CC daily 12 – M 4.37-40 – Devotee’s love pulls Krishna out of concealment

Chaitanya Chaitanya Ambed, Madhya Lila 4.37 Gramere loka aniyama kadha kunja halte, parvat parilaiya rakha bhala maite. Krishna has come here in the dream of Madhavendra Puri and is speaking to him, addressing him, requesting him, instructing him. The mode will become clear as we move forward here the previous was the Lord said that I am in great great misery, maha dukkha bhai, now he is saying therefore you should rescue me you should help me so now Krishna is asking Madhavendra Puri to do this but although he himself is the Supreme Lord and he is revealing himself to Madhavendra Puri but he is performing a leela so he wants to engage as many people many more people in the leela but he wants to give the central credit to Madhavendra Puri so the Lord can come himself out of the out of the bush also the Lord can empower Krishna can empower Madhavendra Puri to lift a huge duty also but Krishna wants Madhavendra Puri's fame to be spread and people to be engaged in bhakti so he now he tells that get the people from the village and lift me out of this place out of this bush where I am exposed to all the elements and let them take me to the top of the mountain near Govardhan mountain and he says rakhe bhala mate on top of that mountain you place me properly place me properly that what does it mean that will be elaborated in the next verse ek matha kari taha kara sthapan bahushitala jale kara shriyanga marjan ek matha kari taha so establish a matha over there now normally now a days we use the word matha to often refer to monastery or a place where priest stay but matha is a place essentially where the Lord stays and then his servants also stay so Krishna is telling here ek matha that means its similar to ek mandiraka build a temple over there and establish me kara sthapan so to the installation ceremony Krishna is telling over there although Krishna has manifested an extraordinary way over here that does not mean that the standard processes as given in the scriptures for installing the deity will be bypassed he says no perform the festival kara sthapan establish me properly and then after making this request he makes a specific more request also bahushitala jale kara shriyanga marjan bahushitala lots of cold water now this pastime happened in summer so the Lord is feeling heat because of the summer and he is saying that therefore bathe me in cold water kara marjan so perform the abhishek using lots of cold water and that is this particular detail now at this point the summer the detail that this happened in summer is not mentioned nor is any specific reason explained for this request of bathing with water it is just that the deity because of being exposed to the elements is unclean deity from the transcendental point of view is always clean but from the point of view of offering those an opportunity to do service to the Lord so Krishna as his deity lets himself seemingly get affected by material things such as dirt and thus he gives the opportunity to render intimate services to him like bathing so if only bathing was required then there was no need to mention shitala jale and that it can just be jale but bahushitala jale it mentioned that with a lot of cold water why because the Lord is hot and this particular detail will be will achieve a lot of significance when the Lord requests to get chandan because chandan is also cooling so in many stories in good good stories good novels there is something called foretelling foretelling means that giving an indication dropping an hint of what is going to happen in the future so for example if in the opening scene of a drama of a novel gun is shown then it is understood that that gun will be fired later so like that this would so that is foretelling so their foretelling is happening that but this request of bahushitala jale get a lot of cold water that particular detail will be like a clue an advance clue for it as the foretelling of the eventual request for getting chandan that will reveal further the glories of Madhavendra Puri to the world as he moves forward and the Lord makes some other request also and now he is made this extraordinary request but then the Lord speaks his heart and he talks about his intimate relationship with his devotee now it's interesting Krishna has come in his dream and Krishna is a boy over there who is holding Madhavendra Puri's hand and Krishna is pointing to the bushes to take it over there and he's saying there also I am there so Krishna has expanded from the deity form and come out now the question may come that if the Lord could have come out and informed others about his misplight we could say transcendentally then why didn't he do it earlier why didn't he tell someone else that I am over here why is he telling Madhavendra Puri now so that is revealing over here now bahudina tomara patha kari nirikshan kabe asi madhavaama karibe sevan the Lord is saying how sweet is the relationship between the Lord and devotee Krishna is saying over here bahudina for many days karaha nirikshan I have been kari nirikshan I have been waiting for you tomara patha when we when say wife loves her husband and husband has gone far away then she watches the road when will my husband come back similarly with any loving relationships the Lord is actually in a very poetic way in a visually evocative and a poetically powerful way telling that I was anticipating your coming I was waiting for your coming I was watching the path when you will come karaha nirikshan so kari nirikshan tomara patha kari nirikshan I have been observing your path when will your path come to me kabe asi madhavaama karibe sevan when will Madhava now Madhavendra Puri is the honorific the Puri is honorific and Madhavendra so the Lord is shortening that and referring to him intimately Madhava oh my Madhava when will he karibe sevan when will he come to me and when will he serve me so earlier it might seem that the Lord is in a plight and the Lord needs help but now he is telling that this is actually whole an opportunity for us to serve him and now he reveals the supreme position here and he also through that glorifies Madhavendra Puri 40th verse tomara prema vashe kari seva angikar darshan diya nisthari basakal sansar tomara prema vashe being controlled by your love so kari seva angikar I am accepting service because I am conquered by your love so here he has revealed the reason why he did not come why he did not tell someone before that that is because I want the Lord was waiting he wanted he is conquered by the love and a devotee loves the Lord what does the devotee want to do he wants to serve the Lord and when the Lord sees when Krishna sees when the devotee is so eager to serve me wants to reward service to that devotee it's a privilege to be able to render service to the Lord it's a privilege to serve the deity and he's saying I want to grant this privilege to you that's why I was waiting and how am I now giving you opportunity to serve darshan diya I have given my personal darshan to you and darshan of the deity will also be given so because of my desire to reward service to you I will give darshan not only to you that by giving darshan nisthari basakal sansar by which the whole world sansar will be delivered or taking darshan of the deity is an extremely auspicious it can help us become liberated from material existence because when we take darshan of the deity with a devotional heart our attraction to the Lord increases and when the attraction increases we move closer and closer to him and we eventually attain him and in this way those who attain him they become liberated from samsara so here we see that the loving reciprocation between the Lord and the devotee it is not just a self-contained reciprocation or self-centered reciprocation which doesn't concern the world when the devotee loves the Lord and the Lord manifests in reciprocation to the love of the devotee then through that manifestation the whole world benefits and here Krishna is telling Madhavendra Puri that because tumhara prema vashe I was conquered by your love so by your love it was the control of your love that forced me you could say vashe vashe means control it was that it was your love that pulled me out of the thicket and made me come here and made me tell you this information so that I could give darshan to you and to the whole world and thus deliver the whole world such is the sweetness of the loving reciprocation between Krishna and his devotees thank you.
