Bhagavatam-daily 14 – 11.07.04 – The departure of Krishna’s outer manifestation impels us to take shelter of his ever-accesssible manifestations

gives way to the optimism of the shelter of philosophy the shelter of krishna manifesting through the philosophy so the background is set over here by krishna that even amidst such darkness that doubly the lord is departing and then after that even this world is getting overwhelmed by kali so actually shanacharita explains that kaliyuga’s time had already come and kali was about kali should have already overwhelmed the world but as long as krishna was there kali’s presence was checked because of the presence of krishna but now when krishna would depart that itself is a cause of inauspiciousness beyond that further when an inauspicious person like kali takes over there will be greater inauspiciousness and now is it that the lord wants inauspiciousness no actually what the lord wants ultimately is just the benefit of everyone the lord actually wants to help everyone by helping them come back to him and to live peacefully while they are here in this world but for those souls who want to seek enjoyment through destructive means through sinful means by indulging in their lowest desires in a unrestricted way for them kali yuga is a facility so yes kali yuga is inauspicious but krishna gives this material world as a facility for those souls with inauspicious desires to play out and exhaust their desires and thereby become open to his wisdom and through the uddhavita he will demonstrate that even while there may be inauspicious all around if we take shelter of krishna through his message then there can still be auspiciousness for us so the important point is to not see anything as outside krishna’s jurisdiction that even the evil of this world and the evil of the particular age in which we are living is actually within krishna’s jurisdiction that means that sometimes some terrible storm comes or some other natural calamity comes now at that time everywhere there is disaster now if somebody tries to stay amidst the natural calamity exposing oneself to nature that person will be devastated but there is also a relief provided sometimes the government helps evacuate people to safe area or it creates shelter zones where people can go for shelter in areas where there are whirlwinds or tornadoes or storms coming like that and often those people have a small or large underground shelter or cellar or something like that where people can go for protection so Kali Yuga is a age of calamity like that but it is not that krishna has forsaken the souls of Kali Yuga he is there and he makes his shelter available so he will make his shelter available to Uddhava through his message actually in one sense Uddhava’s example demonstrates to all of us how to deal with the calamities actually the twin calamities of spiritual bereavement and material disaster spiritual bereavement is that the lord has departed material disaster is that Kali Yuga is creating all kinds of inauspiciousness but even amidst this one can find shelter of Krishna by living in his instructions and that priceless example the lord wants Uddhava to demonstrate to demonstrate not just for proving his transcendence or anything like that but actually for for enlightening other people as we will see that Uddhava was told to go to the sages in holy places and tell them about the lord’s message by which they would become illumined and then Uddhava could come back to Krishna so similarly Krishna gives his message and he gives his holy name gives his remembrance and through it we can rise above the calamity that this age is going to bring about so all auspiciousness is destroyed when the lord departs but actually the lord doesn’t depart from our heart at any time and of course he may depart from our conscious awareness when we consider other things more important than him and then that is the kind of auspiciousness that we bring upon ourselves by letting other things dominate our consciousness and thereby displacing him from there and that sort of domination of our consciousness by worldly things is the cause of nakshatamangala is the cause of inauspiciousness destruction of auspiciousness for us so though Krishna’s pastimes are as per a schedule and they end at a particular time but Krishna’s presence in the heart is always there and his message enables us to take shelter of him and to gradually become more increasingly aware of his presence and as we become more and more aware of his presence actually the sarvamangala supreme auspiciousness will manifest in our life so the departure of the lord is a forceful impetus for the taking his shelter in manifestations that will never depart manifestation of his message of wisdom and the manifestation of his immanent form as the super soul in the heart and through these we can always have auspiciousness in our life thank you
