Gita 01.24 The position of maximum visibility is also the position of maxiumum vulnerability
We will see in the future sessions.
Thank you Who spoke? Rishikesh spoke Gudakesha so when Gudakesha that is Arjuna spoke to Krishna in the middle the chariot was established it's interesting Rahati Mahatishandhanesthita earlier the Krishna's, Arjuna's chariot was described as Mahatishandhanesthita Tathashvetai in this way equipped with a magnificent chariot equipped with four white horses that was the magnificent chariot Mahatishandhanesthita Madhava Pandavaschaiva Madhava Actually it's going to be Krishna and Arjuna were there chariot is once again here described as magnificent but Rathottamam the best of chariots this chariot has a story of its own of how Arjuna had got it from the gods and how he was able to how it survived through all the dangers all the attacks the attacks happen on the warrior but in the process the chariot also gets attacked because of the chariot or the chariot or the chariot chariot dragging animals they are attacked the warrior becomes immobilized and the immobilized warrior is a endangered warrior mobility is vital for for the fitness vital component of the fitness to survive when mobility is not there then survival becomes very difficult in a war because enemies can come from any side and knowing that at a particular place a warrior is immobilized enemy forces may concentrate and attack over there also so considering all this it's vital that Arjuna understand that Arjuna had a very good chariot and he had this chariot now Krishna takes that chariot in the middle of the two armies now that is the position the position of maximum visibility is also often the position of maximum vulnerability if someone is generally there is in invisibility there is somebody shooting arrows or shooting bullets nowadays if the enemy is visible the enemy can be targeted and shot but if the enemy is not visible then it is much more difficult to target that enemy to shoot that enemy so for each warrior it is vital that that warrior recognize the importance of being in a strategic position where their visibility is minimum and still their capacity to attack is maximum so now when Arjuna has requested Krishna and Krishna has taken the two the chariot in between the two armies and here the situation is not just between Krishna and Arjuna there is a discussion that is going to happen but this preceding request or instruction by Arjuna to Krishna has placed Arjuna now in the position of maximum visibility he can see both armies but then both armies can also see him and therefore if any rogue element wants to attack him he is very vulnerable to such attack at any moment of course at least in the initial days of the warfare there were not many not many violations of the military code that happened and therefore things moved on and at this stage certainly because the war has not yet started they didn't expect that the Kauravas anybody would just suddenly shoot Arjuna but the fact remains that Arjuna was not just vulnerable to attack by weapons and missiles from the opponents he was also vulnerable to verbal attacks as might happen when he broke down a war a war field is a place where everybody has to be tough its war is ugly business and this ugly business of war if anybody is pulled down they are pulled down forever there is nothing that they can do to resist being pulled down that means if one bullet, one arrow hits them at a fatal vulnerable part of the body they may die because of that and in such a place where toughness has to be shown if somebody becomes emotional if somebody becomes overwhelmed with tears, somebody appears fearful then that can be dangerous that can be detrimental to the overall well-being of people overall well-being of the morale of the army on whose side this particular soldier has become weakened and especially that soldier is a commander foremost warrior that person getting an attack of nerves that person getting overwhelmed that is extremely undesirable so therefore the key component the key thing to understand here is that Bhagavad Gita is spoken and Arjuna puts himself out in the middle his breakdown, his emotional breakdown is visible for everyone to see and thus he becomes vulnerable to their mockery, their derision when they see that he's crying he's putting aside his bow saying that I cannot fight although they may or may not have been able to hear the specific words that he spoke it is very clear that he would be affected by the kind of situation that he was going to be in that means they all should see that he is in a war field he is overwhelmed by what is happening and he is naturally therefore in a vulnerable situation but it is unless we admit our vulnerability we cannot access higher power if we think that we at our core our spirit that we understand at our core we are indestructible but in this world we can be brought down by temptation at any moment and if we don't want to be brought down by temptation we have to recognize our vulnerability and take shelter of Krishna wholeheartedly to the extent we take shelter of Krishna to that extent we rise to that extent we become elevated and to that extent ultimately we become liberated so it is vital for us to thus become resourceful in realizing our spirituality Arjuna's visibility and vulnerability will lead to his temporarily being overcome by sentimentality but from there there will be a journey towards his realizing his spirituality so he increases visibility he increases vulnerability he got overwhelmed by sentimentality but then he was empowered and enriched by spirituality how that happened will be described in the Bhagavad Gita in due course.
