Are both people who chant simply out of piety and those who chant as sadhana at namabhasa level?
Answer Podcast
So, if outside people are also sometimes as a part of the culture, they may chant the names of Vishnu, Krishna.
And we also chant. They are also at Namabhasa, we are also at Namabhasa. What is the difference? Yeah.
Namabhasa is, it’s not just like one thin line. It’s a broad level. We could say that there are people who don’t know shooting arrow at all.
They shoot anywhere. And there are people who are shooting an arrow, which they are trying to hit in the target. So, now, after a long practice, the arrow will hit the target.
So, now, what we are doing is we are practicing for the arrow to hit the target. The others are just shooting arrows. They are not really practicing with the intent of hitting any target.
They are not necessarily cultivating a pure heart, mind and practice of bhakti. Their focus is just, it’s a part of their culture, they may do it. And they may also have some devotion.
It’s not that only by sadhana bhakti, only those who follow the ISKCON standards of sadhana bhakti, they have bhakti. They are serious bhaktas. Others may also be bhaktas.
We have to see what they are practicing. But it is to rise from Namabhasa to Shuddhanam, requires time, requires effort. And we see Ajami put in that effort.
This is the age of 88, this happened to him. But then it is for several years, more than a decade, he is practicing the sadhana bhakti. And then he came to a ready to put in the effort.
So, what we are doing is sadhana bhakti to rise from the stage of Namabhasa to Shuddhanam. So, others are not trying also to rise from Namabhasa to Shuddhanam.
