CC daily 40 – M 4.156-161 – Krishna manifests in devotee’s ishta-rupa
Okay chapter 4 verse 156 when the servants of gopinath saw mahadavendra puri so then now the story of how gopinath had stolen kheer for mahadavendra puri had spread all the way to puri from remuna what to speak of in muri in puri itself so those were the servants of puri the servants of remuna they all knew of the remuna deity gopinath they knew about his glory and they thought that such a great devotee for whom the lord had stolen kheer surely we shouldn't put the law to inconvenience again having to steal kheer for him so even if he doesn't ask for kheer still we will provide him the kheer so not only sheera prasad they gave him biksha means now sometimes the word biksha is associated with bheek maangana begging and it is considered to be quite a demeaning activity could we say that they gave him arms in charity now the point is that different words have different connotations and the word biksha may in today's language connotations seem negative but in the past biksha had very positive connotations bheekshuk is considered to be a very respectful person because the bheekshuk is one who serves the lord oh sorry one who has renounced the world for a higher purpose so the autodh brahmana song in the bhagavad-gita is called as bheekshu gita so the word bheekshu one who begs we would consider a beggar but one who begs because the person is so absorbed in spiritual purposes that the person doesn't think about anything material anything worldly and does stay spiritually focused that person is actually very rare and fortunate and such a person when such a person begs that begging is a sign of that person's glory and in that sense it is not at all something to be ashamed of it is something to be glorified and so bheeksha diya means if to give charity to a bheekshuk is an act of great virtue it is nothing to be there is no embarrassment or stigma associated with that bheeksha karayila sayi ratre devale karila shayan sheshe ratre haile puri dekhila swapan so devale now the sayi ratre at that night devale karila shayan madhavendra puri went to sleep so the temple itself was a place the where pilgrim where traveling pilgrims could sometimes sleep and madhavendra puri was a special pilgrim of course he was a he was a law associate for whom the lord had himself stolen something so he was all the more special but so in the precincts of the temple he went to sleep and sheshe ratre towards the early morning hours towards the end of the night so the puri and the puri saw swapan he saw the dream what was the swapan that he saw now this is one more time the lord has come in a dream and this is the first time the lord has come to my in madhavendra puri's dream is remunam so the remunas gopinath tt has come in a dream to earlier but that was to the sevak not to madhavendra puri so gopal had come in his dream and gopal told him what did he speak shunahe madhav oh madhav please hear shunahe hear this karpoor chandana amipaila masaba karpoor karpoor karpoor is camphor chandani sandalwood so what the two things which he had been provided from puri and which he was carrying all the way back amipaila masaba i have got it already i have obtained it i have received pailama paila means to get all of it i have got it now you wonder how madhavendra puri would get the question that i have to go this was for gopal and gopal is in rindavan in govardhan and its interesting that this is not exactly the gopinath tt that has come in his dream although he is in gopinath's temple in devale of gopinath the specific the specific dt that the lord has come to him in a specific form and that form is not the form of gopinath but the form of gopal so it is we could say that the two forms are non different and its interesting that in a particular temple the lord does not have to manifest to all devotees in that form so for the pujari in gopinath's temple when the lord had manifested he had manifested as gopinath but when he is manifesting to madhavendra puri he is manifesting here as gopal and there is a purpose that he is that madhavendra puri had got the chandan on the instruction of gopal for gopal and so naturally now when gopal it is gopal if there is an instruction to be modified that same form of the lord comes to modify the instruction so what is the modified instruction that he will give now karpoor sahita ghashiye sab chandan gopinath range nitya karahalepan so karpoor sahita ghashi with the karpoor with the camphor ghashiye sab chandan all the sandalwood that you have got please rub it where? gopinath range the body of gopinath nitya karahalepan nitya nitya doesn't mean here eternally it means daily regularly till all of it gets exhausted chandan is not infinite so nitya the word has to be understood in context over here karahalepan now if madhavendra puri gets the question that how is it possible that this chandan was for you how can i apply it in gopinath so he says so he says that that my form gopinath's form and my form are one and the same there is no difference so therefore if you give chandan to him so my taap will also decrease, my taap will also go away if you just give chandan to him so it's an interesting point being made here you just give chandan here and the chandan will reach to me also the lord is telling him so the problem was that the lord's body was burning because of the heat and he is saying that that heat which was causing me so much discomfort so much misery that will go away it will end if you just rub chandan over here have no do not be in perplexity do not be in doubt do not be in any confusion do not have any hesitation there should not be any duality don't think too much about this have faith and give chandan according to my words so now here and the lord is himself saying have faith in me because the point is that when an instruction is given and an instruction is modified it may raise questions in madhavendra puri's mind in other people's minds that madhavendra puri has left gopal in vrindavan to go all the way to puri to get chandan so now if he goes back to vrindavan to go vardhan and then he doesn't bring any chandan what will happen what will people think of course madhavendra puri is not a person who will who is going to be swayed in his service by public opinion but still he may wonder that ok i am changing i have launched on such a big service such a difficult service and now the suddenly the service has been changed so should i change it have faith in me so now later on towards the end of this past time dot chaitanya mahaprabhu will tell the rationale why chaitanya mahabhai gopal changed the instruction for his devotee and we will see that as we come to it in due course but here we see that the lord reciprocates according to the devotee's desire manifesting the form that is dear to him and thereby gives instructions in the temple of gopinath the lord manifested not as gopinath but as gopal because gopal was the worshipable deity of madhavendra puri gopal was madhavendra puri's pranadhan.
