So, these are organs based on which, by our past karma, we have been given certain faculties or we have not been given certain faculties. So, that monitoring of that is done by particular devatas. So, the devatas are not the cause.
They are the channel. Our own karma is the cause, but they are the channel. It’s like, if we look at the weather.
In the weather, the daily weather, we say, okay, at morning 5 o’clock, here in G, the temperature is going to be 14 degrees Celsius. At noon 12 o’clock, it is going to be 35 degrees Celsius. So, now, we may again see a correlation.
So, it is not that 4 o’clock in the morning is causing the temperature 14 degrees Celsius. Or 12 o’clock in the afternoon is causing the temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. The timings are there.
But there are other factors which occur at that particular time and they lead to a particular temperature. So, the time is not the cause of the temperature. There are atmospheric changes which are happening.
At a particular time, a particular change happens. So, just as the time does not cause the temperature, similarly, the predominating details, they do not cause the motions of the mind. Rather, the inclination of the motions of the mind, they are happening because of our own past karma.
But at particular times, particular changes are likely. Just like in the early morning, the temperature is likely to be cold. So, similarly, at particular times, particular mental motions are also possible.
That’s how there is a correlation. But that correlation doesn’t mean that there is some other being who is making us dance according to their tunes. Rather, it is the tunes which we ourselves have set in the past.
Now, which tunes come upon us then, that is determined by our own past karma as mediated by that particular predominant element.
