Dealing with conflicts by dealing with the mind – Hindi
Hare Krishna.
Welcome to this evening's programme. Today, we will a very important part in bhakti, relationship. And I will discuss some incidents of Ramayana.
And from that, we will see how relationships have walls and how those walls can be broken. In Ramayana, in different types of incidents, the main dynamic effect of Ramayana different types of relationships. So, when a group of monkeys goes to search for Sita, in that, four gates are made and these four go in different directions.
So, among them, the one who is the chief is Angad. And along with Angad, there is Jambavan and Hanuman. Now, Angad, Jambavan and Hanuman, these three from different directions, are very well known.
Angad is the prince. Jambavan is the son of the previous king. And now, Sugriva also announced that after him, Angad will come.
He will make him the prince. Jambavan is very old. Jambavan had a lot of experience.
And he was very intelligent. Now, Hanuman, till this time, till this time, Hanuman has done a lot of amazing things. Of course, Hanuman and his friends, like Ram and Sugriva, but if we see from his own strength, Hanuman has not done much yet.
Because Hanuman got a curse that he did a lot of mischief in his childhood and that is why he forgot his strength. Later, when Hanuman was going to cross the river, Jambavan reminded him of his strength. That is why, when the battle was going on between Bali and Sugriva, Hanuman did not leave.
Because at that time, Hanuman did not remember his strength. But still, Hanuman, who was very dear to Ramchandra, and when they were leaving, at that time, Sugriva, who was Jambavan, who entered from Ramchandra, Hanuman did not remember anyone else. And Sugriva told that if we want to search for something, if we want to search for something in our house, then we can search for five minutes, five hours, five days.
If we want to search, then we can search for five minutes. Sugriva told him to search for one month and come back in one month. So, when Hanuman went to the south, he went there for a long time.
After one month, he went inside a cave. He spent a lot of time in that cave. He did not know where to go.
Later, when he came out of the cave, he came to Satyajit. He was a little far, but he could be seen. And there, he came to know that the time was over and Sita did not know anything.
That is when he disappeared. So, Sugriva told him that you have to come back in one month. And the one who does not come back in one month, he will be punished.
His intention was that Arjuna who is alive, should be careful. So, when he could not find Sita, he searched for her. First, he did not find Sita and second, he did not come back in time.
So, what to do now? He was thinking about this. And because of this, in Pandavas, sorry, not Pandavas, in monkeys, two groups were formed. Two groups were formed.
One was on the side of Angad. And Angad started saying that if we go back, then Sugriva, we did not reach on time, we are always late, seeing this, we will be punished. To the extent that he might kill us.
And the other monkeys said, what are you saying? Sugriva is your uncle and he will never do this. But then, what happened? Angad started saying that Sugriva can do anything. The person who killed his own brother, the person who did not want to kill the person who did not want to kill his own brother, why does he care about any other relation? He is so greedy for the kingdom that he can do anything for the kingdom.
When Angad started talking to Sugriva, some monkeys got influenced by him. And Angad said, no, this will not happen. Sugriva was in the jungle for many years.
Sugriva will never do this. Some monkeys said, what will we do? We will go back and we will be defamed. It is better that we go back to the cave where we came from.
And there, we will live there. No one will know. Angad said, no, if you betray Sugriva, then the world will find you.
Angad said, this is what I was saying. He is very cruel. The conversation was going on.
And what happened? Angad said, I am not going to go back. I will take a vow. A vow means that if a person decides that he does not want to live, then he will fast with food and water.
And he will fast until his body falls. So, suicide is actually a person who is destroying his self-esteem. And it is considered a sin.
But if a person accepts this vow and he accepts the vow of life, then it is a good deed. Because consciousness is very different from this. So, Angad sat there.
And some monkeys also sat there. And now, when this happened, the monkeys got stuck in the forest. What should we do? Hanuman said, we came here to save Sita, but they died.
So, what happened here? I will tell you. When there is an incident due to which two people get stressed. Here, Sugri and Angad got stressed.
So, that incident may seem big, but what happens is there is a path behind that incident. And that path depends on the mind of the person. What is the state of mind? So, in the ocean, there is a ball of ice.
What is the ice ball? The big ball of ice. Himachal or Himachal? So, it is Himachal. So, when it is floating on the ocean, we see a little from above.
And what we see a little, we never see it. And even if we see it, we think it is small. But if it comes in the path of a ship, it is small on the top, but very big on the bottom.
And what is big on the bottom, it will collide. So, that big ship can also break. Many ships have been destroyed in the same way.
So, now, when ships come, especially in the areas where there is ice, there is a possibility that there is an earthquake. So, there are special sensors in the ships of today. There are such instruments which see the person from above and below the water.
And people can see. So, what happens is in our life, if there is incident, a fight, then the reason for that fight is only the upper part of the Himalayas. But there is a lot below that.
And in reality, what is below that, and how much is there, we cannot tell. That is why sometimes we say one thing and the other person whispers. What happened? Why are you so angry? So, in reality, there is a lot in their mind.
So, now, we all know how much our mind troubles us. So, our mind, many times, by delusions, it is like this, it is like that. One thing is that when we use the senses, the mind imagines that there is so much happiness in this.
Because we are expecting it. When we experience it, then the happiness is a moment. But the mind imagines that there is a lot of happiness.
So, the mind tricks us by by distorting our vision of the size of things. Which thing is so big or so small, the mind lets us understand its quantity. Sometimes it lets the small thing become big, and sometimes the big thing becomes small.
So, because of this, now, one thing is that if we are experiencing happiness in English, we experience a lot of happiness in Afghan. But it is a small thing. So, there is a little bit of happiness.
Agam Apayuh. This is what God says. In the same way, when we are talking to someone, there is a fight going on So, what happens is that the subject of Now, the subject is here is one person, here is another person.
And these two people are looking at this subject from their mind. Mind means our mind is a kind of a spectrum. Now, it is not a spectrum.
It is a tool to see. There is a kind of a microscope. What is it? It makes the small thing very big.
And the distance between the two things goes very far. Our eyes, if another object comes in front of our eyes, then the ordinary thing that we see, it is not like that. It is a little different.
A small thing can be big. If there is a microscope, it starts looking in the opposite direction of the microscope. So, what will happen? If the lens is made like this, the big thing looks small.
So, this is the situation. This is the matter of debate. But the two people are looking from the instrument of their mind.
And what does it mean? When that person looks from the instrument of his mind, then for one person, his mind is like a microscope. It makes the small thing very big. And the other person is looking from his mind.
He is looking from the other side of the microscope. So, does the big thing look small? When the thing is this big, someone thinks it is this big, but the other person thinks it is this small. Then what happens? They are talking.
One person thinks it is a big problem. Why don't you understand? It is such a small thing. Why are you making it so big? So, what is the problem? If you understand what the problem is, then you can solve it.
But what happens? Most conflicts are not over issues. They are over perceptions about issues. Many problems and fights are based on issues.
Everything that has been seen is based on issues. So, when a person is very angry with a particular thing, is very agitated, then we have to see what has happened. What happens now is different people have different natures.
Some people, if they don't like something, they say it. Some people never say it. But it doesn't mean that they don't have emotions.
Anger that is contained within becomes hatred. When anger is kept inside for a long time, then that anger becomes hatred. And a person will not express his anger.
But later, there will be a situation when he will say, I can't do this. And then, not only anger, but hatred will come. For example, if we keep some things in the ground, then those things that were in the ground, they will change.
If we keep something in the ground and take it out after some time, if we take out a mask then it will get worse. When we take it out, it will get worse. How does it happen? If we keep our emotions suppressed for a long time, then what happens? It is such that it does not die.
It stays alive. And if it comes out again, then it becomes even worse. So, when we keep our emotions in the ground, we see only two options.
Either to express it or to suppress it. We think of emotions in terms of expressing them or suppressing them. But, there is a third option.
It is process. When we express our emotions directly, then what happens? Many times, we will say such things that will hurt others. And we do not want to say it.
So, it is not good to express it directly. And it is not good to suppress it. Now, when we express it why is it not good? As I am inside, I am outside.
No one is as he is inside or outside. Now, this is a rule of nature. It is a plan of nature that we can see each other's emotions.
When emotions are expressed in words, in actions, then we can see it. If we can see each other's emotions, then no relationship will last. Because, our mind is such that different emotions come to us.
So, other people think that I think like this. I think like this. I don't remember anything.
I don't remember anything. So, many thoughts come to the mind. So, these thoughts come to the mind.
That is why, if we express the emotions directly, then what happens? Nature has given us a medium of protection. We use it. What is the medium of protection? It is related to time.
It is that our emotions can be seen by others. And what happens with this? We can express our emotions in the right way. This power is in us humans.
In reality, if we see humans and other animals, other shivas, then on one hand, we see them as dharmohite shamaniko shiksho. In dharma, we see them as dharmohite shamaniko shiksho. In Mahabharata, it is said that aaha, nidra, bhaya, maithi, all these four things are one.
But dharma is one. Now, what is the purpose of dharma? Dharma does not mean to worship in a temple. Dharma does not mean to go on a pilgrimage.
It is there, but not that much. What is the purpose? In reality, in dharma, just like there is the sutra of Vedanta, similarly, there is another text, the sutra of Mimamsa. Mimamsa, which has been written by Jaiman, has a Vedanta sutra.
It starts with athaato brahmajyoti aasa. Similarly, the sutra of Mimamsa starts with athaato dharmajyoti aasa. Now, you check what dharma is.
And there, there are many definitions of dharma. And Nihansh Chastra talks a lot about dharma. So, one of the definitions of dharma is that work which increases the satvaguna in us and reduces the rajoguna and tamoguna.
In all of us, there is the effect of the three gunas of the earth. So, satvaguna means, if I have to tell people something, it is very easy. What is satvaguna, rajoguna and tamoguna? If I say it in words, people will not understand.
Satvaguna means, thinking first and then doing. Rajoguna means, doing first and thinking later. And tamoguna means, not doing but thinking later.
So, in all of us, there is the effect of rajoguna and tamoguna. And the more the effect of rajoguna and tamoguna, the more we humans work for the animals. What does it mean to work for the animals? Whatever desire comes in the animal, whatever comes in the mind, we do it immediately.
If a cat sees a rat, then it will eat it. Whatever you have to fast today, if you are hungry, you do it immediately. So, what does it mean? Whatever comes in the mind, you do it immediately.
So, in the self-control, whatever you see, you have to do something beyond that, you have to think like that. So, what does dharma mean? Dharma means, there are different definitions. One definition is, whatever we see, we have to work only according to that.
Satoguna means, we have to work only according to what we see. Desire, then work. For example, if there is an animal in the desert, it sees a tree, it thinks that it is a tree.
But if it is a human, if it is intelligent, it will check whether it is a human or an animal. If it was an animal, then there would be some grass and some trees but if there is nothing, it will think that it is an animal. So, the power of thinking, whatever we see, we have to work only according to that.
So, we are like an animal. Whatever we see, we have to think about it. And to think, we have to work.
Then we will know how to live. So, here, a while ago, I was in London. When I was going to Cambridge for a science and literature lecture, then what happened? Our desire went from that place where there is a tree on the road.
A mutant was sitting and a fruit fell on its head. Some say that it fell on its head, some say that it fell in front of it. Of course, that is not a tree, it is a bomb shelter of that tree.
But that place, there, for science and science students, it is a pilgrimage, a pilgrimage place. You come there. So, there, if we see there, it is said that science started from that place, modern science.
But what do we see there? What did Newton do? Now, let's assume that a monkey was sitting there. A fruit fell on the head of the monkey. The monkey picked it up, ate it and left.
So, what did Newton do? He saw the fruit and thought, why did the fruit fall? Because of what did it fall? And from that, he proposed the principle of So, now, we see that the fruit has to fall. But we do not see the thing of gravity. What does it mean? How did science develop? When what is seen is replaced by some invisible things, then only science develops.
There are visible phenomena and there are invisible principles, theories that explain it all. So, in any knowledge, how do we manifest it? What is seen, we do not stay limited to it. Why is it there to be understood? Where do we replace the invisible elements? Who understands it? Knowledge progresses by moving from the visible to the invisible.
How does knowledge develop? What is seen, what is not seen, that is what we understand. So, here, I have gone a little far, but the point is that the responsibility that we have in human life that what we see, we do not know it based on that. If based on that, what is seen, what is seen is complete, but what is seen is not complete.
So, for example, what is seen is that much, but what is not seen is a lot. Similarly, if there is a fight about something, then someone says, this is such a big thing, why don't you understand? It is such a small thing, why are you making it so big? So, what is happening? Both are seeing that thing, but in reality, how are they seeing it? They are seeing it through the eyes of the mind. And one's eyes are such that he finds that thing very big.
The other's eyes are such that he finds that thing very small. And what does it mean, small or big? How does it happen? It means that all of us have our own nature. We have our own problems.
And as a result, all of us find different things very important. So now, I have a service, I do writing. So now, most of the time I write in English.
And when I write in English, when I write, I pay attention that the grammar, the punctuation, everything is correct. And as a result, a lot of people in India don't know much about punctuation. And it is one thing that they don't know punctuation.
And they don't even know that they don't know punctuation. So many times, when I come anywhere, even if I come to a temple, if I see a notice, then everywhere I see a spelling mistake. Now listen, there must be a picture of God.
Look at the picture. The spelling is wrong. So now what happens? When I see like this, thousands of people come and see that the spelling is wrong.
When I tell someone, they say, leave it, who knows punctuation. So many times, I find this very important. And others find this very important.
Why do you see a mistake? And I am not seeing a mistake. And how does it happen? Whatever our nature is, we don't have to see it, we can see it. It automatically comes in front of us.
When Pandavas were in exile, then they won over Draupadi in Swayambhara. And when they won over her in Swayambhara, after that, she was in the form of a Brahmin. She was in the form of a Brahmin.
At that time, he was hiding. Then he took the form of a Brahmin. So now, Draupadi had to know who is the one whom I have given my daughter.
So then, what did Draupadi do? The Pandavas were called to their palace for dinner. They were called for dinner. And when they came, there was a room.
And in the room, you sit here, I will bring something to eat. When they brought it, what did they do? They kept different things in that room. So in one place, they kept different books.
In another place, they kept different books. In the third place, in the fourth place, they kept the things that businessmen used to do. And in the fifth place, they kept the tools.
So like this, Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, everyone's things were kept here. And now, Draupadi, Dhrishtadyumna, was looking in the next room. The Pandavas came and sat there.
There was only one table where everything was kept. Five Pandavas got up and went straight to the weapons. And they were talking.
This is a weapon. This is sharp. This is not so strong.
This is like this. And they were completely lost in the conversation. They started talking.
And looking here, what happened? Draupadi understood that he is not a Brahmin. He is a Kshatriya. So how does it happen? Whatever our nature is, we don't have to see it.
We can see it. So if someone's nature is not then what happens? He can't even see it. Sometimes what happens? I tell someone to look at the spelling.
Can you see anything wrong in the spelling? Read it. Read it once. Nothing is wrong.
How can you see it? Then what happens? After reading it 2-3 times, you see it's wrong. So sometimes what happens is if someone's nature is not then what do you do? Look here. Then you can see it.
If you don't want to see you can still see it. I have a friend. He is very mature.
He used to say that we take different vows. He used to say that I took Karthik's vow not to find spelling mistakes in Telugu. Laughter Laughter He used to say that he used to come to India and when he came to India he used to go to Vrindavan and in all the notices he used to see it immediately.
He used to say that he won't say it. First I thought this is also a vow. But what happens is I started seeing it.
I used to see mistakes everywhere. So what happens is when we are good and we see those mistakes then it becomes very difficult not to say those mistakes. I used to think that it is so easy to change the mistake.
What is the big deal? I used to change the spelling mistake. I used to take a new printout. But others used to say what is this? What is your fault? So what happens is now when we have glasses of our mind then the spelling mistake is made by someone else's glasses and it is the other side of the microscope.
Why are you making it so small and big? Oh God! Someone used to say that thousands of people have seen this notice before you. Someone told me. What is the need to tell you? So what happens is they don't see that mistake.
So this is a example of spelling mistake. But what happens for all of us? Some things are seen immediately and it is meaningful for us. But for others those things are not seen.
It is not meaningful for them. And like many times when fights arise then that fight that has happened is not such a big thing that people get angry because you are not able to understand me. This is the problem.
The problem is not as big as the fact that you are not understanding me. You are not able to understand me. That makes you angrier.
So that is why today if it is happening that I am seeing with one eye that something small is seen as big. And the other eye is seeing that something big is seen as small. So if both of us have to understand if both of us have to come to an agreement then what do we have to do? We have to see each other.
This is not an easy task. But at least you have to understand that each other's point of view is different. And if from someone's point of view this is a very meaningful thing then yes if someone says why do you put so much stress on me? What difference does it make? So if someone says it doesn't make any difference, leave it.
Then what happens? You are not able to understand. But on top of that if they ask so many questions I am understanding that it is very meaningful for you. Can you tell me why it is so meaningful? So if you ask such questions then it seems like someone is very angry.
I am understanding that you are very sad and very angry. Can you tell me? Will you say it at that time or at someone else's time? We will have to see that in Desh Kaal Baat. But at least if we make the attempt to understand then what we feel is that you are making small things bigger and bigger.
So because I always keep writing so sometimes small spelling mistakes make me bigger. In the history of Europe there was a war because of a spelling mistake. So the king gave a message to his commander.
But in that message the person who wrote it wrote it backwards. So because of that it was not in English so I could not explain it. But I had an experience.
Once when I was in Pune I was running a magazine of Pune. At that time I had written that six session course conducted by S.I.X. So while typing I made a mistake and instead of S.I.X it became S.E.X. Laughter Laughter Sex Sessions Conducted in Desh Kaal Laughter Now one word is wrong one letter is wrong but what happened? Now Now when the print is about to come I do profiling one more time. And then I saw how big this thing is.
How big can a small thing be? So I got an experience because I have seen profiling mistakes many times. So others have no experience. So if they try to understand then I will explain why it is so important.
So in the same way if a person is getting angry then we have to calm him down. If he doesn't understand then what happens? At least that person feels that you are not rejecting my point. So now we are seeing that when Angad was saying that this woman is very cruel she will kill us all.
So if we this according to the rules of the army then what is he actually doing? He is an army commander and he is protesting against the king. He is going against the king. He is doubting And he is not doubting himself He is doubting others.
So when the army comes to such a person who is protesting against the king he is doubting he is protesting then he gets a big punishment. So here Hanuman doesn't make any such accusation to Angad. You are going against the king you are being a traitor No! Hanuman says that what is Angad? Angad is a child and he is 15-16 years old and not only a child he is a young man but 60 years ago he got a big shock his father just passed away and even though he is a young man even though he got a big shock he accepted his responsibility he accepted his responsibility that he is a search party he became a search party's leader now he got such a shock he is a young man and along with that the work he was doing even that has Yashin what happened in that? Yashin has gone to find Sita Yashin has called him and he is not going back so what is Hanuman seeing? this is the Hemashila from above it is seen that he is protesting against Sugriva but what is below? that is why when Sugriva when Angad starts doing like this and he sits on the priority then what happens? then Hanuman tries to make him understand but he is against it but what happens here? that Angad and Hanuman both Hanuman and Angad are also like this that Angad whenever we read Ramayana Ram is affected even if Ram would have hit the arrow which would have killed Vali Angad would have never stopped Ram the one who is angry is Sugriva's son so what Angad has this is the first chance to serve Ram and when Vali is angry he orders Angad to serve Sugriva to serve Sugriva to serve Ram and in reality Vali is completely ashamed of Ram and seeing that because my father was ashamed of Ram so the feeling of being ashamed of Ram the feeling of serving Ram is still there in Angad so Angad and Hanuman both serve God both are equal but now what has happened here there is a wall and there is a difference in both the difference is that Angad what is it? has given up his body and Hanuman is thinking what should I do? I am praying to God so what happens that even though there is a problem there is a disagreement there is a fight if for both there was a feeling of service so one was that Hanuman was thinking I will try to find Sita Angad was thinking if I don't try to find Sita what is the use of my life? what will I do? both are equal so what happened because of God's plan something else happened now many times we pray to God that I have this problem in my life please help me and what happens, we pray after that a bigger problem arises so asking for a solution to a problem is a bigger problem for example, when Dravapadi came to Durvasa Muni and he had to prepare food so what happens Dravapadi prays to Krishna Krishna comes and first thing he says Dravapadi, I am very hungry Dravapadi, I have not given food to Rishi Muni I am not able to give you food so he thought my problem is worse so Dravapadi went to God to pray to God but what God's plan so God took a small piece of wood a piece of wood and gave it to him he was satisfied but many times we have a problem we pray to God we hope that the problem will be solved but what happens a bigger problem arises so we ask God is he helping us or not what is he doing so what happens sometimes our mind gets stuck in that problem and if our mind is stuck in that problem then what happens I am looking at my problem and he is looking at his problem and if there is no solution in both then till the time our mind is stuck in that problem till the time our mind then there is no solution so what happens a bigger problem arises so our mind gets stuck and this problem does not get solved so what happens when the monkey sits here then a fox comes where was Vishal his name was Sampatti and he came and started looking at him oh wow means destiny has given me a lot to eat and he came walking and this monkey was sitting and the monkey came and sat next to him now this monkey had decided that he is going to leave his body but what happens one thing is that I am going to die and second thing is that I am going to think that after my death someone is going to cut my body and eat it so this Sampatti came and said you will stay like this and I will eat you and you will stay like this and when you will stay like this then inside he started talking and when he started talking he was also sad what happens from outside he had doubt but from inside he was sad and in that sadness he said it seems that in the service of Ram Chandra I am also going to die like Jatayu he tried a lot to serve Ram Chandra but in the same way maybe I am also going to die now what happens if we see in one way so at that time Angad remembering Jatayu and talking about Jatayu this is one Yugahind and who was Jatayu Sampatti and then Sampatti told him what happened Sampatti told his whole story when Angad was thinking Sampatti is so wise Sun had risen so Angad was thinking Sampatti, do you know where Sita is maybe you don't know so Sampatti told him that when I was lying here so I saw that Ram took Sita to south and he said that my body has become weak but my vision is still weak and with this vision I can see that over the sea Lanka has Sita and as soon as people heard they left the women and everyone was happy and what happened their enthusiasm increased so here even though Angad was talking a lot his service was still there so first of all he took Jatayu's name and after that when Sampatti came his service was still there he could not do God's service so he asked Sampatti and then he got full courage where there is no path there is no path so when yoga yoga happens coincidences are God's ways of remaining anonymous when yoga yoga happens then it is not yoga yoga when God does something we help then what happens when God sometimes comes in the form of miracle he himself comes he himself comes to give darshan and says I am giving this for you many times God does not work like this God writes a vision a letter comes we do not know who wrote it but we get very important information in that letter then what happens we get benefit who wrote it we may not know many times God sometimes works in a miraculous way and how does he do it he works in a miraculous way Prabhupada ji when he was in America he went for publicity he was in New York and that time Prabhupada ji did not have money to do publicity he had to do promotion so Prabhupada ji did not have money to print pamphlets so what did Prabhupada ji do he did advertising promotion he found the cheapest way what was that he used to walk on the streets of New York because on the streets of New York a person wearing a dhoti was very strange many times people ask who are you and as soon as Prabhupada ji was walking he was walking from one side and from the other side two people were walking Bruce and Heath and they were in search of Guru actually both of them came to India in search of Guru but they did not find a good Guru so they came back so now they were walking and they were about to take drugs so they saw a Guru and asked have you already taken drugs what is this and then a big car came in between so if a person is taking drugs he will not be able to see the Guru so the car left and the Guru was still there so what happened not only the Guru was standing there but the Guru was blind so he saw him so he ran away are you from India Prabhupada ji said and you we are not from India but we have been to India and then he became Prabhupada ji's first disciple and he did a lot of service so now yoga yoga what was yoga yoga it was god's help so if there is a problem in our life and instead of a solution a bigger problem is coming so it does not mean that god is not helping us sometimes the only way to solve a problem is to get the mind out of the problem sometimes what happens when our mind is stuck in a problem then the solution to that problem cannot be found because my mind is looking at the other person and the other person's mind is looking at the other person and the solution to that problem does not come and in some other situation the mind comes so what happens the mind is out of the problem we try to find the solution to the problem and the solution to that problem what happens the mind for one person has made it very big and for another person has made it very small the mind that has distorted has not distorted but the mind is still in some place so in a way what happens as I told you earlier if a problem has come then we try to understand why this person is not understanding so if we try to understand their feelings then it also helps but if it is not happening then many times if another problem comes it does not mean that god is not helping but god how will he help us how will he show us the way where we can find the solution so if right now Hanuman and Akash both have kept their service and when this happens then after that when all the monkeys go to Hanuman and tell him that this Angad is a traitor he will never come out the story ends the story ends and after that Angad also does not doubt Sugriva Angad with a lot of enthusiasm with a lot of courage serves Ram and Sugriva that is why sometimes according to the situation some issues can become very big so at that time with our ability we will try to understand but if it does not happen then if we have the feeling of serving god then with that feeling of service even if that problem does not get solved but the amount of that problem is not very positive that is why conflicts may come between us and other people but we should never let conflicts come between us and Krishna a lot of problems can come, a lot of fights can happen and when there is a fight one person is in another person and that problem is like a big wall and sometimes such walls do not break but no matter how big the wall is no matter how big the problem is any fight should not come between us and god god always is with us and when we serve god sometimes it can happen that some problems do not get solved problems do not get solved so because of that problem, that fight that that that that problem if that problem comes between god if it comes between us and god then what happens then the ashram that we have we are causing pain to their ashram so because of that our problem will increase the mind that misleads us with our delusions will mislead us more but if we come in the flow of mind that problem will not come between us and god God is a big problem this is a big misunderstanding this is a big fight but I can serve you so god will help us to move forward that relationship may be good may be not that relationship may be good but if god fixes our relationship fix then what will happen any problem, any tension will come with that we we will be disturbed we will be disturbed but we will not be shattered we will be disturbed but we will not be broken so bhakti does not mean that you come to temple and do japa or listen to pravachan or do seva this is very important but what is the purpose our identity will change if we recognise ourselves that I am her husband I am her son I am her mother so in this world there are different relations I am her friend, I am her brother I am her sister, all these are relations but if any relation of this world becomes our identity and then if there is any problem in that relation then our identity will be affected it will be threatened and then we will be disturbed but if we understand that what is my identity that I am god's servant and in the form of god's servant I serve different people I am someone's husband I am someone's mother I am someone's son, I am someone's brother I am someone's sister, I am someone's uncle all these relations we through different means through those relations we serve god so sometimes some relations are very deep some are very far but every relation we see in the form of service and we keep our identity that I am god's servant so we do different services sometimes some services are good sometimes some are not so many services are not good but we understand that there are many services in our life and some services are good and some are not so if we see every relation in the form of service and through that relation we don't recognise ourselves sarvopadim nirmuktam tat paratvena nirmuktam in bhakti we say sarvopadim nirmuktam sarvopadim nirmuktam it is not that we have to reject that but we don't recognise ourselves through that what is our identity? we are god's servant and whatever relations we have in the form of god's servant we do those relations so god will never reject us even if we have a very close relation and he says something and we feel very sad if he rejects us we can break but if we recognise ourselves through that relation then we will recognise ourselves a lot but if our primary identity is that we are god's servant and after that our secondary identity is that we are god's servant so this doesn't happen it happens but we won't be able to win machittah sarva durgaani mat prasadah god says if you come in my consciousness even if you have a big problem if you stay in my consciousness that problem can be solved so this is this god's consciousness god's service no matter how big the problem is we can overcome it saranshri I will discuss in this way that our relations in that when we have some fights so why we have fights there is a topic but that topic the perspective the perception there is a fight one person thinks that the topic is very big another person thinks that it is very small so if there is a big fight in a small thing so what does it mean there is something behind it like there is a cave it is seen a little above so we have so we have like when angad ayesha died so what happened he tried to leave the body and he considered sugriva very cruel and said against sugriva what happened, why it happened he is calling against sugriva to become but then he tried to explain to hanuman but he could not understand but hanuman did not accuse him so he was not called a traitor because he was understanding that what is the situation of angad he is young, his father has passed away he has not been able to fulfil his first big responsibility so because of that he is very angry so that is why if we try to understand the perspective of others if we try to understand then we will be able to understand others we will be able to understand others we are all according to our nature we find some things very painful so i am writing the expression is very painful for me it is not that painful for him pandavas had to try pandavas draupadi's husband which varanaka is it he went to all the four varanakas and gave the weapon so according to our nature we do not have to see we can see immediately and if our nature is not there we cannot see so we have to show so many times when there are fights what happens two people have this nature one person sees that thing a lot and the other person does not see it so what happens so our feelings we either accept it immediately or suppress it so what happens if we accept it immediately many times we hurt others and we also do not want to say so nature has given us protection that our feelings are not visible to the world but we suppress our feelings what happens if we suppress anger we become negative so we do not have to suppress it and we do not have to express it not expressing, not repressing but processing we have to think about it and we have to express it in a way that we can understand if someone is very angry why is he getting angry over such a small thing why is he getting angry that this thing is very important for you I am understanding can you tell me why it is so important and what can we see from his point of view our mind is like a spectacle and it makes some things very small and some things very big so the other person who sees it from his point of view we have to express it and by doing this many problems can be solved but if we do not do this if we do not pray to god then what happens there is a bigger problem but when that problem comes it is not that god is not helping us at that time when our mind is stuck in a problem then we have to get our mind out of that problem if there is a big problem then to solve that what we do we get our mind out of that problem and to solve that big problem then we have to solve that small problem so with the feeling of yoga our mind gets out of that problem so what is yoga yoga when god helps us then it is yoga yoga so in our life if we have the feeling of service then we have the feeling that how god will help us we do not limit it to our children many times god has solved our problems and when there are fights then if we are doing bhakti with bhakti our identity changes if we recognise ourselves then there are problems then we can break but if our identity is that i am a servant of god and all the relations are in the feeling of service so sometimes the service is good and sometimes not so in that way as much as we can we try to serve in that relation but we are not in that relation emotionally and god is in chitna so whatever problem whatever situation by the service of god we can solve it thank you very much Hare Krishna applause Question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question cough cough question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question question no i understand no yeah question Hello.
Hello. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. This is Vritya. And this does not change from Adhikamsha.
But in nature, there is a desire. Kama, Krodha, Loka, Moha, Madhya, Matsya. So in our nature, there are both.
Shraddha, Madan, Gopal, Bhagwan. So, Kama, Krodha, Loka, Moha, Madhya, Matsya, The way we work with them, to work for their progress, they will definitely change. So, that change should come.
But the Vritya, Brahman, Vritya and Shishupra, this Vritya, may not change. So, in this, what we have to do is, I told you, if a person finds one thing too big, he will find the other too small. So, both have to come to an agreement.
Yes, this is important for you, so I will accept this. And this is not so important for you, so I will not force you so much. So, Vritya is like, a basic level of cleanliness.
So, we can keep that much. And we can expect that much. But to keep everything clean, that may not be possible for some people.
So, what we have to do is, both of us have to move ahead in our relationships. This person's expectations may not be fulfilled, but I will not force him so much, I will definitely force him this much. So, we can come to an agreement.
So, how we will come to an agreement, what agreement we will make, that will be according to Desh-kaal-paata. But basically, both of us have to come to an agreement. If I have some nature, that means it is very important for me.
It is not important for others. So, both of us have to come to an agreement. I will not force him so much.
I don't think so, but I will not force him. So, both of us will increase in one's relationship, and the other's relationship will not increase that much. That way, we can make him understand it in a loving way.
That way, we can make him understand it in a loving way. Yes, sir. I don't understand what you are talking about.
Yes. So when there is a problem, our mind gets stuck in it. So how do we get it out? Yes.
So what happens? Many times, when the mind… Same question? Okay, go ahead. Okay. Yes.
So if the mind gets stuck in a problem, the mind feels that if I think more about it, then some solution will be found. And to find that solution, the mind takes a lot of time. And then we can't listen to God.
We can't think of anything. So what should we do? Yes. Many times it happens that by thinking, the solution to the problem is found.
And many times by thinking, the problem increases. What does it mean? When we are thinking, are we thinking in the Satva guna or Tamoguna? From the external point of view, the Satva guna and Tamoguna are very similar. Because the Rajoguna person is running here and there.
He has to go wherever he wants to go. In both the Satva guna and Tamoguna, the person is sitting quietly. In the Satva guna, he is sitting quietly and thinking.
In the Tamoguna, he is sleeping quietly. He is lazy. That's why the external Satva and Tamoguna are very similar.
So in this way, when there is a problem in our life, we are thinking about it. So how is that thinking done? What is the difference between the Satva and Tamoguna? In the Satva, our mind is our control. And in the Tamoguna, we are the control of our mind.
So if I have to find a solution to a problem, then I have to think about that problem. And right now, I am putting it in, but I can't take it out. But in the Tamoguna, the mind pulls us in there.
And keeps us trapped there. And what happens there many times? For example, there is an action replay on TV. So, the replay of the same picture keeps happening.
I said it like this. He said it like that. He said it like that.
I said it like this. He said it like that. We keep doing the same thing over and over.
But we don't reach any solution. Many times, the more we think about a problem, the bigger the problem becomes. So, when we try to think about a solution, we can't find it.
And by thinking, If we don't find a solution to this problem, then at least we will be able to understand it. This is the problem we are facing right now. And this is the result of this problem.
I will come back to this later. But the more we try to understand, the more difficult the problem becomes. And the more we feel uncomfortable.
The more we feel disappointed. That's why we have to see if the problem is being solved or not by thinking. And sometimes we feel that first I will solve the problem, and then when my mind calms down, I will worship God.
Now when I will go to the temple, I will worship God, then my mind will not calm down. It is better to solve the problem first, then I will worship God. But what happens is that the problem is not being solved, and we don't even worship God.
But if we say, now my mind is so stuck in this, that I can't do anything. I can't find a solution to this. So I have to get my mind out of this.
So how will you get your mind out? The first thing is that we have to do something on our physical level so that our mind is stuck in it. That is, if we are sitting at home, in the office, or in a situation where we keep thinking about problems, then our situation and mental state are related. For example, we come to a temple, we come in front of a devotee, we come in such a situation, that here we see something new, we see peace.
That is not the solution to the problem, but it can be the beginning of the solution to the problem. So the problem is that many times, our mind keeps thinking a lot inside, but we see something outside, we don't know about it. So if we get physically active, if we do some work, then our mind gets a little diverted.
Even if it is not towards positive things, constructive things, at least it has come out of it. And even in bhakti, if we find such a work, in which our mind is naturally, easily attached to God, bhakti does not do anything wrong. Some people are intelligent, and if their mind is diverted, then if they listen to some discourse, their mind gets diverted.
This is such a point, such a point. And whatever happens to the mind, it calms down. So what happens to some people by listening to discourse? They get a little power, they get inspiration.
But if some people are not so intelligent, then they really need the power to concentrate on the discourse. What a point is this? I have to understand this. So what happens? For such people, maybe there will be something else in which the mind will concentrate, whether it is in kirtan, or in darshan of God.
So we all have to see how our mind can easily meet God. And if we are doing bhakti in an ordinary way, at that time we have seen, we have investigated, we have come to know, that this is how our mind works, then we can easily make a lot of things available to us, we can make it accessible to us. So if it is kirtan, if it is darshan, if it is discourse, if it is meditation, then we can keep a photo in our mobile, we can keep an audio file, and we can listen to it, we can see it.
What happens with that? That we can help our mind to get closer to God. We can give it ease, convenience. And we give convenience by giving.
And if we have made a habit to do that thing easily many times, then it becomes easy to pull the mind from there. But still, there is one thing, when the mind is stuck, it has to be pulled. God says, there is something which is stuck to the wall.
So, what is that thing? You can pull it. Some are so stuck, that you have to pull it with all your strength. So it is called branching.
God says, sometimes, sometimes, we have to branch our mind away from undesirable thoughts. Branch means, we have to pull it forcefully. So, how do we do that forcefully? The powers of God will come on our head.
At least, we have understood the point. If we keep thinking, I will think more and solve the problem. But if we understand that by thinking, the problem is getting complicated, and there is no solution.
At least, we will be able to understand the point. So, we try to pull it. And, if we have to pull the mind, then what happens? God says, we have to do it in the first direction.
First direction is equal. First, a lot of power is needed. And that much power is needed, we think, I cannot do this.
But if we apply that power, then gradually, the mind starts branching away from undesirable thoughts. So, that power is needed, but it is less. Then, God comes.
So, first, a lot of power is needed. And, seeing the need for that power, sometimes, we say, I cannot do this. But, if we apply that power, then gradually, God comes.
So, firstly, at the level of devotion, how can our mind branch off in devotion? And, seeing that, and at the level of intellect, understanding that, by thinking, the problem is not getting solved, so, we can forcefully pull the mind. In this way, we can bring the mind out of the problem. Okay? Yes, sir.
Questioner- I have two questions. The first question is, that when a problem arises, sometimes, in life, in the long term, that negative something, which we talk about, we keep getting it. So, sometimes, for a few months, sometimes, for a year, the situation does not change.
In this situation. And, secondly, that we want to do something different. Intensity, or orientation is different, and the one which is happening, that is different.
This is also happening more. This is the second reason. These are both the reasons.
Now, let's move forward a little bit. What can happen? So, the problem lasts for many years. And, when we try to solve it, our aim is that something else happens.
So, at that time, how can we save ourselves from God? How can we save ourselves from God? How? That, whatever the problem is, the reason for that is not only our situation. Many times, some problems can't be solved by us. That's why, when we see the problems, that I did this, and this is the result.
So, basically, our actions are not the sole cause of results. Our work, that is the only work of the moment. So, even in that, our work and success, there are many other things.
What are those many things? That is our previous karma. So, what is the meaning of previous karma? Suppose, there is a doctor. He does some operation.
The doctor does the operation very well. But, while doing the operation, there is a complication of the patient. And, when the patient gets well, it gets worse.
And, now, the real complication, the doctor didn't do it by doing a wrong surgery. And, now, there is a complication of the patient. So, what happens? Now, in a way, the doctor's name gets spoiled.
You did the surgery, and it got spoiled. It is possible that it is the doctor's responsibility. But, if it is not, the doctor did the operation but there is a complication.
So, what happens then? Sometimes, sometimes, there are some situations when our previous karma is absolute. And, when it is absolute, then our intentions are not good. We don't study according to that.
Then, the problem gets worse. So, when this is happening, then we have to understand that we should at least be courageous. So, what do we do? I am trying.
It is happening. What will happen if it doesn't increase? Nothing. Nothing is going to happen.
In the last sentence, कर्मनेवादिकारस्ते, If you look at this verse, it says that you have the right on karma but don't depend on the result. Why? Because the result comes only from your karma. Your intention, what is destiny? Daiva.
Daiva is also a part of it. So, don't depend on the result. And why the result? I have done karma.
I have done it with such a good intention. Why should I depend on the result? Because माते कर्म पल एतू Don't think that you are the cause of that result. Because we are the cause of that result.
But we are one cause. Apart from that, we also have some other things that give the result of that karma. If I am going to do a karma, if I am going to get the result, then why should I do the karma? माते संगोष्ट पल एतू You don't depend on the result.
Karma is your dharma, your karma. You do that. So, what is the meaning of this? That even if there are problems, even if you try to solve our problems, and the problems increase, what we have to see is whether there is a problem or not, I am God.
And in the service of God, I will do whatever I have to do. And then we have to decide. Let's keep this clear.
No matter how big or small the problem is, the problem will always be there. It will be there for a long time. It won't make a difference that I am serving God.
So, if I understand that I am serving God, then I have to see how I can serve God. So, sometimes living with that problem can be a way to serve God. Sometimes, going away from that problem can also be a way to serve God.
Sometimes, changing yourself to solve that problem can also be possible. Whenever we have problems, we have three options. One is that we change ourselves and bear it.
Second is that we change the situation. And third is that we move towards that situation. So, we can do all three options with a sense of service.
And we can do all three options with a sense of gratitude. I am bearing it, and I have suppressed all my anger and anger. If I do it with gratitude, then all that will be solved later.
I can try to change the situation of another person. But if I do it with anger and anger, then what will happen? His reaction will be different. Or I will go away from it.
But what happens when I go away from it? One is to go away from this situation. And the other is one is walking away from problems, the other is running away from problems. So, when we go away from the problem, then we have to do a lot of things for ourselves.
We have to get out of the problem of life. That's why I am going away from it. But when we run away from the problem, then what happens? We are going away from the problem, but our mind is trapped in it.
And at that time, we have to think that we have to do something bigger than this. So, I am going away from it. I have this feeling, I want to go away from it.
So our mind is still trapped in it. So if we have the feeling of service, then we can think about how we can serve God. And then with that feeling, we can pray to God, we can ask Him for help, we can decide what we want to do.
So, how? How can we move forward in the path of God? One more question. The living pattern is very natural. If someone is on a journey, either from outside, or from the other side, it is very easy for them to get lost.
But, they don't realise that when they think about it, or when they hear it from someone, that it is the result of their work. For example, if someone tells you, it is the result of your work. And, it is the result of your effort.
So, it becomes very easy for them to forgive. Or, it becomes easy for them to forgive. But, the living pattern is very natural.
What is the problem with the living pattern? So, when we blame each other, and it is very easy to blame. How can we reduce it? On one hand, we can think that it is the result of our whole life's work. But, it doesn't stay in our mind for a long time.
It is true that when there is a problem, we tend to blame each other. So, it is not that we don't blame each other. And, it is not that we don't blame each other.
In general, when there is a problem, when there is a fight, both sides blame each other. We have to see that for my development, for my devotion, for my future life, what is the best way to think. So, it is the result of our whole life.
Thinking like this can be suitable or not. We have to see that suppose there is a citizen and there is a theft in his house. And, that citizen goes to the king.
he says that there is a theft in his house. The king says that it is the result of your whole life. It is the result of your whole life's karma.
Now, this is not right. Why? Because the king has to see what his dharma is. His dharma is to catch the thief and to get his property back.
Now, even after the king tries, if the thief is not caught, then only he can think that it is the result of my whole life. So, what is the result of our whole life's karma? We have to keep that in mind. We have to keep in mind that what is my current dharma? What is my current duty? What is the right thing for me? So, when due to someone we have been caught, then it is not easy for that.
So, we can do two things. First of all, till the time we are about a person, then we can that person for what he did, what he said. So, we can do one thing that we have to about that person.
And how can we do that? In our mind, our mind can be filled with something else. So, what can it be filled with? We can see. We can take some service, we can take some other responsibility.
We can take some other thing so that our mind can be filled with positive service. So, what happens? Sometimes, whenever there is some wound, there if it is fresh, so, if there is a wound just now, then we can touch it and see if there is So, suppose I have some wound and that somehow will be saved by time. But later I can touch it and see if it hurts or not.
Does it hurt or not? Does it hurt or not? It will keep hurting. And if I keep touching it, what will happen? It will be able that wound. So, sometimes what happens is that the wound that we have on our head if we think about that then we will say no, I will not blame him.
No. We will not be able to do that. So, better get the mind aware that blaming or not blaming is not easy It is not easy but by not blaming it is easy to not think about that person.
If we are going to think about that person then we will blame. So, if we do not want to blame then it is not possible. So, it is better that we do not think about that person.
And how does it happen that eventually sometimes we say that we have to forgive who has hurt us. So, we say forgive and forget. Actually, forgetting is nonsense but forgiving can create a new way of remembering.
Forgiving can create a new way of remembering. Means if the wound is filled after some time then maybe there is some mark left so that mark is not going away but still what happens is that if the wound is filled then looking at that mark there is no pain. So, that is why there will come a time in our life when there is no pain and there is no pain and there is no pain there is no pain no pain there is no pain there is there is no pain no pain there is no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain no pain I said, how did I say that? Why did I do that? Now, if I am saying this to myself, cursing myself, if that is coming between me and that mistake, then what will happen? I will never repeat that mistake.
But sometimes, this cursing yourself comes between me and God. When it happens like this, we keep beating ourselves. What happens because of that? We don't improve, we become more helpless.
So, if we are looking at forgiving ourselves like this, I will become more helpless if I keep beating myself like this. Whatever happened, happened. Now, what can I learn from this? What can I improve myself? I have to see that.
I will definitely try to do that. But, whatever is coming between me and God, even if my past mistakes happen, I will let my mistakes go between me and God. I will try to go between me and God.
If I keep that feeling, then we can move forward. So, one thing is that, we have mistakes, for that, we have to forgive ourselves. I mean, with what intention or consciousness are we doing that? With this consciousness, so that I can move forward in my life and do something.
With this consciousness, so that I don't even realise the mistake I made and do the procedure as it is. This is the intention. So, this is the intention, to move forward in God's service.
We do it with that feeling. Then, what happens? First of all, we don't beat ourselves from within. And later, we can decide that I made a big mistake here, so I should do some penance for it.
So, I can talk about some other devotion, I can do something. We can decide. But, primarily, we should stay close to God.
Thank you very much. Shri Prabhupada Ki Jai. Jai Gurudev Bhaktivinode Ki Jai.
