When we set goals, is it in bhakti or is it in our own, for our self purposes? No.
The practicalities of action remain the same whatever be the purpose of the action. So my purpose may be spiritual, my purpose may be material. But the practicalities of how I will act, to a large extent they remain similar.
So if we have had in our material life, if we have had an ethos of discipline, committed work, then even in our spiritual life whenever we take up any services, we take up some responsibilities, there also we will bring in the discipline ethos, we will also be committed, we will honor our word and do things. So in one sense, there are these two approaches to the material-spiritual division. One is analysis and the other is synthesis.
So analysis means that in terms of investing our time, we should differentiate. This is my material life, this is my spiritual life. I should have some time for my spiritual life.
So some time to come for some satsang, some time to do japa, some time to study shastra. So we have to, for that purpose we separate so that we have some time for spiritual life. But once we have done that separation and given, invested adequate time in our spiritual life, then it is not that throughout the day we have to constantly keep differentiating.
This is material, this is spiritual. We focus on trying to cultivate a mood of service. Even if I am doing my professional work, I can do it in a mood of service to Krishna.
In 18.48 Krishna says that, by your work, worship me. So we can say that Krishna has given us certain talents. Krishna has now, by His arrangement, we are in a particular situation.
So even through my work, I am serving Him only. So we can set goals both in our professional or material life and we can set goals in our spiritual life. And what the ethos of working, the ethos of living that we have created, we have built for ourselves, that will shape both in a similar way.
Does that address your question? Thank you. Any other questions?
