Can some people be so scarred as to be incapable of practicing spiritual life?
So, if some people are too scarred by their past, they just can't take to spirituality because of the scars. So, what to do? The scars cannot stop a person from practicing spirituality, but it can very much deter them. So, when that happens, it's important for us to connect with them at whatever level they are accessing.
That means, if some people ask me, it's a time in life that they can actually… So, sometimes we just have to be emotionally there for them. And at that time, you can just feel that, I met a nice person. I met this nice person.
That itself is good for them because different people will evolve at different paces. Sometimes we think that everybody has to grow at the same pace as which I am going. Spirituality is a multi-lifetime process.
It's not necessary that everyone has to take up in this lifetime. They may take up in this lifetime, they may take up later. So, usually when they are interacting with others, we want them to become devotees.
That is good. But at the same time, what we should see is that if they are not ready to become devotees, at the very least, let them feel that devotees are nice people. So, eventually, when the spiritual instinct awakens within them, that time they will turn towards Krishna.
Don't disturb people. One understanding of that is that we can't force people to grow faster than what they are ready. So, their scars will take time to heal.
And sometimes, if in the devotee circle, among senior devotees, if we know someone who has gone through similar experiences, maybe their guidance we can take. Somebody has lost a loved one. Somebody has had experience of abuse as a child.
There are so many things, problems can be there. So, maybe those people who have gone through something similar, then we can connect them with that kind of mind. They will see that suffering torments us by isolating us.
I mean, that means, no one is suffering like me. Oh, I am so unfortunate. That's how suffering isolates us and it torments us.
But then you can say, okay, others have also gone through this. And then they have found Shaitan and Krishna. So, let me, I can also find Shaitan and Krishna.
So, you know, if somebody has gone very deeply scarred, they may appreciate what we speak to them in a superficial sense. But they feel, you have not gone through what I have gone. So, now, if we can find out in devotee circles, those who have gone through something similar, and our moment is a big moment.
And there may be some people like that also. That means we are going to connect them. Otherwise, let them grow at their pace.
