See, purity, how do we play, do anything service for Krishna purely? See, purity is not just the matter of intention. Purity is also a fruit of purification. That means, in the initial stages, it’s not possible to start anything purely.
So, when I am speaking and somebody is singing, naturally there is a feeling that people should praise me that I am singing so nicely, I am speaking so nicely. But gradually, as we keep doing this, we start realizing, I don’t know whether people praise me or not, that doesn’t give me as much satisfaction as I get when I actually remember Krishna. And then by that realization, the remembrance of Krishna gives me greater satisfaction than the appreciation by others, than the praise by others.
Then by that, the other motives, they start falling apart. They start going in the background. So, I feel that just serving Krishna to the best of our capacity and serving Krishna even when we don’t feel like serving.
If we do that, then purity will be the result of the purification that comes when we keep doing service. So, of course, we can try to be as pure as possible, but I feel doing the service is more important than worrying too much about the intention. We try to consider the good intention, but focus more on the service and gradually the intention will get purified.
