Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna. When I heard his first discourse, I thought that how can someone be so happy and give such a sweet discourse.
It’s his cheerfulness struck me. So even after that I came to know about his life, in what way. He was a warrior in India’s Air Force and now he is a warrior in Lord Krishna’s army.
So whenever I come to Nasik, Nasik is my home from a physical point of view, but from a spiritual point of view, I see the Nasik temple as a battlefield of love. The message of the discourse is that not with struggle, but with love. With a loving environment, how can we show Krishna’s love through our discourses, the environment we have created in the temple, the connection we have made with the devotees.
The classes he used to give in Geeta Amritam are world famous. And many times I write on Bhagavad Gita, different writings, but he expands so much on each shloka of the Gita, that sometimes I am surprised, that sometimes he gives 10, 20, 25 classes on one shloka. And every class is extensively filled with knowledge and sweetness.
And I am grateful that he gives me the opportunity to serve an inspiring, exemplary, and great teacher. So today, from the perspective of Narasimhadev, I will not tell you the complete Leela, but from a different perspective, I was thinking that we see two things in Bhakti. One is how we should love God, how we should promote Bhakti.
But the second is how God loves us. And we can see how God loves his great devotees. So when I was preparing for Narasimha Leela, I was reading Narasimha Leela, I was reciting it, and many times I have recited it on the prayers of Prahlad Maharaj, and I have given discourses on it.
But this time I thought, after the prayers of Prahlad Maharaj, what does Narasimhadev say? What are his words? And what can we understand from his words? We will discuss about that. So, what is in Narasimhadev’s heart? In reality, the greatness of Prahlad Maharaj is clearly seen in Bhagwatam. How in very difficult situations, by risking his life, he maintains his devotion to God.
So after all this, how does God support him? There are many shlokas, we will not be able to take all of them, but today I will try to take 4-5 shlokas. So, Narasimhadev says 3 shlokas in the 9th chapter of the 7th skandha. In the 9th chapter of the 7th skandha, Narasimhadev’s leela has ended.
In a way, Narasimhadev has killed Hiranyakashipu, that happens in the 8th chapter. Then in the 9th chapter, he offers prayers to Prahlad Maharaj. Then Narasimhadev is angry, he calms down.
Then Narasimhadev opens his heart, and says, O Prahlad, may you be blessed, you are an ideal devotee, and I will fulfil all your wishes. And after that, Prahlad says something, which comes in the 10th skandha, and Narasimhadev answers it. So in the 10th skandha, I will discuss Narasimhadev’s answer.
And I will show these two shlokas on screen share. And after that, there is a powerpoint, which I will use as a whiteboard. Whiteboard means, I will write something on it, as it is being preached.
So this starts from the 18th shloka of the 10th chapter of the 7th skandha. So here, he says something up to the 23rd shloka. So I will try to discuss these 6 shlokas today.
About 7-8 minutes on each shloka. So after saying on each shloka, if anyone has any comment or question, we can keep 2-3 minutes for that. So here, what does Prahlad say first? God calls Prahlad, God calls Prahlad, So here, he says, Prahlad has expressed a desire, that, O Lord, my father was a very evil person.
But he did a lot of bad things to you, he hated you, but still, you should forgive him. So, God answers, Trisaptabhi pita poota Tri means seven, sapt means seven, tri means three So, for 21 generations, pita poota So, pita, here not only pita, but our ancestors, our ancestors, all of them For 21 generations, pitru bhi sahate anaghah With them, all of them will become pure Anaghah, aghah means sin Anagha means that you are free from all sins. If there is a sadhu in a family, if a sadhu or a great devotee is born in a family, then all those 21 generations become pure.
For example, bhavān vai kulpāvanah The way you are purifying your family. You are doing good for your family. And here Bhagwan is using the word bhavān.
So in Sanskrit, bhavān is a very respectful respectful meaning for the second person. In English, we say you. But in Hindi, it is túm and aap.
So túm means tuam in Sanskrit. And aap means bhavān. So here the devotee is talking to Prahlad.
We can imagine this picture in our mind. Narasimhadev is a great and powerful God. He is Narayana, Vishnu and Krishna.
And Prahlad is a 5-year-old child. And what does Bhagwan call Prahlad? bhavān Aap Prahlad jo ho, aap kulpāvan ho So here, what is Bhagwan doing? Bhagwan is not only giving the assurance that Prahlad’s wish will be fulfilled He is also saying that you don’t even need to ask. That in spite of that, your wish will definitely be fulfilled.
He is promising that. So we will discuss how Narasimhadev’s words reveal his heart. How Narasimhadev’s heart is revealed through his words.
When we try to connect with someone, it is difficult to understand what is in their heart. So we get an important glimpse of their heart through their words. So here, we often see that in Bhakta Bhagwatam, Bhagwan is prayed a lot.
And it is important that we make our devotion manifest. But here we will see how Bhagwan is expressing his love for Prahlad. So this is a shloka.
What is the meaning of this shloka? How? Blessing before seeking. So here, Prahlad is saying that I am asking for this. But before asking, Bhagwan is saying that I am giving this to you.
So in the life of all the devotees, sometimes there is a doubt. We say that we seek pure devotion. We want pure devotion.
What does it mean? That we should not have any material desires. But what is it? Even though we say that we do not want material satisfaction, but there are two things in this. Material gratification, means material enjoyment.
And material well-being. That even though we do not want material satisfaction, but at the basic level, we can say that material gratification is necessary. Sorry, is my screen sharing working or not? No Prabhu, it is not working.
Okay, sorry. That is strange. Okay.
So, blessing comes before seeking. This is the glory of Bhagwan. That we want to attain pure devotion.
And what does pure devotion mean? We are told not to go to Bhagwan with material desires. Keep only the desire of pure devotion. But still, at the material level, we need it to some extent.
If a person is always sick, if a person is always weak, if a person’s family is always unstable, if a person is always angry, then it becomes very difficult to do bhakti at that time. So, naturally, it is the desire of the devotee that the devotee should do good for everyone. And if he does good for everyone, then the devotee who is associated with that devotee, if a devotee desires welfare of everyone, then certainly, the devotee desires welfare of those close to the devotee.
Those who are associated with that devotee, family members, friends, the devotee definitely wants their welfare. So, how is this? In a way, this is a nature. This is only natural.
But in a way, this is also a test. There is an American comedian. He says, I love humanity.
It is only human beings I can’t love. I love humanity. But I don’t like humans.
Now, it is not difficult to love humanity. Because humanity is a large population. I can say that I can love all humanity.
But when we have to connect with a person, we have to do something for him, we have to listen to him, then we have to give up something that we want to give up for him. And that is not easy. So, what is it? We can say that the devotee wants welfare of everyone.
But wanting welfare of everyone is one thing. And doing something for the welfare of one person is a bigger thing than that. It is more important than that.
And when we try to do that, then how can we do it? In reality, when we want something like this, then it is important that we here Prahlad, it is Prahlad’s wish, it is a natural wish that my father also gets well. So, God says that it will happen on its own. You don’t have to ask.
Because there is only one generation, but 21 generations. So, this assurance, how is this assurance? The devotee feels that if you do my bhakti, you don’t have to worry about anything else. So, how does bhakti work? If a devotee serves God, then God says that you take care of being devoted to me and I will take care of everything that you care for.
Everything you care for. This is a gift of love. And here, Narasimhadev who is expressing like this, his intention here is to say that Prahlad, you don’t have to worry.
And here it is said that 21 generations. What does 21 generations mean? Now, we know that everyone has their own wish. Everyone is independent.
So, can God change someone’s intention against their wish? God can do anything, but God is beyond someone’s wish. So, what does this mean? God, in this way, the Lord gives so many opportunities for devotion and liberation. For devotion and liberation.
Puta, Jyotikaran and Mukti. God gives so many opportunities for those dear to a devotee that they eventually take it up. So, what does it mean? It is not that they will take it up forcefully without their wish.
But God will give so many opportunities that they will definitely take it up. In every person’s life, there is a chance to progress towards spirituality. There are many people who are not only interested in spirituality, but they don’t even have knowledge.
It is by God’s grace. So, if they get so many opportunities to worship one after the other then, eventually they will definitely take it up. So, God says 21 is more indicative than descriptive so 21 is more indicative than descriptive.
It is not like there is only 21st generation and nothing else. But it is said that Prahlad is the description of heart of God. Prahlad you are worrying about your father but I will be worried about your 21st generation.
So 21 is not a cut off point. In scriptures God is expressing his feelings through numbers. Now we say that we take one step to God and God takes 100 steps to us.
Does it mean that we take 100, not 101, not 99, we take 100? No, it is not like that. What is the feeling? God says that you want so much, I will give you so much. So here God is expressing his heart.
How does it happen? If there is love, then it is natural to respect and behave well with the person we love. But how we behave with the person we love is also very important. Now a man and a woman get married.
So if there is love between them, it is natural. But if they want to maintain their relationship, they love each other. Now a woman talks to her husband’s parents, how she behaves with them.
Similarly, a man talks to his wife’s relatives. We can see how much they love each other. So God is saying that this relationship is not exclusive.
It is inclusive. Exclusive means that God does not say that I love a devotee and I do not care about anyone else. It is not like that.
He says that this relationship is inclusive. God says that I love you and I love everyone in your relationship. So the relationship is not exclusive, it is inclusive.
So this is the first verse. So God is saying that there is no need to keep any burden on the devotee’s mind. I will take care of them.
This is God’s feeling in the first verse. Any comment or question on this? Okay. So let’s go to the next verse.
If anyone has a comment, you can say it. Or if there is a question. We will take it in the end.
Okay, sure. Perfect. So now, in the first verse, God says, I will mention what Prahlad has asked for.
So Prahlad says that I do not want anything. If I want something, I want to ask for it in my heart. I do not want to ask for anything selfishly.
But God says, still you should help my father. So he says, I will definitely do it. This is the 19th verse.
यत्र यत्र च मद भक्तः प्रशान्तः समधर्शिना साधवर समुदाचारस ते पूयंते अपिकीकतः यत्र यत्र मद भक्तः He says, wherever my devotees are, प्रशान्तः समधर्शिना They are very peaceful. This is their great ability And in a way, what they are saying is God is showing the world that when I will appear, you will all respect me but it is not enough to respect me You should respect my devotees And in a way, God is showing the glory of his devotees And in a way, what they are saying is The Lord appears and disappears Devotees will always be there There will not be one devotee But in this material world, God always sends his devotees God is always a devotee In a way, if we want to be pure We can go to the temple, we can see God We can read God’s book All these are important But in reality, our purification is mostly with God’s devotees So they are saying that If you understand the glory of devotees Then they can help anyone They can do good to anyone And in a way, I was saying that God is showing his heart here He is saying that I will help many people who are dear to my devotees without their permission And now he is saying that I am not helping anyone Devotees are so pure that they can help anyone So this is the feeling that Lord Vishnu is having when he is talking to the Chaturthi Kumars He is talking about the Chaturthi Kumars from his doorstep He is saying that the Brahmin devotees are the ones who are pure because they are with them He is saying that the whole world comes to me for purification seeks purification by coming to me but I seek purification by being with the Brahmin devotees Brahmin is not about birth but it is about qualities The great devotees who are living their lives on the level of Brahma I become pure because of their presence So in a way, God is showing his heart Now Narasimhadev has done such a thing that no one has been able to do Narasimhadev has ended the terror of Hiranyakashyapu which is present in the whole world in the whole universe Keep it aside about facing it If he would have opened his eyes in anger then everyone would have been scared Such a great person such a powerful demon would have been killed by Hiranyakashyapu But even after that he is saying that Sorry He is saying that his humility Usually when a person wins a championship he says I did it I have become such a great champion I wanted to show the world what I can do But in his moment of victory God has won in his moment of supreme victory he is speaking the glories of his devotees In a way if a person is a characterful person suppose he wins the world cup in cricket If you ask a captain to give a speech he will say it was my dream I have tried a lot I am grateful to my coach I am grateful to him He is saying that he is a character who gives credit to others But he is not giving credit God is saying that I get purified because of them So this humility is a sign and God wants all of us to progress What does spiritual progress mean? Spiritual progress has many levels There is a medium level What does medium level mean? It means God’s existence God’s presence His existence means His existence and presence means His presence In the medium level they perceive God’s presence in a temple When they come to a temple they join their hands Many times in the morning if there is a temple in their house they will go there and pray to God As soon as they come out they will start shouting at people If there is such a feeling then it is God’s perception But God’s perception is limited to the temple But the person who is doing spiritual progress What is the sign of that? That person perceives God’s presence in his devotees He perceives God’s presence He perceives that if he wants to connect with God then how will he connect with God? If he has a good relationship with his devotees then only he is progressing in God’s relationship And then What is the highest level? Highest level means we can see God’s presence everywhere in everyone Not only I respect my devotees and talk to them but I have to talk to everyone even if they are not devotees but we have to see that God is in their heart God is working in the life of those who are not devotees And Prahlad was at the highest level Do you know why? Because he was wishing well for Hiranyakashipu And Hiranyakashipu was wishing well That’s why he was trying to make Hiranyakashipu a saint And Prahlad was loving Hiranyakashipu That’s why under the pressure of Hiranyakashipu he didn’t stop worshipping God Because he knew that only I have one relationship with God Hiranyakashipu is a demon If he is going to come to God then he will come to me That’s why for Hiranyakashipu he didn’t stop worshipping God Because he loved Hiranyakashipu So in a way God is saying in this shloka that only devotees worship God I don’t worship God I don’t purify God Of course truth is that God is the source of everything God is the creator But this is the humility of God God is making us realise that if you want to purify yourself then you should respect my devotees There is a famous shloka in Puranas God says नाहंवसामिवैकुन्थे योगिनां रुदयेशुबा यत्रगायन्तिमद्भक्ता तत्रप्तिष्ठामिनारदा Sometimes to emphasise one thing we use rhetorical assertion Rhetorical means to emphasise the truth we compare God says मैं वैकुन्थ मैं नहीं हूँ I am वैकुन्था नो I am in the yogi’s heart जो योगियों के रुदय में हूँ No Then where am I? He says जहांपर my devotees are glorifying me जहांपर मेरे भक्त मेरा गुन्गान कर रहे हैं What does it mean? Is God not in Vaikuntha? नाहंवसामिवैकुन्थे He is there too But here it means He said, I am not here. Why are you saying this? Because we can’t perceive his presence there God is in Vaikuntha, but we are not in Vaikuntha Our consciousness is not in Vaikuntha Even if God is there, how can we feel him? How can we benefit from that? If we say, God is in the heart of Yogi Yogi is in the Himalayas How can I benefit from that? How can I benefit from that? I can’t feel God there But in the company of devotees What can we do? The devotee who is praising God We can perceive We can feel the presence of God there So here God, by praising his devotees By praising Prahlad And by praising the devotees He is making us realise That if we want to progress in devotion Then in the company of devotees We have the experience of God God is everywhere But we can experience him in the company of devotees That’s why the glory of the devotees Is being shown by God here This is the second shloka So what is in the heart of God? It is not his own glory It is in the heart of God That it is the glory of his devotees And he is being shown here So Someone raised his hand in the middle Krishnendranath, should we go towards the end? Like you mentioned That will be better Okay, sure So now The 20th shloka One more time So Suppose we go to meet someone And talk to them So If they keep talking about the same topic Then what happens? We realise that this is very important for that person So suppose I am in Nashik I am talking to Shri Shrikshashankar And when I am talking to him Most of the time If he is talking about Radhahant Maharaj About his Guru Maharaj Or about some other devotee About Krishnendranath About his Guru Or about some other devotee So We realise that If he is talking about this topic Then it is very important for him So in the same way The topic about which God talks We can understand that It is very important for God It is important for him So once again God is saying That my devotees He is praising them Sarvatmanana Himsanti Bhutagraameshukinchana Ucha Vacheshu Daitendra Madbhava Vigatas Pruha Sarvatmanana Himsanti The devotees They don’t do violence against anyone They don’t do hatred against anyone Bhutagraameshukinchana And here it is said that Bhutagraamesh Not only against humans But they don’t do violence against any living being Ucha Vacheshu Daitendra Ucha Vacheshu Ucha means someone is in a high position And someone is in a low position They don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone Daitendra Prahlad is a great devotee But he was born in a Daitya family So he is called Daitendra Daityo Ke Raja Daityo Ke Indra Prahlad Madbhava Vigatas Pruha Madbhava means His feelings towards me have arisen My devotion is in his heart So Vigatas Pruha Pruha means The desires That arise from physical contact My devotees are free from it So once again What is God doing here? He is praising his devotees In a way Prahlad If we think like this If we listen Someone is praising someone Sometimes what happens Even if a person doesn’t take name But still everyone understands That About whom is he talking That About whom is he talking If he is criticising someone Then we understand If he is praising someone Then we understand So in a way He is teaching Prahlad That my devotees Can’t have any feeling of Hatred towards anyone In a way he is telling Prahlad But in a way While telling Prahlad He is telling the whole world That the goal of my devotees Is in Prahlad Because Prahlad Never had any feeling of Hatred towards anyone In his life And this How is it possible We say We don’t have to Have any feeling of hatred towards anyone But how does it happen We have to understand two things That This Non-envious towards Everyone We don’t have to Have any feeling of envy towards anyone How is it possible It happens in our materialistic life Suppose there is a person Who wants our destruction Maybe there is some Hatred towards us in the family Sometimes it happens that In two families There is a fight going on Sometimes there is violence Sometimes There is a war between Our profession In our business Someone wants our destruction So don’t have any feeling of Envy towards anyone It is practical Don’t have any feeling of Envy towards anyone So there are two things In this The intention Is never to hurt anyone Action is to protect Those for whom We are responsible So what does it mean Suppose There is a police The intention of police is not to Shoot someone But the intention of police is If someone is shooting Someone If someone is killing someone Then police Will shoot him So the police Who do their duty If they kill someone That is their duty So now God himself Says these two things In Gita chapter 11 God says Arjun get up Kill your enemies And get this kingdom Arjun get up And get this kingdom Kill your enemies God says Along with this In chapter 55 God says So here God says Defeat your enemies And here Have no Enmity towards anyone Don’t have any feeling of Envy towards anyone How is this possible Don’t have any feeling of Envy towards anyone But defeat your enemies What does it mean Devotees Don’t consider anyone as their enemy But if someone Comes in between their duty Then they Do their duty So while doing their duty They do their duty According to their role Prahlad was a small boy So when Hiranyakashyapu was In his devotion What did Prahlad do He didn’t do anything But he was in his devotion So Prahlad Remembrance How can we be in devotion Through remembrance This is an example If we see In Bhagwatam 4 He is a cruel king So what is the example I am telling Dutifulness And Non-Enviousness How can both come together Don’t have any feeling of Envy towards anyone Don’t have any feeling of Enmity towards anyone But you have to do your duty So a devotee Personally A devotee doesn’t consider Anyone as an enemy Devotee doesn’t Consider Anyone as an enemy A devotee doesn’t consider anyone as an enemy But practically and professionally Practically When we are doing our work A devotee sees what he has to do So Prahlad He was opposing Hiranyakashyapu So Prahlad didn’t attack Hiranyakashyapu But Prahlad Remained firm Towards Hiranyakashyapu Hiranyakashyapu was He remained firm Very seriously But we see The Brahmins The Brahmins Punished Vena A king named Vena What was he doing He was doing atrocities in the kingdom He was putting people in the devotion of God He was saying What is the need of devotion of God I am the form of God I am Naradev You should worship me only When he started saying like this What did Ravana do? He took out one of his mouth and killed him Why did he do this? Because he had no enemy But when he was in the middle of religion then he did this So in our life we have to do our duty If someone comes in between then we have to do our duty But whenever the hatred towards someone in our heart increases more than the service towards God then we have to understand that we are on the wrong path Sometimes we have to behave like this and that So we have to behave like this But we have to understand that this is a moment It will come and go We should not push it We should see that I have a relationship with God and this person also has a relationship with God So when Prabhupada was promoting in western countries and came back to India So what happened He fulfilled the dream of Bhaktivinoda Thakur that the people of western countries should become his devotees So he fulfilled his dream and people were very happy Actually his Gurudev and Guruvar must have been very happy But sometimes there were some other devotees who were equal to Prabhupada They thought that who is this He was not a sanyasi He was a householder He has become such a big promoter So sometimes they criticised Prabhupada And their wish was that if we also have some foreign devotees then our reputation will also increase So they tried to pull Prabhupada’s disciples towards them by criticising Prabhupada So then Prabhupada for the protection of his devotees very clearly said that some people become jealous Some become very narrow minded Their evil body becomes So you should not listen to them Follow what I have told you So he criticised the rest of the devotees But Prabhupada never forgot that actually he was also a big devotee And when a sanyasi who was a Guru passed away Prabhupada had criticised him earlier But when he was asked where he had gone Prabhupada said that he had gone to Vaikuntha Because he had served his Guru all his life So Prabhupada could not have a negative attitude towards anyone He could not And even if he had to do something So what is it? If anger towards anyone starts overshadowing our remembrance of our devotion to Krishna Means if I come to the temple and this devotee has done this to me If that thought is coming to my mind and not remembering God Then we should understand that something is going wrong in our life Then we are in danger zone Means I am doing something wrong in my devotion I am doing something wrong It is not like in the material world every person will always be sweet Everything will be good We want it But the nature of the material world is not like that Sometimes there can be some problems, fights, misunderstandings Sometimes there can be a disagreement But if we remember that our main connection is with God And if there is so much bitterness in the relationship that I am not remembering God Means I am putting so much of my feelings in this relationship that there is a weakness in it It should not be like that That’s why we have to disinvest in ourselves That I don’t have to put so much of my feelings in this It is not so important Nothing is so important that I forget God My life should have the secret of God’s devotion So this is Prahlad had seen Yajyapi Hiranyakashyapu was trying to kill him But Prahlad never let the bitterness of Hiranyakashyapu come in his heart Not so much that he was angry with Hiranyakashyapu or he was afraid of Hiranyakashyapu No, he was remembering God And this is his glory So there are three more shlokas I will read them quickly And then we will see some questions and answers Bhavanti Purusha Loke Madbhaktas Twam Anubhrata Bhavanme Khalubhaktanam Sarvesham Pratirupadruk Bhavanti Purusha Loke He says that the people in this material world Purusha Loke Madbhaktas Twam Anubhrata who walk in the footsteps of great devotees like you Anubhrata Bhavanme Khalubhaktanam Sarvesham Pratirupadruk they will naturally become great devotees and this is a practical example that the people who will understand your example and will try to follow that example they will definitely become great devotees So in a way what is God doing He is saying that what you have attained can be attained by everyone It is not that sometimes I feel that God is in Bhagavad Dham God loves his devotees Does God even know me Does God my God Does God Does Krishna care for us Sometimes I feel that God is very happy with his devotees in Bhagavad Dham I don’t have that much devotion Does God care for me So Krishna made us to love us Why do we exist We exist because God wants to love us and how can he love us when we can love him Love can be one way but a loving relationship has to be two way that love can be one way but if love is needed it can’t be one way it should be two way So God loves us but God wants that wants us to love him He longs for us to love him and we are telling him that the great devotee Prahlad God says Prahlad you have come to this material world to give an example to teach us how he sends his great devotees So Prahlad has come to this material world and if we compare the problems that Prahlad faced the problems that Prahlad faced we might have faced someone is trying to kill us in our house someone is trying to kill us who is our saviour who is our father he is trying to kill us it doesn’t happen but in that situation if someone is doing bhakti in that situation what is difficult for us to do bhakti remembering this if we are doing bhakti then what happens we can do bhakti so what can we learn from Prahlad we can learn mind will always find reasons to not practise bhakti I have this problem I don’t have money I don’t have family my health is not good that’s why I don’t do bhakti but these are not reasons these are excuses so the intelligence we can use our intellect intelligence can be used to find reasons to practise bhakti to find reasons and ways to practise bhakti this situation is such that I can’t do bhakti but what I can’t do how can I do I can still do bhakti due to covid lockdown is going on but since last 1-1.5 years we are doing bhakti we are doing on zoom someone can say I can’t do this yes you can go to temple and do darshan but it’s not like nothing can be done this situation is opposite but we can still do bhakti so our mind will always see this problem that problem but our intellect the mind will look for things to complain about the intelligence should look for things to be grateful for that what is wrong in our life our mind will always see this is bad but what is good if we have to see that we have to use our intellect and how will our intellect get inspiration by seeing the example of Prahlad when we see the example of great bhaktas we get inspiration from them that how we can also move forward in bhakti and then what we are doing here bhagwan is praising his bhaktas kurutvam pritya krityani pitu putasya sarvasah mad anga sparshanen anga lokan yasyati suprajah so what is coming now now prahlad is also understanding that if god is praising me like this then god is expecting something from me god is thinking that he is making prahlad the king of demons so that all the demons follow the right path now prahlad is worried so he says that by living with these demons by living with these demons i will also get influenced by asatsang he says no kurutvam pritya krityani pitu putasya sarvasah now you do your father’s and other demons last karma pitu putasya sarvasah do it properly don’t think that if they are demons then they should not do it and while doing you will not be polluted mad anga sparshan sparsha anena i have touched you you must have seen that picture god narasimhadev sorry i didn’t show this shloka that god narasimhadev has put his hand on prahlad’s head mad anga sparshan sparsha lokan yasati suprajah and like this if you rule then everyone will prosper you will be able to prosper all the people like this pitriyam cha sthana sthanam atishtha yathoktam brahmavadhibhi mayyavesya manas tatha kuru karma mani mat paraha pitriyam cha sthanama atishtha at the place where your father was sitting atishtha you sit there yathoktam brahmavadhibhi and like brahmavadi here brahmavadi means not like mayavadi here shastra is called brahm according to shastra you should live like that and what is the meaning mad aveshya manas tatha tatha means love mad aveshya manas and kuru karma mani mat paraha and whatever is the karma do it for me make me the aim of your life and accept the responsibility so here in a way what is god doing he is telling prahlada that whatever you are doing till now you have to do that you were doing my remembrance but now you sit on the throne and do my service so here the ultimate aim we all don’t have the throne but we all have some status in the material world so god is not telling you to give up your status so engage devotion engage devotion means that in the material world stay keep your position change your disposition keep your situation as it is but change your mood what is mood what is mood what is service whatever situation comes in our life how can i serve krishna in this situation whatever situation comes in our life how can i serve god in this situation if he will keep the service then whatever situation comes in our life god will guide us god God told Prahlad that you have gone through such a difficult situation your life was in danger but you kept running now you are not in danger, now you have prosperity but you put your mind in me and you keep serving me so if we ask this question every morning today I have a chance to serve God in this life how can I serve God today this attitude will become the light of our life it will become the light of our life no matter how difficult situation comes in our life no matter how much darkness comes in our life this will always be the light in our life sometimes this light will be very big it will show us how we are going to do bhakti sometimes this light will be like a small torch because there will be so many problems in our life what I have to do, how I have to move forward but if we keep the attitude of service what can I do in this situation I can do one thing, I can do one thing so sometimes flood light, sometimes flash light what is flood light flood light is like day and night matches it is a big light and it gives light for a long time so with this attitude of service I have to serve and move forward and sometimes it will be a small flash light it will be one or two steps ahead but it will be one step ahead so what will happen, it will be one more step ahead how can I serve God in this situation don’t come near me, don’t come near me if we keep this attitude no matter how difficult situation we face in our life God will definitely take us forward from that situation so this shastra will tell us it is not just a story that Prahlad faced so many problems and God took him away and now he is giving darshan to God actually if we see in our life so many problems have come in our life and we have crossed them so Krishna has not brought us so far to abandon us now we have crossed many problems in our life so just as Krishna carried us God is not going to abandon us carried us through our past problems He will carry us through our present and future problems so sometimes I feel I have so many problems in my life how will I face them and yes there can be many problems but if we see in our past so many problems have come in our life so many problems have come God gave us wisdom and we were able to face them actually we have not done it ourselves we have tried it ourselves but God has also helped us so God has brought us here we have been travelling in this material world for many births God has brought us here even after bringing us here we are still with God’s devotees we are still doing bhakti so in a way our existence in this material world is like a marathon you know marathon is a long run so now if we are with these devotees what does devotee association mean it is the final lap of the marathon this is the final lap of our material world this is the last run and God has brought us till this last run so God is not going to leave us after bringing us here if we have faith then what will happen God will definitely take us till the end the assurance he has given to Prahlad is actually an assurance to us that don’t worry whatever work you are doing do it in my service and surely you will be successful so in summary today I have discussed on these 6 shlokas I have discussed on 4 shlokas and in the last 2 shlokas I was telling Prahlad how the heart of God is being written and in these 6 shlokas the first shloka and the last 2 shlokas are directly speaking to Prahlad and in the middle 3 shlokas are telling us through Prahlad the first shloka says Prahlad you don’t take care of your father what about your father 21 videos will be uploaded that you are such a great devotee and in the middle 3 shlokas Prahlad says God should praise his devotee a devotee doesn’t have any jealousy towards anyone a devotee always wants everyone’s well being a devotee is always compassionate and if we respect our devotees if we try to live our life then we all will be successful and then God tells Prahlad that if you do bhakti like this remembering me doing bhakti like this fulfilling your duties sitting on the throne you will be successful because you are purified from my touch and you will make the world prosperous and you will also be prosperous so we God the way God is paying his debt to Prahlad we see 3 things that how much God loves his devotee and God is showing us the glory of his devotee and God is telling us that we can also become a devotee like this and God wants to love us like this and that’s why showing us the glory of his devotee he is telling us the example of his devotee that how we should do bhakti Thank you very much Shri Narasimhadev Bhagwan Ki Jai Shri Prahlad Maharaj Ki Jai Shri Prabhupada Ki Jai so there is time for question and answer because it is already quarter to Yes, I am fine Thank you Thank you Guruji You have beautifully told us about Narasimha Bhagwan’s manifestation day and how we should do bhakti of Prahlad Maharaj walking on his feet we should do bhakti of Bhagwan so if you have any question you can raise your hand I have some questions in chat box the first question is you told us blessing before seeking but sometimes it happens that there is seeking from our side but there is no fulfilling yes, true because of covid because of covid we keep praying we do many prayers but still we don’t get what we want so is Bhagwan not listening to our prayers yes when we see such examples that before seeking Bhagwan gives assurance and we say I am praying so much but I am not getting anything why is it so there are two important things that Krishna’s love is both universal and personal Bhagwan loves everyone it is universal Bhagwan loves everyone Bhagwan’s grace is on everyone but personal means Bhagwan has a personal relationship with everyone and that personal relationship means that in personal situation different different types of facilities or different types of blessings Bhagwan gives so in shastras there is an example how Arjun in 14th day when he was going to kill he was not able to do it so Bhagwan himself helped him by covering the sun but in that same Mahabharata there is another story that Abhimanyu was trapped and Abhimanyu was killed so ultimately one aspect of accepting God’s mastery is to accept God’s mystery mastery means that Bhagwan is my lord Bhagwan is my lord so it means how Bhagwan works is a mystery it is a mystery we can never predict it that if I will pray I will get the result no prayer goes waste but how Bhagwan will fulfil our prayers that is not in our control and that is why we have to understand that our foundation is there is always a mystery in God’s actions it is not like Bhagwan is not a machine I did this prayer so now Bhagwan will fulfil it Bhagwan is our supreme worry and that is why sometimes we feel that this situation this problem will be solved it will be good for me and yes it may be good but it may not be good that is why we don’t know so when we have faith in Bhagwan we have faith in two things one is his strength and his wisdom that Bhagwan has the strength that he can solve any problem in our life but if he is not solving then he has a purpose he has a reason and what we have to do if the problem is not getting solved then please give me the strength to serve you which is my duty sometimes sometimes removing the problem is the way and sometimes the problem is the way how is this possible? suppose we are driving a truck and a tree has fallen and we are not able to move forward so if someone comes and removes the tree then we can move forward so removing the problem is the way this is the way but suppose a small baby bird a baby a baby a small baby that what is the shell that is trapped inside the egg and now it has to come out so now that bird has to come out by itself if in its nature if any bird is trapped then its parents they don’t break it if a person comes and breaks it then maybe the bird will come out it will get freedom but it won’t have the facility it will be liberated from this egg but the life that for that its wings won’t have the strength its legs won’t have the strength so where does the strength come from? by fighting by fighting when it breaks the egg so sometimes our prayer is suppose a tree has fallen we pray to god and remove it it comes out but sometimes our problem is that we have to break that egg we have to what is the meaning of egg? we all have some conception of life what is life? what do I have to do in life? we all have a conception of life so we have to get out of that and get a bigger conception of life so god’s plan for our life is far grander than our plan for our life god’s plan for our life is bigger than our plan than our plan so our plan is we have to be happy in the egg we have to get out of the egg both can happen the calf is very small so the egg gives protection the calf is big so the egg constricts it so we have to break it but to break it if it has to try by itself so sometimes we have a problem that we need to grow that’s why the egg is not breaking the problem is the way the problem is the way to fight the problem we have to grow and when we grow the problem will be solved ok one more question I am not a pure devotee like Prahlad if there is something wrong in our life we relate it to our past karma that I did something wrong and I have to face it so how should we take shelter of Narasimha will he interfere in our free will in our life see this we are not a pure devotee so what is happening in our life is happening due to our past karma will God interfere so we have to understand in this prayer Prahlad says you are a pure devotee but you are also a Krupan Vatsal you are going to help the materialistic people you are a Krupan Vatsal so it means that God’s love is for everyone शुरुदम् सर्वभूतानां He blesses everyone so it is not like a person who is under the rules of karma God doesn’t care for him so God cares for everyone God is in everyone’s heart as God so whatever is happening in our life is according to the rules of karma but God is above the rules of karma and whatever is happening is happening God’s will and that’s why we are never outside the circle of God’s love so God’s love is not like a circle and everyone is outside the pure devotee so in a way everyone is living in God’s love and as we start loving God so we start coming inside the circle of God’s love so even if what is happening to us is because of our past karma it is still under the plan of Krishna मया अध्यक्षेन प्रकृति God says that whatever is happening is happening under my control so even if the I’ll conclude this even if the bad things happening to us are due to our karma Krishna can bring good even out of those bad things so that’s why God never rejects us God never takes us away due to our karma our life is in danger we are always in God’s embrace in God’s love we are always there ok one last question Devotion doesn’t cancel the nature of the material world.
Only because I am a devotee and you are a devotee, the nature of the material world is not going to change. And what is the nature of the material world? In the material world, there will be art, in the material world, there will be selfishness, in the material world, there will be misunderstanding. So if we are devoting ourselves to someone on the material level, then we should do it in a well-planned manner.
And the ideal example for this is the Pandavas. The five Pandavas were devotees and they were ready to give their lives for each other. But when the marriage of the five Pandavas took place with Draupadi, when they came back to their kingdom, first of all Narad Muni came to meet them.
And when Narad Muni came to meet them, what did he do? He told the story that there were two Asuras, Sunda and Rupasunda. And they were very good friends. And they were attacked in such a way that no one could kill them.
Only one person could kill them. And that was another person. Sunda could kill Rupasunda and Rupasunda could kill Sunda.
So then they started creating havoc in the whole world. So then what happened later? Brahmaji made an Asura like this, Tilottama. And both of them were fascinated by him.
And they fought with each other and killed each other. And Narad Muni told the Pandavas that this can happen to you too. That’s why you should make a plan.
How will you live with Draupadi? So they made a plan. Narad Muni is a sanyasi, he is a householder. So how is he going to live among them? Why is he interfering? He is not interfering but he is warning them.
And then the Pandavas talked and decided that if Draupadi is with one Pandava at a time, then the other Pandava will not come there. They will give them their space, their privacy. And they followed that very strictly.
And when Arjuna was with Yudhishthira and Draupadi, and a Brahmin was telling Arjuna that someone has stolen my Yajna equipment, so Arjuna had his weapon in the room where Yudhishthira and Draupadi were. So Arjuna went there and served him. And then he said that I have violated our agreement, so I will go to exile for a year.
That was his condition for a year. So Arjuna said that you have decided to disturb me. And actually I am an elder brother, an elder brother is like a son.
You can come, there is no problem. But Arjuna said no, I will go. So Arjuna went to exile for a year.
What I mean to say here is that if we are doing something professionally, then professional boundaries, professional agreements, professional code should be followed. In every relationship, faith is necessary. We need to trust each other.
But there is a difference between being trusting and being naive. Without faith, nothing happens. But faith does not mean that there should not be any precaution.
No, all Pandavas had faith in each other. But they knew that the material world is such that it can be very dangerous. There can be fire anytime.
So that is why we need to be careful while being aware of it. Just because we are practising devotees doesn’t mean material nature will change its nature. So the more we are focused on Krishna, the more we transcend the rules of material nature.
But the more we come in contact with the world, the more we need to respect the influence of material nature. The closer we are to Krishna, For example, in Vrindavan, a monk is making a stone statue and worshipping it as a god. There is no conflict there.
But a huge temple is being built and there is a lot of wealth in it. So we need policies for the management of the temple. The closer we are to the world, the more we need to follow the rules.
So trust is required. Sometimes we think that because we are devotees, we don’t need to be careful. It’s not that we don’t trust other devotees.
But if we say that there should be no professional dealings then it is not necessary that there should be no professional dealings. It is possible that the devotees can work well. But if we are doing professional dealings, then do professional dealings professionally, not devotionally.
Do devotional dealings devotionally. Do professional dealings professionally. The more we work with the material world, the more we are influenced.
So we need to be careful. Does it answer the question? Yes. Thank you very much for the thoughtful questions.
I think there are some comments also. Thank you. Happy to be of service.
