation has no right.
It’s a test. So, when we see how much God is merciful, how generous he is, we should have faith that God will be merciful to us. But, we should not demand like this.
We should not demand like this. This scripture also shows that by a small mistake, if we say, take the name of one Narayan, he will become blind. So, by a small mistake, he became blind.
But, God forgave him. So, Prabhupada said, this is extraordinary. It can be a blessing or a punishment.
If it is a punishment, it does not mean everyone should be punished like this. So, extraordinary means we should follow the standard. We should follow the standard.
So, it is possible to meet everyone like this. It is extraordinary. Thank you.
Krishnadevaraya Ramani Krishnadevaraya Ramani Yagamaya Redford Krishnagopi Hilo But, what is villain? Please go ahead. Thank you very much. I am very happy to I am praying that I can contribute in my life.
I have a question. Pregnant woman is an example. Pregnant woman is a pure devotee.
So, I have a question about the behaviour of or a pregnant woman. Krishna is happy because of of a pure devotee. Those who are not pure devotees or are not happy because of their behaviour like a small child are happy because of their behaviour like a small child but they are happy because of their behaviour.
Is there any way to make them happy? the one who is calling upon God. The one who is not calling upon God, yet he is calling upon God. That means he is acting.
The one who is acting, what is he? He is calling upon God. It is difficult for him. And there is one more thing.
He is looking at God. He is not doing it deliberately. He is doing it like this.
After that, it is God’s will. He will get God’s blessings. Okay.
That is a good question. So, imitation, imitation can be good at times and can be bad at times. Sometimes, there are different situations.
Suppose, we are doing Kirtan, and a new devotee comes. And everyone is doing Kirtan with their hands raised. And then a new devotee comes and says, we should do this and that.
So, what is that? It is a part of the time. So, when imitation leads to standard practises, if that is being followed, then it is good. For example, in a temple, a family brings a mother and her child.
So, the mother pronounces, and the child says, mother, what are you doing? You should do this too. So, this is good. So, if the standard practises are being followed, then it is good.
But, the special expressions, they are being followed. And why are they being followed? Because they want respect, they want respect. So, then, they are not suitable.
So, now, it is said that, our great devotees, we should worship them. So, how do great devotees serve? They serve with respect. We should also serve.
But, suppose, our Gurudev, in a way, wears clothes, puts on a blanket. So, the Gurudev puts on a blanket. So, am I going to become a Gurudev from that? No.
So, I thought, I will get used to that. People will say, I am like a Gurudev. It is not like that.
So, what are we imitating? Why are we imitating? In both ways. So, we are imitating the special expressions. So, what Bhagavad Gita was explaining, it was giving a special thing, that, in the heart, the devotee’s heart has no emotion, but he is showing his unselfishness.
Why? Not because he has sinned against God. But because he has sinned against the world. So, that is wrong.
In Bhagavad Gita, the pastor says that this is an evil sign. Yes, thank you very much. I have a question for you.
I am Uday. Prabhuji, this is a Shambhog. There is the Billabongar Tagore.
He also does a lot of Shambhog. So, it is written in the scriptures that the Bhishmavelu Kriyamutra was not sold. So, sometimes in our society, an unmerciful devotee should be a little wrong.
Not liberal, but un-liberal. So, in such a situation, it is the duty of the devotee to do what is right and wrong in every aspect, in every direction. That is why I will do it in every situation.
Okay. I will repeat the question. You will understand the result.
Billabongar Tagore was a great devotee. He did a lot of Shambhog. We cannot understand the Bishmavelu Kriyamutra.
So, in today’s situation, there is a devotee who sometimes does not follow the rules. He does genetic work. So, how can we see him? What should we do? There are two things here.
First, when Billabongar Tagore was doing Shintamani Shambhog, he was not saying that he was a great devotee. He was doing Shambhog. But when he was doing Shintamani Shambhog, he was doing Shintamani Shambhog.
And every sinner has a future. There is no need to remain a sinner forever. So, these two are not together.
So, if someone is doing Abhivakti, and doing Shintamani Shambhog, and doing something which is not right, which is unethical, then there are three major factors in this. that if the person who is doing that work is harmed first of all, then who is getting the result? Now harm can happen to someone individually or socially. Now what does individual mean? Now if a person is harming himself, then it is wrong.
But if he is trying to harm himself, but if someone is approaching a person with an attitude, disturbing himself, and trying to build a relationship with him, then what is that? He is not harming himself, he is harming the society. So if he is social, then he is very serious. If he is individual, then he is serious, but he is not that serious.
So it is important to see who is being harmed. Secondly, what is the role of that person? What is the role of that person? How is he? What is his responsibility? Now, sometimes harm can happen to anyone. Or harm can be wrong.
So if it is wrong, then they should not be in such a principle that it is easy to do wrong things. For example, if someone has diabetes. Why diabetes? Because they eat a lot of sweets.
Now, he is not a serious person, but he is a serious person. He has diabetes. Now, if he is the in-charge of the Mahaprasad, then maybe he should do that service.
If you can do service, then do it. Such a service, if the role is, if it makes relax. Relax means, to do the work again.
Easy. Then, such a role should be left. So, suppose, someone gets very angry.
And in anger, not only does he shout, but he does not abuse. Or he beats someone. So, if someone is like that, then maybe he should not be a counsellor to anyone.
He cannot be the in-charge of the devotee care. He cannot be the brahmacharya of the care. So, such a role should not be left for him.
Such a role should be left for him, to make relapse difficult. Do such a service, so that, he can do the work again. So, it is not like, if he does the service, then it is his fault.
If he beats everyone, then it is his fault. No, he should not do like this. It is his fault.
So, if someone, does such a service, which is being done, or is going towards it, then maybe, his service will be changed, so that, he can be the in-charge of the care. If he is a senior devotee, then he should take all the care. But, he should not be served in such a way, that, he should not come back.
And the third, and the most important is, that, his own mood, his own consciousness, what is that? That, in this, it can be one, that, he, it is good, that, he is regretting. He is regretting, that, I made a mistake, I should not have done like this. Hmm.
But, what is the negativity? That, he is justifying it. He is justifying, that, this happens in the first place. Everyone does like this.
You are hurting me. Everyone is doing like this. Who is doing like this? What? Everyone is doing like this.
It does not mean, that, what is wrong is right. What is wrong is wrong. Everyone, knows what is wrong.
So, if someone is justifying, then, he should do like this. What does it mean? He, what will happen after that? He, will not try to change himself. His whole effort will be, that, I will do like this again.
But, I will do like this, that, he should be caught. So, if he has that feeling, then, he will be caught. So, if someone is doing wrong, then, we cannot say, he is NPA, he is Divya Vaishnav, and, we cannot judge him.
No. In our society, if someone is doing wrong, then, he should take the right action. And, if we are in authority, then, we should take action.
If we are not in authority, then, we should report him properly. It is not that, we should report him, to speak ill of him. But, in our society, if someone is doing wrong, then, we should protect him.
So, we should stop such actions. Ok. I agree with you.
I agree with you. Your last question. Last question.
Thanks for your nice lecture. So, I have heard from Srila Prabhupada’s lecture, that, we need some qualification to hear about the sweetness of Krishna. How I can attain those qualifications, and, how I can understand that, I have got those qualifications.
So, the question is, I can understand I have those qualifications. How I can understand that, I have got those qualifications. How I can understand that, I have got those How I can understand that, I have got How I can understand that, I those qualifications.
I got those qualifications. How I can understand that, I qualifications. How I can understand that, I have those qualifications.
I can understand that, I got those qualifications. How I can that, that this is the real tree, this is the real mango tree, then the fake mango tree will be attracted. So, if we are qualified, then what will happen, if we hear about reality, then what will happen with that? We will be detached from the reflection.
Here, we become attracted to this. So, if we listen to Radha Krishna Leela, and we have less desire to experience our own body, then we are qualified. Like, Prabhupada ji says, if you are reading a lecture, if you are reading a newspaper, if your mind is getting distracted by it, then it means you are not qualified.
So, if you are not getting distracted, then you are qualified. What will happen with this? If you are really qualified, then reflection will remind us of reality. What does it mean? Rupa Goswami always says, युवतीनाम यथा युणाव। युणाव ची युतिन तथा यथा। मनोभीन अधेतत्र मनोभीन अधेतत्र। He says, like a young man is attracted to a young woman, my mind is attracted to you.
What does it mean? Like a young man is attracted to a young woman, my mind is attracted to her. But here, this is an emotion, but she is so intense, my mind is attracted to her. So, if you are attracted, then you are qualified.
So, how can we become qualified? By understanding the truth, that this is truth, and this is reflection, this is Maya. So, understanding the truth, and understanding the truth in a intellectual way, and purifying yourself. So, once purification is done, we will be attracted to the truth, we will be attracted to love.
And then, we will be able to hear God’s divine, intimate past tense. Thank you very much.
