developed if we don’t persevere. Thank you.
God can turn flashlights into floodlights. We just need to live in His light. Suppose we are walking on a road and suddenly the power goes off, plunging the whole area into complete darkness.
Though we may initially rant or groan, but we will soon look for a flashlight. Though the flashlight can show us just a few steps ahead. If we discovered that it had a setting by which it would become as powerful as a floodlight, then we could see so much more clearly.
Thankfully, we all can have access to a magical flashlight like that. During the journey of our life, we are sometimes plunged into darkness by adversities and perplexities wherein we just don’t know what to do. At such times, rather than resenting, we can strive to turn on, turn toward the inner light within us.
If we now turn on our flashlight means to just remember that one truth that we are all souls who are parts of God and we are all meant to lovingly serve Him and contribute to His service. That service attitude will become a small flashlight. And if we use that flashlight, we will find that gradually as we maintain that service attitude and connect with Krishna, He will illumine us from within.
And as we become illumined from within, that flashlight itself can turn into a floodlight. So if we just maintain that attitude, Krishna, how can I serve you? Krishna becomes pleased and He illumines our inner world and through that illumination, we gain clarity, confidence and our outer world also gets illumined. The Bhagavad Gita states that, With the light of knowledge, He illumines those who stay connected with Him, devoted to Him.
And with this light, if we move onward, we will find that we can not only illumine our own path, but just as a floodlight can show not only us and a few people around us, but many, many people the path ahead. Similarly, God’s grace can not only clarify our path, giving us clarity and confidence, but also through us illumine many others. Therefore, rather than focusing on worrying about the darkness, we can just work on turning on the flashlight and depending on God’s grace, that flashlight can become bigger and bigger and help us to become a source of light, a channel for the divine light in the world’s darkness.
Thank you.
