Gita 10.30 – God manifests as the godly among the ungodly
Thank you Krishna continues describing his opulences here and he states among daityas I am Prahlad Vedic cosmos is divided into two broad categories of super human beings daityas and adityas adityas the sons of Aditi wife of Kashyap are godly and daityas sons of Aditi are ungodly normally we would expect God to manifest among the godly but God's presence is so pervasive and God makes himself accessible to all straight off people everywhere in the cosmos and thus his opulence is manifested even through the even in the dynasties of the ungodly so among daityas who are ungodly averse to God among them also the Lord manifests in the form of Prahlad and he even from the standard of the daityas he turns out to be extremely powerful even without adhering to the unethical anti-devotional conduct that is typical of the daityas so daityas value power and they think that giving up ethics going against God is the way to grab power Prahlad sticks to those principles of devotion and still gets power greater than that of even his father so he gets incredible power but only for a incredibly short time in fact and with all his power he is not able to affect, he is not able to assassinate Prahlad and then that same Prahlad who is protected by by Narasimhadev is then benedicted and empowered by Narasimhadev and he is demonstrated to be greater in potency not only than his father but also greater in potency than the devatas who are not able to pacify Narasimhadev he alone is able to pacify so essentially this extraordinary power which Prahlad manifests this power is an opulence of Krishna manifesting in the dynasty of the daityas so here when people hear about daityas all daityas are powerful but Prahlad is extraordinarily powerful his power is spiritual power that translates into martial power without him having to engage directly in any martial combat so naturally anyone who hears about Prahlad will be charmed by hearing about his about his exalted spiritual stature and that extraordinary attractiveness that Prahlad manifests that comes from Krishna that manifests the spark of Krishna's opulence and thus among the daityas it is Prahlad who manifests Krishna's opulence so kalayatam means subduer kalaha is time in this world there can be many conquerors and we can even have a hierarchy of conquerors where one conqueror defeats a hundred other conquerors but that means they defeated themselves by some other conqueror and while today we don't have don't have so much of physical conquerors we don't have so much physical wars wars going on with one king trying to overpower and destroy another king we still have say in sports where say one tennis player may rise to the number one pole seeding number one ranking by defeating all other players but then after that what happens this player who is the conqueror of all other players is conquered by some other player who becomes the number one seed and no matter how long a person may stay number one nobody can stay at that top forever they all eventually have to come back, come down and thus they all stay bound to this material existence in the cycle of one person pushing others down and then being pushed down by others so everyone is eventually subdued by time time spares no one sometimes in their sunset years some athletes perform especially well but how long can they continue that ultimately they can't win the battle against time so as the age catches up with them they are helplessly forced out of the game that they may love and they are forced to retire in dishonor because they hang around too long and became unwanted although they had been most wanted earlier in the same game time sends people from top of the world to out of the world in that sense time is the greatest subduer even those who subdue everyone else they are subdued by time apex 30 mruganam third part of 30c that is mruganam chimrugendroham mruganam means among the animals chimrugendroham mrugendro is king mrugendro is king among animals mrugendro is the lion mruganam chimrugendroham means that among animals a lion has a majestic ingate, a fearsome roar and a royal demeanor, ferocious sharp claws sharp tongues, ferocious mannerism and a lion is in all sense a worthy king of the jungle so basic theme of this vibhuti is that whatever attracts our attention in this world we learn how to redirect our attention from those things towards Krishna so mruganam chimrugendroham would mean that if people go into a jungle or people go into a replica of a jungle in a city say in the form of a circus or a reserve park and in that they see a lion that can be a special stirring sight to see a majestic lion and on seeing such a lion they may say that oh this is so attractive but rather than getting attracted to the lion specifically we can see that this is actually Krishna's power and grace which is manifesting as a spark through this lion so rather than getting attracted to the lion separately we can see that oh this lion is so powerful and how powerful Krishna must be and in this way we can be attracted towards Krishna vaynateyas cha pakshinam pakshi is a bird viniti is a prominent celestial lady and her son is called as vaynateya and that is garuda garuda is considered the king of birds extremely powerful unstoppable strikes terror in the hearts of the enemies of Vishnu for whom he is a carrier the mahabharata describes elaborately the story of how viniti gave birth to vaynateya how garuda was once a slave of his step mother with whom his mother had lost her bed but then through cleverness and through power garuda got himself and his mother freed and in the process Indra sent his thunderbolt he was to get the celestial nectar for the snakes who had been enslaved who had enslaved his mother and when he went to get the nectar the devas had guarded it and the devas were overwhelmed in fear when they saw garuda coming so Indra sent his thunderbolt to try to cut off garuda's head but garuda was completely fearless and he was unaffected by the thunderbolt and just so that the king of heaven would not be utterly dishonored so garuda allowed a small part of feather on one of his wings to get cut by that Indra's formidable weapon the vajra and then Indra was amazed and said let us become friends then garuda took the nectar and he delivered it to his cousins and with that trick Indra arranged to take the nectar away after he had delivered it to the demons and the demons were busy waiting and in that way the demons got the nectar but didn't get it garuda did honor his word by giving the nectar to them but they could not drink it so in this way garuda acted very cleverly in alliance with others to protect to prevent the Nagasarpas from getting undue power and then eventually he became a carrier of Vishnu so he is an extraordinary very extraordinary creature and he is the by unhearing about his exploits unhearing about his prowess when we feel attraction towards him we can see that actually the attraction is amazing so he arranged for everything for his so he is a carrier of Vishnu he can do anything practically and thus Krishna let the world know his love for for his devotees through the extraordinary mercy and empowerment that he used to provide.
