CC daily 196 – 7.10-14 – The Lord’s external reason for South India tour conceals his inner reason

Thank you. 7.10 Since all of you are my friends, I ask you for one thing in charity.

And what might that thing be? That thing is that we are that I want to go you give me one charity Lord Chaitanya I seek not taking a superior position that I am the master and you are all my assistants. You take humble position saying that actually you are my that I need this charity from you. When you ask someone for charity it involves putting oneself in a very demeaning position.

So he puts himself in that kind of position and says that so please give me your instruction by which you can give me your permission by which I can go to South India. So so Vishwaroopa Uddeshi that Vishwaroop on the that I wish to search for Vishwaroop now we can see how Lord Chaitanya is speaking things so very sensitively. Yes certainly it's not that he had not a desire or intention to look for Vishwaroopa but by focusing on that part he is ensuring that he is exhibiting for all of us how we can deal with situations properly that he is saying that we can imagine that in those times somebody took sanyas like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had this older brother Vishwaroop his mother and father had their son and suddenly one day he takes sanyas and leaves home and those days taking sanyas was quite different from say in the modern day in Krishna consciousness movement sometimes some devotees may take to the renounced order some young people may become brahmacharis some devotees older people may come may become can become take to the renounced order in such situations we know where they are staying their relatives can go and see them sometimes but in the time when Vishwaroop took sanyas no one knew where he had been and what he was doing whether he was alive or not also what he was doing Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is saying that I want to go to South India to try to find out what exactly happened to Vishwaroop and to ask for that purpose he decides that please give me this charity that I want to go alone now it's interesting that Prabhupada Prabhupada puts in his translation please forgive me there is no literal equivalent to that in the Bengali but Prabhupada is actually giving us access to the mood I want to go alone so that is the mood of humility Prabhupada is conveying that by adding that please forgive me and he says that I will go to Setubandha in South India I will go and search for him until I don't come back all of you please stay in Nilachal stay in Puri I want to go to South India to try to find out what exactly happened to Vishwaroop I want to go to South India what exactly happened to Vishwaroop Chaitanya Mahaprabhu knew well that Vishwaroop had already attained perfection Vishwaroop had left the world had renounced the world and then he had renounced his body itself he had left his body and attained a transcendental destination so I want to go to South India I want to go to South India and that is why he did not do this but Chaitanya Mahaprabhu wanted to go to South India to deliver South Indians and therefore he did not do this he gave this pretext he acted as if he did not know that Lord Chaitanya had already renounced the world and thus he gave this excuse this pretext for stating that there is still there is as if there is something more to do and he has to search for his brother and giving this excuse he decided to go to South India and deliver, thus deliver the residents of South India.

So, when all his associates heard it, they were afflicted by immense misery, maha dukkha, nishabdahaila, they could not speak a word and sabar shukailamukh, and for all of them, their mouth dried up, shukailamukh, as their mouth dried up, now we can test these three symptoms, there was an internal feeling of immense misery, the devotees who had left to accompany Lord Chaitanya, and now this is what we say to Krishna, that we left everyone to come with you, so, we gave up everything to be with you and now you are giving us up, how can you do this? So, like that, these devotees are feeling that we have given up everything for you, O Lord, we left Puri, we left Navadvip, where we had our loved ones, family or friends or whatever, just to be with you and now you want to leave us. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was going to give His devotees, these devotees also, the taste of love and separation, just as He had given that taste to the devotees of Navadvip, although there is intensification of love in separation, and although there is a very intense relish to that sort of love also, but it is not pleasing, it is mortifying, it is very afflicting, agonizing, although eventually, when the remembrance of Krishna intensifies, there is taste there also, but the devotees at this stage are so afflicted by misery that their voices fell silent and they became choked, they couldn't speak a single word and their mouths dried up and in this way,.
