Today, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I am fortunate to be able to come to this auspicious place of Nashik with all of you due to your love and support. So, today, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I would like to discuss a topic related to Lord Ram, Chandra and Lakshman. Do we count? Do we count? Are we living in this world? When we live in our life, what is the value of our existence, our work? What is the calculation? Who is the calculator? Today, when we live in big cities, and when we are one among thousands of people, we just become another statistic among the teeming millions of people who move around in the metropolitan cities of the world.
We become just another figure. So, when we look at our existence in a way, we all feel that our existence is important. I want to do something valuable, meaningful in my life.
But still, the vastness of this world, and in front of it, our insignificance, what difference does it make to what we do? In reality, if we look at the Ramayana, Ravana was one type of lord, and Ram and Chandra were two types of lords. So, the war between Ram and Ravana, was a war between Ram and Ravana, but in a way, the war between Ram and Ravana, was a war between Ram and Ravana. And when this war was taking place, both of them, both of them, had the same attitude towards their own warriors, towards their own soldiers, which was the difference between the earth and the sky.
The war was going on all day, and after the war, when it was night time, and the war was taking place all day, Lord Ram and Chandra, would stay awake all night, and after staying awake, all the monkeys, who had died in that war, Lord Ram and Chandra, would get their last rites. In contrast, Ravana, Ravana, had ordered, that as soon as it was night time, and the war was over, all the demons who had died, should be thrown into the sea. Why? He had the intention, that if humans see, how many demons have been killed, then their courage will increase, and they will see, that there is no dead body here, on the side of the demons.
Then they will think, what is the use of fighting all day? This will reduce their courage. So Ravana specialized in use and throw culture. So what was Ravana doing with the humans, with the demons, with their own soldiers? To use them, and to throw them.
The only intention, was to throw them physically. Kulshikar Maharaj, in his prayer, Kulshikar Maharaj was a great saint, in his prayer he said, Lord, in this world, we all have to serve, but my misfortune is, that instead of serving you, I am serving someone else. And what is the difference in serving like this? He said, if I serve someone in this world, then what do I get from it? I get some grains, from that, I get some nourishment.
But, for such service, I beg. Lord, if I serve you, if I serve you, then you are always, supporting me, in your way. And not only, you support me there, here also, through your service, you give me eternal bliss.
Even in this situation, unfortunately, I am very unhappy, And, I am very eager, to serve others, in this world. So, when we do Japa, I am coming from Melbourne, in Melbourne, Holi means everything, there is everything in Haryana, then I asked a devotee, when I do Japa, we do Japa of Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Ram, Hare Ram, Ram Ram, Hare Hare. It is said that, when Hare Krishna Mahatma does Japa, his feeling is that, Oh Lord, let me serve you.
So, this devotee asked a question, in reality, I already have a lot of service. So, I am afraid to do Japa. If I do Japa, then how will I serve God? If I serve God, then how will I serve God? So, in reality, it is not that, we have a lot of worship, and God will put more worship.
In reality, when we do Japa, when we ask God to serve us, then, there is a lack of feeling of service. So, we are saying to God, Oh Lord, let me serve you. Oh Lord, let me serve you.
And if we start doing this kind of service, then there is ultimate satisfaction. In reality, there are a lot of things in this world, which are dependent on our vision. If, let's say, someone is told, this is 20 kg weight, you lift it and take it.
So, he will say, 20 kg weight is very difficult to lift. But if we tell him, this 20 kg weight is 20 kg pure gold. And the more weight you lift, the more you will get.
But he will run away from there. So, what is the reason? The vision of that place is changing. Similarly, in this world, when we talk about service, or when we say servant, when we say servant, then many times, there is a negative feeling in it.
What does servant mean? The more the lord can exploit, the more he tries to exploit. The more you can make your servant work, the more work you make him do. And pay the lowest salary.
And the servant thinks that he should work as little as possible and not earn as much as possible. So, in this material world, the feeling of servant and lord, what does it mean? It means the feeling of exploiting each other. Once, a survey was done in America.
People were asked, What is your favorite imagination? What is your favorite imagination? Different people told different imaginations. Many people told I want to smash the face of my boss. My imagination is that I want to smash the face of my boss.
In this material world, when we serve, there is a negative feeling. But, Shri Prabhupada ji tells in his book, that the relationship of service between the lord and the devotee is the most congenial form of intimacy. He says that a very loving and intimate relationship exists between the lord and the devotee.
Even if it is between the lord and the servant. But, that relationship is very different from the relationship in this world. It is a very different kind of relationship.
This feeling we will see how it comes in the relationship between the lord and the devotee. There are many cases, but I will focus on three cases. We will see how the relationship between the lord and the devotee has different emotions.
In any relationship, different people have different emotions and have different relationships. Since childhood, two brothers were very close Rama and Lakshman and Bharata Shatrughna. So, when it happened, Rama and Lakshman went to the forest twice.
When Vishwamitra told me that I want your son. In reality, Vishwamitra Muni came to ask for Rama. He said, I want Rama.
I will kill the Asura. Dashrath Maharaj said, I will go myself. I will take my whole army.
But when he heard the name of Ravana, he said, I cannot face him. He said, Rama is yours. When Rama was going, Lakshman said, I will not go.
Lakshman went with him. After that, the relationship between Lakshman and Rama looks like that love is seen by what we give up for our beloved and love is seen by what we take up for our beloved. When we love someone, there are two things in love.
We accept some responsibilities. To do something for them, we accept some responsibilities. When we love, we are ready to give up for our beloved.
Primarily, love is seen in that. So, when Lord Ramachandra was sent from the forest, when Kaikeyi gave the order, and when Rama came out of Kaikeyi's palace, and when Lakshman came to know about it, Lakshman was very angry. He was angry.
He was angry. And when Lord Ramachandra went to his mother, Kaushalya, and told her that now, his mother was fasting the whole night so that when her son was going to be consecrated, to get good wishes. So, very happily, Kaushalya hugged Lord Rama.
The mother understood her son with her face. What happened? Why is your face so sad? When Lord Ramachandra told her, Kaushalya was very happy. Kaushalya was very happy.
She thought that if Lord Rama would go to the forest, he would be very happy. She thought that her son was not there And after a lot of penance, she got a son like him. And when she got a son like him, she felt that all her wishes were fulfilled.
If Lord Rama would leave Kaushalya, it would have been when you were not there. But if you leave, I will not be able to live without you. If you are going to be born, I will also have to leave.
So, with great difficulty, Lord Rama convinced Kaushalya. When you were leaving from there, and you were going to your own palace, Sita came to you. When Lakshman was there, Kaushalya came to you.
Then Lakshman got very angry. And he started saying that what kind of story is this? Lakshman was so angry that he was not even calling Dashrath Maharaj in his father's name. He was saying that the old king has gone blind from work.
And because he has gone blind from work, he does not know what is true and what is not. And in such a situation, there is no need to follow the orders given by him. This kingdom is yours.
And you should get this kingdom. Whoever comes in between you, he will be the victim of my arrows. Even if the king comes in between, I will not leave him.
Lord Rama said that he said that the arrow that will come out of your bow, it will have to go into my bow first before it reaches Dashrath Maharaj. When he heard this, Lakshman was very angry. He was not calm yet, but still he tolerated it.
And then he said that this Lakshman is trying to calm him down. He said, Lakshman, you know that Thinkei loved me the same way my mother Kaushalya loved me. Actually, I have never seen any difference between my two mothers.
That is why when I saw that Kaushalya is saying such words, then I started thinking that Kaushalya's love was like the Ganga that flows. In the same way, her love always flowed in me. So, Lakshman was angry.
Even I am not able to understand how the entire Ganga became happy in one night. That is why Lord Rama said that when I saw the opposite side of Thinkei, then I understood that this is the game of destiny. He is our God.
That is why we should accept him. So, Lakshman said that only cowards accept injustice as destiny. The brave people accept injustice.
You should not accept injustice in this way. Lord Rama said that what is my destiny is not complete. What is my duty? That is why I will go to the jungle from here.
And he said to Lakshman that you stay here and take care of my mother. Take care of her. Lakshman said that if you go to the jungle, then I will also go with you.
Lord Rama tried to convince Lakshman. Now, Lakshman did not need to go with him. What did Lord Rama tell him? He did not tell him that he will stay in the palace.
He did not listen to him. He told him that if Bharat becomes the king and Kaikeyi becomes the queen then Kaikeyi and Kaushalya will have with Kaushalya and my mother. That is why you should stay here and take care of my mother.
That is why Lakshman said that in reality, Bharat and Lakshman can And the jungle is not far. If there is any problem, I will come here. But I will come with you.
That is what he said. Lord Rama agreed. Now, Lakshman left everything in the jungle.
When he went to the jungle, he was very happy. Lakshman always used to serve Lord Rama and Sita. When he was serving, Lakshman's character was like Bheem's character in Mahabharata.
Bheem used to get angry very fast. Similarly, Lakshman used to get angry very fast. That is why in this way, in the jungle, Rama and Lakshman Chitrakoota, Dhriniketa, Nairama When Lord Ramachandra was living in Chitrakoota, suddenly, one day, there was a loud noise.
Rama, Lakshman used to live in the jungle. There can be danger in the jungle. So, they used to stay alert.
But this noise was not an animal's noise. It was a very loud noise. Both the warriors understood that an army was coming.
Which army? They asked Ramachandra. Ramachandra told Lakshman, You climb the tree and see who has come here. He climbed the tree and saw a huge elephant.
He was the king of Ayodhya. He was the king of Yudhishthira. His elephant was named Shatrunjay.
He saw a huge elephant from a distance. When he saw the elephant, he understood that the army of Ayodhya was coming. That's when Lakshman got angry and his intellect started working overtime.
What did he do immediately? When our emotion accelerates our imagination, our intelligence needs to be on the brink. When our emotions and our imagination come together, we often go on the path of destruction. When we are driving a car with emotions and the car can go very fast, and when we drive it even faster, it can be destroyed.
That's why emotion and imagination come together. Then sometimes we go on the path of destruction. His emotion was still angry.
Why did he send Ram to the jungle? Ram was supposed to be the king. When he saw Bharat coming, what did he imagine? Bharat is coming. Bharat is coming.
He is bringing his entire army. Bharat came with his entire army thinking that he is the only younger brother. Ram won't listen to him.
But if the entire army comes along with the leaders of Ayodhya, and if we decide together, then Akramshi Ramchandra will agree to come again. That was his intention. When Lakshman saw what did he say? He thought that Bharat has come to attack.
He got angry and said that Bharat has come to kill you. But he didn't know that he can destroy the entire army of Ayodhya. At that time, Ramchandra remained calm.
He said that he knew that Bharat's love for him was as much as his love for him. Why did you get angry on Bharat? Did he do any crime against you? Or did you come to the jungle after coming to the jungle, because of your penance, you are disappointed and angry. If this is the case, when Bharat comes, he will tell Bharat to stay in the jungle and Lakshman can rule.
Ramchandra said that Lakshman remained calm. Later, he showed me how much Bharat loved him. How did Bharat take Ramchandra's sword on his head? He showed the whole world that he is only a servant.
Ramchandra is the king. Suppose there are two brothers and father passes away. There is a fight between them.
Who will be the king? Who will get the king's support? If one brother gives his right to the other brother, the other brother will hit the head of the first brother. This was a succession conflict caused by selflessness. Most succession conflicts are caused by selfishness.
When two brothers fight, the fight is caused by selfishness. Later, when Bharat left, Lakshman asked Ram that why is he so angry? Why is he so angry? Why did he get angry so quickly? Then, Ramchandra said, You are sentimental. You are sentimental.
Then, Lakshman said, Is it bad to be sentimental? Is it a bad feeling? Ramchandra said, No, it is a good feeling. But the feeling is the ego of our life. But we should choose those feelings that take us towards Dharma.
And those feelings that take us away from Dharma should stay away from us. Actually, the feelings in our heart are of different types. These different types of feelings are to be understood.
Actually, in today's world, the advertising industry understands it very well. What kind of feeling is it? What kind of feeling is it? It is harmful for people. So, we have to make them work according to our will.
What are our feelings actually? If a car is moving, the driver drives the car. And the fuel petrol or diesel or natural gas drives the car. When both are together, and the car is able to move, the car moves forward.
The driver controls the car. If the driver is in the car but there is no fuel in the car, then the car will not move. If there is fuel, if there is petrol, but the driver who drives the car does not have a control.
If there is no fuel, the car will not move. If the driver does not have a control, the car will move, but in very dangerous directions. This will harm the driver.
So, our emotions are like the petrol for our life. And our intellect is like the driver. So, we need both.
If a person has a lot of intellect, but less emotions, then what happens when there is only intellect and no emotions? A person does not remain a person. A person becomes an information processing machine. He can do a lot with his intellect, but when there is only emotion, he becomes a machine.
Computers have become very powerful. If a person opens a computer and a voice comes from the computer, saying, I love you, then a person is going to take it seriously. Because he is a machine.
He does not have emotions. Even if a voice comes from the computer, he does not have emotions. The emotions in our life are like the fuel for our life.
But the driver is our intellect. So, in today's world, the emotions are the fuel for our life. What does it mean? It means that emotions are stimulated so that we do not use our intellect and work on the power of emotions.
A famous advertiser says that the purpose of advertising is to paralyze the intelligence till the purchase is made. What is the purpose To paralyze the intellect and work on the power of emotions till the purchase is made. Once the purchase is made, the intellect can be bought.
In this way, when our intellect is not active, we work on the power of emotions. When we work on the power of emotions, we do not know what we are doing. Many times, when I was in Australia, there was an addiction.
Addiction means a strong addiction. It is an addiction called alcoholism. People used to drink a lot.
These days, in big cities, there is another type of addiction called shopaholism. Shopaholism means buying and selling. If you go to a shop, you will get 10, 50, 100, 200 things.
If you go to a supermarket, you will get thousands of things. People keep buying and selling till you drop. Keep buying and selling.
And then, why didn't you buy? Why didn't you buy? Because I have a friend who has done a PhD in psychology. He was telling me that in fact, in supermarkets, an environment is created through which people their emotions, their desires, their desires get deeper and deeper. When it gets deeper, there is a balance of intellect.
Because of that, people do anything. Now, what does Ramchandraji say? Our emotions should be in a way that raises us towards dharma and takes us away from truth. Here, Ramchandraji is taking up the role of the elder brother.
Lakshman is the younger brother. But later on, when Sita gets possessed, and then Ramchandraji gets possessed by different emotions. Sometimes, he gets very depressed.
Sometimes, he gets very angry. He gets so angry that when Sita gets possessed, Ramchandraji is looking for her everywhere. Where is she? Where is Sita? Where is Sita? He does not give any other answer.
At this time, he has not yet reached Jatayu. He is looking for her in the same place where she was born. Ramchandraji is asking the tree, birds, grass, where is Sita? Where is Sita? Where is Sita? In reality, at this time, Ramchandraji a feeling of separation from Sita.
He experiences a feeling of separation from Sita. These emotions foreshadow the emotions of separation that the Gopis feel from Krishna when he disappears in the Rashtriya. The Rashtriya of God happens in the jungle.
Ramchandraji was in Dandaka. Ramchandraji was in Dandaka. Krishna was in Vrindavan.
At the spiritual level, some things happen on the outside and some things happen on the inside. On the outside, in reality, Sita is separated. So, this is a very sad thing.
But from the inside, Ram and Sita can never separate. They are one soul in two bodies. They are one soul in two bodies to play.
So, in reality, separation is not possible. The separation happens only at the level of play. And when separation happens, the memory of separation increases.
The separation is like fire. And when fire is lit, at that time, if there is air, when there is fire in a big what happens? The fire increases with the air. The fire increases with the air.
In the same way, when there is a lot of love in the heart, at that time, when separation happens, the love is fire and separation is air. With the air of separation, the fire of love increases. In the same way, when separation happens, be it Ram and Sita or Radha and Vishnu, the love increases.
But it is not that the love of separation will always increase. One is that there is a lot of fire in the jungle and it increases with the air. So, if we say, I will go away from the devotees, I will go away from God, then separation will come and my devotion will increase.
In reality, our devotion is not like the fire in the jungle. Our devotion is like the fire of ignorance. So, when the fire comes, it will be extinguished.
That is why the devotion of the devotees is very important. Here, when Ram and Sita are full of separation, when they are full of separation from Vishnu, at that time, when no one answers them, no one answers them, no one says, where is Sita, where is Sita? No one is answering them. That is when they look at heaven and say, O God, why did you not protect Sita? Why are you not answering where is Sita? Because I have always been religious.
I have always done my duty, but you have not done your duty. That is why I will destroy you all. And they pick up the arrow and in the direction of heaven, they are going to drop the arrow.
And when they drop the arrow, now, in the midst of emotions, Ram and Sita have come. That is when Lakshman holds his hand and he says, O God, the promise that you have taught me, I will give it to you. He says, I am grateful to you.
I want to remind you If you do something then later you will also be responsible for it. He teaches them with great humility and seriousness. And that is when Ram and Sita hear this promise and they calm down.
They calm down. Here, whoever is in the role, Prakash Ram is the elder brother, Lakshman is the younger brother, but the world is such that we may need anyone. It is not that we will always be on the upper level, we will always be on the lower level.
We can do meditation today or tomorrow. We can definitely do it. We can definitely do it.
The voice of wisdom can speak to us to anyone. The wisdom that we have, we can definitely get it. When Prabhupada ji was promoting, a postman told him, why are you making a magazine? You should write a book.
People will read the magazine and keep the book there. What did Prabhupada ji say? He said that my Guru is speaking to him. Here, Prabhupada ji said, Lakshman is telling me the truth.
He immediately accepted it. After this, the beginning that I was telling you, Do I count? In relation to this, Lakshman meditated a lot with Prabhupada ji. When the war was going on, Ravana made many mistakes.
One was Lord Ramchandra. He was the most powerful. His power was already shown when he alone killed Kharadusha, Trishra and 14000 demons.
Still, Ravana had so much ego. Prabhupada ji said that this army of demons can be killed by even one warrior. In reality, the army to attack and the country to attack how many people can come to attack? All the population cannot come here to attack.
All the people in the country are protecting the country. The army of demons is there. When Lord Ramchandra came to attack Lanka, the entire army of Ravana was with him.
Lord Ramchandra had many armies. But still, the entire army of Ravana was with him. But Ravana had so much ego that he thought that even one warrior can kill Lord Ram with the entire army of Ravana.
That's why despite having an entire army in Lanka, Ravana never attacked the entire army. He used to send one warrior then another, then another, then another. And later, when everyone was dead, even Indrajith and Kumbhakarna were dead, Ravana himself came with his entire army.
He came with his entire army and there were so many people. All the demons were coming to him to kill them. The great warriors of Ravana were Angad, Sugrindha, Hanuman.
He made everyone unconscious. He attacked and destroyed everyone. That's when Lord Ram saw Lakshmi and said that the one who is destroying everyone is Ravana.
That's when Lakshmi said to Ravana that why are you fighting ordinary people? If you have the courage, fight me. That's when Ravana saw Lakshmi. That's when he realized that the nature of the ego is to overestimate oneself and underestimate others.
When a person has ego, he thinks that if he can kill, then he is great and the other one is useless. That's when Ravana realized that he was alone. All his soldiers, the great warriors, thought that he was alone.
He saw Lakshmi and said that Lakshmi, you are a child. If you fight me, you will die. Go and bring your elder brother.
I will kill him and end this war. So, the great warriors are like this. One thing is that if they are challenged, they never reject the challenge.
But if they are rejected, then it is a great insult. If Lakshmi is being challenged, you are not even equal to me. That's when Lakshmi said that you are not worthy to fight Ram.
You are not even worthy to fight Lakshmi. So, you fight Ram first. If you are alive, then fight Ram.
And Lakshmi attacks Ram. Lakshmi and Ram have a great fight. Ram thinks that he can easily kill Lakshmi.
But Lakshmi uses all kinds of weapons to fight Ram. Whatever happens, Lakshmi fights back. When Lakshmi fights back, Ram is surprised how fast Lakshmi fights.
And then Ram has a divine weapon which is called Devatasura. He has a weapon to kill his biggest enemy. He has a weapon He uses that weapon to kill Ram.
He uses that weapon to kill Lakshmi. When he uses that weapon to kill Lakshmi, the sky has a sun which is in the sky and the other sun is in the earth. The whole earth is filled with fire.
No one can see anything. As soon as the arrow comes out of the bow, a huge ball goes into the earth. When Lakshman sees that, Lakshman tries to fight back.
But that arrow cannot fight back. When Lakshman with all his strength, then he says If I have been faithful to my brother, if I have been faithful to Ram, then let by his strength let this arrow stop. If I always have been faithful to Ram, then let by Ram's strength let this arrow stop.
That is how he speaks. When he speaks, an arrow comes and goes into his heart. And Lakshman dies.
So in reality, that arrow is such that it kills the person. But because Lakshman has heard about Ram, he hears about Ram and tries to fight back. That arrow makes him unconscious, but Lakshman dies.
And when Lakshman becomes unconscious or dies, he does not understand. That arrow is so dangerous that Lakshman does not see any sign of life. He does not see anything.
That is why Ravana thinks that he has won and leaves. He thinks that he has fought many warriors and that is why he leaves. That is why Ramchandra comes there and what does he see? He sees that he is full of energy.
When he sees this, he says that he is going to revolt. He says that there are many challenges in his life. But today's challenges are the biggest.
First of all, he says that when I die, what will I His son was born in my hands. He gave him to me. I was his guardian angel.
I bowed down to him. He says that when I was sent out of the kingdom to my mother, I did not feel so much pain. When I met Sita, I did not feel so much pain.
As much as Lakshman left me, I did not feel so much pain. He says that my kingdom is gone. It is my father's order.
It is his wish to give me the kingdom. Sita came with me. I told her not to come.
Sita said that she will go with her husband. But Lakshman was not there. He had his own family.
He did not need Lakshman came with her. He said that he will get the kingdom but he will never come back. That's how he said.
Then Shukri and Hanuman came. They were crying because of Ramachandra's words. Ramachandra said that this is a war.
Stop it. There is no use of war. If Lakshman is gone, what will I do after winning this war? Shukri, you go back.
You go to Kishkin and stay there. I will leave my body with Lakshman. I will leave my body with Lakshman.
Our war our campaign has ended with Lakshman's death. This is how Shukri and Shandana come. Ramachandra said you go to Kishkin and stay there.
I will attack Lanka and kill everyone. Hanuman was not there. That's how Ramachandra came.
He said that in reality Ram, Lakshman and Mirji are like this. Are they still alive? When this thought comes in the mind that's how Ramachandra who is so disillusioned that he cannot hear but he hears the rest of the words. He sees the warriors who always get to see their death.
At such a time, he feels that death has already happened. But when he sees he gets a little doubt. He says that in reality Lakshman's death has ended with this war.
Why? If you wait for some time you will see that Lakshman comes again. There is a long story about how Lakshman comes again. Many times he comes.
Once he came to Nirgipuram and he was alive. In different ways Lakshman comes again. When Lakshman comes Ramachandra also comes.
Lakshman is alive and Ramachandra is alive. Then he says that Ravana has attacked you not only me and Arudhya but he has attacked our mother Sunitha. And after that there is a difference between Ramachandra and Ravana.
There is a long story. Then Ramachandra becomes Ravana. Here Lakshman has to serve in a very difficult way.
Usually when we go to serve we serve in a way that is easy. The difficult way is we say that anyone can do it. So Lakshman has to serve in a difficult way.
But here Lakshman always serves. But here when Lakshman gets angry Ramachandra says that without Lakshman I have no courage. I have no life.
I have no power. I am aimless. Without you Lakshman.
Lakshman can't do anything without you. This feeling is not only towards the devotee but also towards God. This feeling is that without you Lakshman can't do anything.
Without you Lakshman can't do anything. This feeling is not only towards the devotee but also towards God. I am support.
This is what God says that not only the devotee is in my heart but I am in the devotee's heart. We are in each other's heart. This is the relationship.
Ramachandra shows this relationship between him and Lakshman. When he tells the world that without Lakshman I am nothing. In this world we say Do we count? What is our value? As long as we live then an animal can enter our body and end our life.
A car can crash and end our life. One bug or one bang can end our life. But in such a situation what what is it that counts? What is it that makes us count? What is our value? What is it that makes us complete? That is God's devotion.
God's devotion is the work of the soul. Whatever we do lasts for some time. That is a complete thing.
But whatever we do at the physical level can give us something. But what is God's devotion at the level of the soul is not completed in this life. But even if it is not completed there is the sign of the soul that will work in this life.
As our Vedic Shastra says the physical progress is the progress of spirituality. विद्यां च विद्यां च यस्तं पूरीदो भयं स विद्यां ल्टिन फीर्ता विद्यां या उन्दूर्थमश्न As the Vedas say the knowledge of the physical world and the spiritual knowledge when we work with both then we can develop it with understanding. Our physical development is like a painkiller.
Our spiritual development is like a medicine. If a person is in a lot of pain, doctors give him a painkiller. But if the patient thinks that he took a painkiller and all the pain is gone, then what is the need to take the medicine? And if he thinks like this, he is taking the painkiller, the pain is going away, but the disease is increasing from inside.
Later, the pain will also increase. The more the pain increases, what will happen with that much pain? He will have to take more painkillers. He will take more painkillers, later he will come to such a stage that the pain will not go away.
Because the disease has also increased. Similarly, in today's world, in the modern society, there is a lot of physical development. Physically, it is believed that to control the outer world, a lot of changes have taken place.
But what has happened? There is no control from the inner world. There is no control from the inner world. From the inner world, the mind is getting more and more crazy.
In 1955, in America, now, everyone is always worried. In many places, there is no worry. But, in America, in 1955, for the first time, a medicine was made.
People said, take the medicine, you will get rid of the worry. Since then, the medicine was made. In three years, the same medicine was given.
The medicine was given to about lakhs of people. Since then, the medicine had some power in the brain to calm the nerves. But when that work was not done, another medicine was made which increased its effect.
So, now, in America, there is a medicine called Prozac. Millions of people take this medicine. And what is this medicine? In reality, it does nothing.
It is just like a pill. It feels a little like a pill. But, it makes people happy.
It has an effect. So, the worry can have different causes. But, what is the cause of worry? When our world, our life is changing a lot, and there is no peaceful time, then the anxiety increases a lot.
The worry comes when there is no eternal refuge. When the refuge of God comes in our life, the worry is there, but we can make it go away. When there is no God in our life, then there is no eternal refuge.
So, in reality, there is always worry in life. There is no relief from worry. So, even though people are not doing any spiritual practice, they do meditation and do kirtan.
Why? Because they get relief. But, in our modern society, to get relief from worry, a lot of people say that by investing a lot of money and spending a lot of money and taking medicines, there is no relief from worry. If we go to spirituality, then there is no relief from worry.
So, all this scientific research and a lot of thinking after which we are getting the knowledge, our Vedic Shastra and Vedic Sanskrit have told us this from the beginning. There are two words- worry and thinking. What are the two words? Worry.
It is the root word. Where does our worry go? Some people say that I cannot think. I cannot chant.
I cannot meditate. Why? I do not feel like chanting. So, can you worry? Can you worry? Can you worry? What is the use of worrying? You worry automatically.
In reality, what is the meaning of worrying? The mind takes us away from our immediate reality. What are we doing in worry? You must be sitting in a good place. If there is a corona in America, then this will happen.
Then this will happen. Then that will happen. If there is a corona in India, then I will go to the doctor.
What will happen if I go to the doctor? Once, every three months, I used to go to the doctor. I used to check. Doctor, do I have cancer? No, you do not have cancer.
Do not worry. I used to go every three months. I did this for 24 years.
Doctor said, yes, you have a very primitive cancer. Doctor, I was right. So, for 22 years, I used to go every three months and worry.
What happened later? As I get older, I get different types of worries. So, worry becomes like a self-filtering, self-justifying, self-perpetuating process. So, worry and prediction.
What is the difference? In reality, when we worry, we make it a prediction. And because of worry, what we do not want to do, it happens. In reality, worrying is not easy.
What I mean is, suppose, you are sitting in this chair. Suppose, it is very hot. You feel very hot.
Still, you sit. It is not an easy task. By the way, worry creates heat in our brain.
Still, we do not worry. So, those who worry, they are very powerful people. Worrying is not an easy task.
Yes, you are in a good condition. But you create different types of illusions and torture yourself. So, in reality, it is very difficult.
It is very difficult. God says, there are different types of illusions. या सप्नं भयं शोकन् विशादन् मनने वच्छन् ननुविशिदमेधा इति सापार्थि नामिसी In Vatara Adhyaya, it is said that a person who is always sad, always worried, he is also an illusion.
But what type of illusion is it? It is Tamogudi illusion. It is a slow illusion, but it is Tamogudi. So, it is not that we cannot meditate.
We have the ability to meditate. If you can worry, then you can meditate. If you have the ability to worry, then you have the ability to meditate.
What do we have to do? We just have to change the object of thought. When we think about many things, we get worried. When we think about God, we get worried.
Similarly, when we listen to the devotees, we get attracted to God. The more we get attracted to God, the easier it becomes to think about God. When we think about God, we get worried.
