CC daily 168 – 6.246-252 – Devotees anticipate the Lord’s actions and serve him proactively

Chetan Charita Amrit Madhya Leela text 6.246 The Liberation of Sarovam Bhattacharya Tumi Mahabhagwata Amitarka Andhe Rabho Kripa Kailam Aur Tomara Sambandhe so here Sarovam Bhattacharya is speaking to Gopinath Acharya and he is saying that you are a great devotee, you are a Mahabhagwata in contrast Amitarka Andhe I was blinded by logic and Prabho Kripa Kailam Aur Tomara Sambandhe because I was related to you so Lord Chetan Mahaprabhu had mercy on me so essentially Sarovam Bhattacharya is not looking at all the material ways in which he is superior to Gopinath Acharya he is not thinking of intellectual perspective from the political or religious institutional perspective he is thinking simply from the transcendental devotional perspective he is saying that you are Mahabhagwata, you are an exalted devotee and I was blinded to the glory of the path of devotion by my over reliance on logic Amitarka Andhe logic is useful, logic is valuable in discerning right from wrong at the same time logic in and of itself cannot give us the highest understanding or even the complete understanding for that we need to go beyond logic towards the leap of faith towards yes there can be some amount of logic but after that based on that logic we eventually have to take a leap of faith we have to approach the Lord with devotion and surrender to him and putting aside our own ideas of what is right and wrong we need to beseech the Lord Prabhu Kripa Kaila More Tomare Sambandhe the Lord had mercy on me Prabhu Kripa Kaila why did he choose to have mercy on me? More Tomare Sambandhe because I was related to you so you see it is not that any of my material qualifications pleased the Lord rather it was the simple connection that I had with you that was what made the Lord merciful to me so even those who are materially connected with devotees become the objects of the mercy of the Lord because they see that Krishna the Lord is because the devotees they want the blessing of devotion to be bestowed on everyone and especially to be bestowed on those with whom they have an affectionate relationship so naturally they want their loved ones to be blessed with devotion so Gopinathacharya desired that Sarvabhauma be blessed and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in order to fulfill Sarvabhauma Gopinathacharya's desire to address his concern he Chaitanya Mahaprabhu bestowed mercy on Sarvabhauma this is how Sarvabhauma is actually glorifying Gopinathacharya and now Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was extremely pleased with this humble statement Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was delighted to see Chaitanya Mahaprabhu always wants to glorify his devotees in fact he has descended himself to glorify the topmost devotee Srimati Radharani and he always wants to glorify devotees so when he saw that Sarvabhauma Gopinathacharya has understood his devotional intention and was appreciating that and was appreciating was humbly appreciating Gopinathacharya Chaitanya Mahaprabhu became very pleased and then he hugged Lord Chaitanya he hugged Sarvabhauma and then he knew that Sarvabhauma directly come to take darshan to his place so he said now you please go and take Ishwara darshan please go and take darshan of Lord Chaitanya so Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appreciated Sarvabhauma Gopinathacharya's devotional sentiments but at the same time he showed due deference to the cultural and traditional models and those models centered on recognizing that the Lord needs to be respected that the devotees need to be respected that the Lord too needs to be respected he said please go and take darshan of the Lord Jagadananda Damodar Dui Sangeleya Gharayail Bhattacharya Jagannath Dekhiya so Jagannath Dekhiya after seeing Jagannath then with Jagadananda and Damodar Dui Sangeleya these were two of the associates of Lord Chaitanya who had come with him he took them and he came to his own house Uttama Uttama Prasad Bahuta Anila Nija Viprahate Dui Jana Sange Dila so he had brought excellent quality and abundant quantity of the opulent Prasad of Lord Jagannath Uttama Uttama Prasad high quality Bahuta Anila and Nija Viprahate so Dui Jana Sange Dila so when they were going back to Lord Chaitanya he had his own Brahmin assistant he sent the Brahmin assistant with Jagadananda and Damodar to carry the Prasad to Lord Chaitanya Prabhu Stane Ayila Dui Prasad Patri Laiya Mukunda Datta Patri Neela Taare Hatte Paiya and now Jagadananda and Damodar they went to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and they took the Prasad on a leaf palm leaf and on that palm leaf they were about to give the Prasad to Lord Chaitanya but before before they could give the Prasad what happened was Mukunda Datta was there and he saw something special he saw that there was something special on this palm leaf so he took the palm leaf from their hands and he gave before they could give the Prasad he took the palm leaf from them Dui Shloke Bahira Bhite Likhi Rakhila Tabhe Jagadananda Patri Prabhu Ke Laiya Dila so Chaitanya Mahaprabhu then copied the two verses down and after that Jagadananda went and gave that Prasad on the leaf to Lord Chaitanya and he also took that leaf on which Mukunda had copied the verses so what those verses were and how they both please Lord Chaitanya and reveal further the devotional transformation of Sarvabhauma we will discuss in our next talk.
