Gauranga Shata Nama 16 – The moving Lord meets the non-moving Lord
Ambulinga Bhuvanesha Kapoteshapati Kheerchor Gopal Darshan Sukhiyati Ambulinga Bhuvanesha Kapoteshapati Ambulinga Bhuvanesha Kapoteshapati So Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu after taking sannyas at the request of his mother Sachina Mahaprashaji who said that if you go to Vrindavan I will never hear from you because it is so far away, please go and stay in Puri because Krishna of Jagannath Krishna of Vrindavan is also present in Puri as Jagannath so Chaitanya Mahaprabhu agreed and thus he started for Puri and on the way because he is a sannyasi he wanted to go to all the holy places so he would go to various temples there and he would even go to the temples of Lord Shiva the three famous temples which he visited Ambulinga Bhuvanesh and Kapotesh so among these all temples are famous but the Bhuvanesh temple is the name Bhuvanesh has led to the name Bhuvaneshwar for the place which is the capital of Orissana in modern day India Ambulinga Bhuvanesha Kapoteshapati so now Chaitanya Mahaprabhu visited those temples and what did he do over there he would actually sing and dance for the pleasure of Lord Shiva and he would glorify Lord Shiva but Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had a proper understanding by which he would glorify Lord Shiva as not a not a supreme but as a manifestation of the supreme who is also a devotee of the supreme in Chaitanya Charita by Murali Gupta there is Shiva Shiva Ashtakam eight verses glorifying Lord Shiva which are composed by Lord Chaitanya so Krishna Chaitanya Ambulinga Bhuvanesha Kapoteshapati the devotee does not disrespect the devatas at the same time the devotee does not disproportionately respect the devatas by equating them with the supreme so when we see the connection of the devatas with the supreme then everything falls in place and we can worship them properly as representatives of the supreme lord and that is precisely what Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did that's why it is said over here although these are great temples with their respective devatas dedicated to Lord Shiva but here it is mentioned that Lord Chaitanya was the pati so pati doesn't literally only mean husband pati simply means lord so Lord Shiva he chants Rama Rama Rama so his lord is Vishnu and that Vishnu is manifested Lord Chaitanya Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went to these temples and then one was renounced the world and when renounced the world essentially means what it essentially means renouncing worldly happiness and the worldly happiness is centered on sex so renouncing sexual happiness so although he renounced worldly happiness that did not mean that he became miserable that's what people think that if somebody renounces happiness then renounces the world and that person will be miserable but he was not at all miserable he was happy what was his happiness coming from? his happiness was coming from the supreme lord he was taking darshan of the deities of the lord so Kheerchor Gopalan darshan so he referred to two different deities Kheerchor Gopinath and Gopal so this is described in Chaitanya Charita Amrit these two deities their pastimes and how Chaitanya Mahaprabhu took their darshan and danced for their pleasure is described in Chaitanya Charita Amrit chapters 4 and 5 chapter 4 describes the pastime of Madhavendra Puri then that Kheerchor Gopinath pastime is also described and then Sakshi Gopal's story is described in chapter 5 so it is said that now when he went to Shiva's temple he was their pati whereas when he went to temples of Krishna then he was darshan asuki he was delighted by taking darshan because here we could say at one level he was delighted by taking darshan of Shiva also because Shiva is also Vaishnava and so I am also Vaishnava that is true but still the darshan of the form of the lord who is one's very life the life of one's life that darshan is very special darshan asuki yati so as there is a renounced person he took delight in beholding the form of the lord as manifested in the detail of Kheerchor Gopinath and of Gopal so to the extent we seek delight in spiritual things instead of material things to that extent we also can prepare our consciousness for delighting in the supreme spiritual reality of the holy name of Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu demonstrates how even the renunciate's life can be permeated with joy by being centered on the preserver of all joy that is the all attractive supreme lord Krishna.
