CC daily 82 – M 6.2-8 – Lord Chaitanya’s darshana of Jagannatha was dramatically devastating

Thank you This is Chetan Charita Amrit Madhya Lila 6.2 Jaya Jaya Krishnaskara Rajagoswami begins his chapter with the standard Glorifications It says glory to Gaurachandra Nithyananda and glory to Advaitachandra Now it is interesting that in this particular pastimes In this particular pastimes That is going to be described, there is no Advaitachandra over here But Krishnaskara Rajagoswami He is not considering specifically Who are these pastimes, that he considers Usually at the first Text of Where he is offering the prayer and the last Text where he is giving the summary lesson Or he is giving a summary benediction A phalashruti But in general he is considering those Vaishnavas, his gurus and other Insolvent Vaishnavas who have contributed to His life, whose blessing he Wants and which he seeks By glorifying them And then Aavesha means overwhelmed By love, filled with ecstasy Prabhu, the Mahaprabhu He moved on, now the story Had dropped off at the point where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu being slightly displeased Because of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was breaking his danda And said that I don't want to go with you Devotees said you go ahead, we will follow you Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went very fast And now he has come to Jagannath's temple Running and he desperately Eager to behold The beautiful form of Jagannath And then he finally sees this And Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is already Filled with ecstasy But when he saw Jagannath He was completely restless And the ecstasy Became even greater And when he saw Jagannath, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was in the mood of Radharani, in separation from Krishna So Radharani She runs towards Krishna After especially Krishna Has left and the gopis are hoping When will Krishna come back to us So it is like a reunion between Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, between Radharani and Krishna And so Radharani Runs towards Krishna To embrace him To be embraced by him Similarly Chaitanya Mahaprabhu charges forward So he beheld Jagannath And he charged forward to embrace him But now Chaitanya But actually The ecstasy was so much That his body couldn't bear it Falling unconscious is the body's Defense mechanism when there is Overwhelming physical or emotional Stimula When one can't bear it If the pain is too much then one may fall unconscious And if the emotions are too much One may also fall unconscious So here there is no emotion of pain or sorrow or fear Or grief or anything like that But it was ecstasy The ecstasy was so great that it was intolerable And Being overwhelmed by that emotion Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was charging Towards the deity to embrace The deity but he fell on the ground Now by destiny This is going to be a Greatly significant event That The way things transpired In Puri could have been different If Sarampattacharya Had not Seen Chaitanya Mahaprabhu In this state of overwhelming ecstasy Now this created a deep Impression on him And that made him very open to him Almost gave him like a protective mood towards Chaitanya Mahaprabhu And that served Chaitanya Mahaprabhu very well later In Relating with him in an appropriate way So that he could eventually convert him So it is by chance It can be called a chance or destiny It is ultimately Krishna Sarvabhauma He was there in the temple at that time And somebody comes charging into the temple Running and falls on the ground and falls unconscious That was unusual So he looked around And he saw Now there are guards in the temple And the guards are there meant to maintain the order So somebody just comes running into the temple And falls on the ground That person will disrupt the order of the temple And there are other people Might fall on that person Basically There is a place for offering obeisances But doesn't fall on the ground anywhere in the temple They thought that this person is a Who is this person? He is a nuisance So the guards were about to beat In order to get him To wake up and then to come to the senses That's what the guards So the watch The watchman He was about to beat the lord Means forbid him Don't do this.

Don't beat him Sarvabhauma was told Sarvabhauma told the guard So this is the first service That he performs to lord Chaitanya Without even realizing that I am performing a service He just Guards the lord, protects the lord from being Beaten and In this way His relationship with Chaitanya Mahaprabhu In this manifested pastime begins With him rendering some service Prabhura saundarya Premera vikar Dekhi sarvabhauma Haila vismita apar So now Sarvabhattacharya Why did you tell him to stop? He wanted to see who is this person This person doesn't look like a Like a person who is going to create disorder In the temple He looks like a very cultured and great person So he saw Prabhura saundarya What a beautiful person Sometimes when people create disorder They are often disheveled, they look disorderly But Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was extraordinarily beautiful Prabhura saundarya Premera vikar And as he looked Carefully observed lord Chaitanya He saw that his following Was not to create disruption Nor was it due to some Attempted imitation Of advance into the ecstasy It was actually a transformation of love Premera vikar Ecstasy produced because of his intense Love for the lord Dekhi sarvabhauma haila vismita apar Dekhi Sarvabhauma when he saw this Haila vismita apar He was unlimitedly astonished By seeing this It was no ordinary sight To see a person Overwhelmed with such high Grade of loving ecstasy And that's why he was amazed Who is this person And he looks so young, he is so beautiful And he has such authentic symptoms of divine Loving ecstasy Who is this person So bahukshane Chaitanya nahe Bhogera kaala haila Sarvabhauma mane tab Upaya chintila So bahukshane Chaitanya nahe So Chaitanya here refers not to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu It refers to Chetana, consciousness Bahukshane means For a long time Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was just lying there Without coming back to consciousness So as he was lying there Now the temple Had to be closed Bhogera kaala haila It was time for doing bhoga for the lord Normally when bhoga is to be done The altar is closed Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had actually charged towards the sanctum sanctorum Towards the altar In order to embrace Jagannath And he had fallen very close to Jagannath So the way he had fallen Closing the temple altar was going to be Difficult Sarvabhauma mane tab Upaya chintila He thought what Sarvabhauma started thinking Chintila, he started contemplating Upaya, solution, remedy What can be done now, he started thinking So This person has fallen unconscious And let the lord We don't want to disturb him But the lord's schedule also cannot be disturbed Shishyapadi cha dwaraprabhu Nilvahaya Ghare ani pavitra sthane Rakhi la shoya Shoyaya So what did he do He did another service to the lord He thought I cannot keep this person Who has fallen, I cannot keep him here And he looks like a very Great person, so I cannot just Have him thrown out And have him lay on the ground Shishyapadi cha So along with his disciples Along with the watchman Dwara, by there means Prabhu Nilvahaya They carried Chetan Mahaprabhu And they took him where Ghare ani He brought him to his house Pavitra sthane At a holy place Rakhi la shoyaya And he laid the lord down over there The lord was already asleep So he was carried and brought And he was kept in a proper place, sanctified place The point is Of conveying the sanctified place was that He saw that sannyas, this is a This is a special person sannyas So he Treated him with proper respect And that respect was shown by Laying him down on a pure place How the story unfolds We will discuss in our future talks.
