CC daily 211 – 7.59-63 – Our devotion is seen in our appreciation for others devotion

Thank you. Text 59 Text 60 So here, Sarum Bhattacharya is having His final words with Lord Chaitanya, before Chaitanya Mahaprabhu departs.
So, He tells… He makes the logistics, makes the final arrangements of the logistics. He tells, get some kopin and some other clothes, He arranges to have them got. He tells Gopinathacharya to get them, and to have them carried with some brahmanas, along with some prasad anna, some prasad.
And then, He makes a request to Lord Chaitanya. And He says that, in Vidyanagar, there is a great scholarly brahmin. And this scholarly brahmin is the… is a great devotee.
So, although externally he may seem like a shudra and vishayi, he may seem like a sanskritifier, and a person of a low caste, but my dear Lord, please do not neglect him. He is a great rasika bhakta. And on my request, you please bestow your mercy on him.
So here, we see the scene being set for what is going to be one of the defining and transforming moments in Chaitanya Leela. We will see how Lord Chaitanya arranges or how rather Chaitanya Mahaprabhu through the meeting with Ramananda arranges that the highest rasika truths are revealed to the world. Indeed, there are few things which are as potent, as powerful, as beautiful, as glorious, as thrilling, as enriching, as rare, as sublime, as spiritually revelatory as the conversation between Lord Chaitanya and Ramananda Raya.
The loftiest of all his etheric truths are discussed therein in a progression of spiritual revelation. And that extraordinary event which is going to happen later which will be described by Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami in the next chapter, the scene for that is being set here by Sarvabhauma Tajaria through his request to Lord Chaitanya. Sarvabhauma himself reveals that how his own conceptions were not limited to the rigid, caste stratified social divisions.
The fact that Sarvabhauma is requesting and making that as a final request. Usually, if somebody is about to go and at that time you make a final request, that often has a special importance in terms of the emotional value attached to it. Usually, the last words that we interact, we say, the last interaction that we have, that is the memory that stays with us, with both the participants when they later feel separation.
So, the last request that Sarvabhauma is making over here indicates how important he feels it is for him that Lord Chaitanya meet Ramananda Rai. There is a mention in CC that that Sarvabhauma and Ramananda Rai were blood relatives. Like Sarvabhauma was a Brahmana and Ramananda Rai was a Shudra, as is mentioned over here, Shudra Vishay.
So, Sarvabhauma’s appreciation of Ramananda Rai, and indeed he must have had appreciation, and a lot of appreciation, otherwise he would not have requested Lord Chaitanya to go and meet Ramananda Rai. Normally, say, if we are traveling somewhere, then when do we ask or not, if someone we know is traveling somewhere, say, somebody is going to Vrindavan, and then we say, please go and see the Krishna Balaram temple over there, or please go and meet so-and-so devotee over there. The idea is when someone is going somewhere, and we have great respect and love for that person, and if we ask that person to go and meet someone else, and that indicates that other person also we consider important in some way, in some significant way, and that is why we are requesting that person to meet.
So, what exactly is going on? It is actually here, Mrs. Sarvabhauma revealing how he is also, now that he has become a devotee, he is also Saragrahi, and he understands the great devotion that lies in the heart of Sarvabhauma, that of Ramanandaraya, despite his being externally situated in a Shudra Varna, and in a worldly political position. Despite that, he knows now that Lord Chaitanya is Bhavagrahi, he wants to see the sincere devotion, emotion in the hearts of people, and if he sees that, he is pleased by that, and knowing this, he wants Lord Chaitanya, he requests Lord Chaitanya that he should meet Ramanandaraya, and thus, that mutual association between two people who are immensely devoted to the Lord will be beneficial to, will be fulfilling, will be uplifting, will be enriching for both of them, and in the next chapter we will see
