Hare Krishna Hare Krishna So today, tomorrow and day after three days, I will be discussing the Leela of Mohini Murthi Today, this Leela is in two parts in Bhagwatam In 8th Skandh, in 8th chapter it comes first and in 12th chapter it comes second In 8th Skandh, how Mohini Murthi attracts the Asuras and in 12th Skandh how she gets attracted to Lord Shiva we will discuss we will discuss in both parts so in 12th chapter the first shloka in this, the essence is told that this happened and after hearing this, Lord Shiva went there so what is there in 9th and 10th chapter that the war between Gods and Asuras is described and how when Gods started losing, Asuras started dominating them, then God himself came and God helped the Gods that is described so, there are different incarnations of God and in Bhagwatam’s first Skandh, it is told that when God takes incarnation, then it is like the waves of the sea it is infinite, and when God takes incarnation, then there are many reasons for that. Kunti Maharani in her prayers, tells some reasons some people say like this some people say like this some people say that Yudhishthira Maharaj to increase his glory he appeared some people say that in reality he appeared to kill Kamsa so different people say like this and in the end, how God appears for us, that we get a chance to listen to some Leela through which we can be purified In this way, there are different reasons for the appearance of God.
When God appears in the form of a Mohini Murti, we will see two reasons for that. One is when God appears, one is Paritranaya Sadhuna, Vinacha Yuddhasmritam, Dharma Samsthap Narthaya, Sambhavami Yuge Yuge. That is their purpose.
That is their purpose. To establish Dharma. And to put aside those who are against Dharma.
And to establish those who are in accordance with Dharma. So this is the purpose of almost every incarnation of God. But in that, the occasion is different.
And there is a practical reason. And there is a divine reason for spirituality. So first of all, we will see this practical reason.
Which is based on the occasion. When there is a war between God and demons. Our scriptures say that this is the material world.
In this, there is always a struggle going on. If we see in nature, if people live in cities, when they come to nature, there is a lot of peace and tranquilly. That is true.
But when we live in nature, then there is a lot of cruelty in nature. When a lion is running after a deer, he will bite the deer and eat it. So in the jungle, as it is called in English as the law of the jungle, the law of the jungle means the most powerful, the fittest, he defeats others.
So it is not that there is only peace and tranquilly in nature. That is there. But there is also cruelty in nature.
We cannot call it cruelty. It is the law of nature. So if someone jumps from the 10th floor, and he gets up, then we do not call it that the law of gravity is cruel.
No, that is his foolishness. Because he got down like this, he jumped. So we call it cruelty, when in reality a person is doing it on purpose.
When he does it to hurt others, then we call it cruelty. But animals naturally want to eat something. According to the law of nature, जीवो जीवस जीवनम् It is like this, that one animal is food for another animal.
So now, when this is the law of nature, then yes, in nature, there is a lot of pain, there is a lot of fear. There is a lot of fear. Prabhupada ji says, आहार निद्रा भै मैथुनम्च Out of these, we eat in between, we sleep in between, we urinate in between, but the fear is almost always there.
Sometimes the fear is enough, when we feel it, sometimes the fear is in the background, in the background, but it is there. So the purpose of saying this is that when there is a struggle between the gods and demons, there is a struggle everywhere. There is a struggle between people, between communities, between religions, between nations, Now people say, he is of this religion, I am of this religion, that’s why there is a fight.
He is from this nation, I am from this nation, that’s why there is a fight. Or, he is of this region, I am of this region, that is why there is a fight. This is of this caste, I am of this caste.
It can happen in time. He is a disciple of this Guru, I am a disciple of this Guru. That is why there is a fight.
In reality, this is not the reason. If tomorrow morning, in a miraculous way, all of us will fly away, and all the differences in all of us will go away. It will be a miracle.
We all belong to the same nation, we all belong to the same religion, we all belong to the same caste, we all belong to the same religion, all of our differences will go away. So by tomorrow afternoon, we will remove the differences and start fighting. What is it? The difference is not the reason for the fight.
That difference is a trigger. It is a trigger. But the fight happens because people are in Rajogun and Tamogun.
As long as there is Rajas and Tamas in the world, for some reason or the other, there will be a fight. That is why, why is there a fight between Devata and Asura? Because, in a way, Devata and Asura are both in Rajogun. In reality, Devata is religious, and there is a difference.
We will see the difference in detail later. But, there is a war between Devata and Asura. Both want to get material things.
But Devata, God has given him material things, so that he can establish religion and the universe can rule over it. And God has given some space to the Asuras as well. But they want to get more than that.
So, mostly, there are fights. The Asuras, they get more area than what is given to them. That is why there are fights.
So, many times there is a fight between two people, so both are at fault. But it is not that every time, 50% of both are at fault. So, in the name of one person, 99% can be at fault, and in the name of another, 1% can be at fault.
So, when there is a fight between Devata and Asura, there is a war. So, sometimes, the Asuras become more powerful than the Devatas. So, when such a situation arises, then, the Devatas pray to God.
And God helps, but in different ways. So, here, God says, that you, now your time is not suitable, so, make a pact. You, do not fight now.
Now, when they make a pact, then, what is the feeling? That, we have to avoid the war. And many times, the person who keeps the pact ahead, that person is considered weak. That you are making a pact, means, you are afraid of fighting.
It can be like this, it can not be like this. For that, it takes humility, to make a pact. And, along with that, the other party can also exploit it.
So, many times, when there is a pact, so, in the pact, the terms, the conditions, sometimes, the conditions are such, that, the next war becomes necessary. One person thinks, that I am being exploited so much, that, I did not get anything in this. So, when there is a pact here, then, God says, you will accept what the demons say.
So, when they make a pact, then, what is the benefit of the demons? They say, that, what do you really want? Now, when there is a difference between some people, there is a difference between two people, then, what happens is, we have to first see what is equal between the two of us. If we start with that, then, whatever is the difference, that, we can see later. If there is a 99% difference between two people, but, if there is 1% equality, then, we should start with that equality.
When we start with that equality, then, we can see that 99% difference. Now, what did the deities do? They said, that, we know, what you want. You want immortality.
Now, all the deities, or demons, or demons also want to become immortal. So, to become immortal, we need immortality. So, they say, that you want immortality.
We have some immortality. And, the immortality we have, if you defeat us and get it, the better immortality we have, is in another place. And, to get that, we should work together.
Where is that immortality? Where is it? In the ocean. Yes, in the ocean, in the deep sea. We will have to work together.
So, now, what happens is, their objective, is not just to get the kingdom. After getting the kingdom, they want to get immortality. And, when the deities show them, that there is another way then, they think, yes, this is good.
So, they make a deal, and then, both of them start doing immortality. So, here, the deal they have to make, we have to see, what is the objective of both of them. Now, what happens is, sometimes, they think that this is their objective, that I have to serve this, and they have to serve that.
Ok, so, there will be a fight. But, ok, why do you want to serve this? And, if I serve this, then, I will get the kingdom this year. Ok, but, if you want this, then, you can get this kingdom anyway.
So, what happens is, when we, instead of looking at someone’s work, try to understand their objective, then, then, the, the, we can be more aggressive in finding the solution. When actions are conflicting, we need to go to the intentions that are conquering, that are agreeable. So, when we do this, then, the, the work of the two, after going beyond that, the objective, what is the similarity in that, we can see.
How can we fulfil the objective? So, after that, when, when, now, I will not go into detail, but, they start the Amrit Manthan. And, after a lot of effort, after a lot of struggle, after a lot of, after a lot of trouble, in the end, the Amrit is obtained. Now, what happens is, that, whenever a person does a Sandhi, then, in Sandhi, one thing happens, that trust.
Because, if two people are going to do something together, then, one has to have trust in them. So, what is the objective of the Asuras? Now, the objective of the Asuras is to obtain the Amrit. But, what happens in this is, that, the people of the Asuras, they, because, mostly, they are very selfish, they are self-centred.
So, what happens is, they, not only, fight with the Gods, but, the Asuras also fight with each other. So, that is why, when there is a Sandhi, then, the plan is, Gali Maharaj and Indra talk, then, it is decided that, the Amrit that will come, we will get it together. But, what happens is, that, when a person, is very self-centred, he is self-centred, he is self-centred, then, what happens is, he, who is not able to see equality, then, what happens is, some Asuras, they plan in such a way, that, as soon as they get the Amrit, then, that Amrit, we will snatch it.
So, what happens is, when this happens, then, now, all the Asuras, may not have the intention, to cheat like this, because, there are Asuras also, that, not all of them, are of the same level of Asuras. In different people also, there are different Asuras, of different levels of Asuras. So, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, But in a practical way, we can’t say that I have come to my essence.
Our life is in essence, how we talk, how we interact, we have to understand this. Prabhupada ji was asked in an interview that how can your disciples recognise me? Prabhupada ji said, they are perfect gentlemen and ladies. They behave well.
Prabhupada ji didn’t say that my disciples follow four rules, they do 16 japa, they get up early in the morning, they worship idols. All this is true. But here, what does the world care? How much you do japa or not, how does it matter to me? Whom you worship, how does it matter to me? What is the world going to see? The world is going to see how we behave with people, how we talk, how we behave, how we live in conversations.
So that is why Prabhupada ji is saying that we have to behave well. To behave well means to do our bhakti well, we have to behave well in other places as well. So here, I am saying all this with the intention, I am mentioning this so that the demons, there are levels of demons as well.
So some demons, who had formed a union, they were going to walk well. They were going to walk well. So they said, we all will walk well.
But some demons said, no, we only want to walk well. And they fought with the demons. Now the deities were left aside.
What to do? And they started remembering God. They remembered God. And then God came there in the form of a reflection.
And what was that form? Mohini murti. Now here, what is it? This is a materialistic person. So when a materialistic person, when his mind becomes attached to something, then it becomes very difficult to leave it.
If a person is eating very delicious food, you tell him, don’t eat this now. Why not? I am going to eat. So if you give him more delicious food than that, then he will be fine at home.
If a person is watching sports, you tell him, don’t watch now. No, no, I want to watch. And then you tell him, a new movie has been released.
Watch the movie. Leave sports, watch the movie. So we give the example that sometimes there is a higher taste.
If you get the higher taste, then the lower taste will go away. So this lower and higher taste, it is not only spiritual high taste and materialistic taste. What happens is that something can be high in materialistic tastes, something can be low.
Some people are like this. Like I told you, they like sports, but if a movie has started, then leave sports and watch the movie. So what happens is that the demons have become so attracted to that nectar, to its taste, to its effect, they have become so attracted, so attracted that it is impossible to leave it.
So they have a higher taste in their eyes. What is it? That God is caught in an attractive form. So now when he has worked so hard, tried so hard, struggled so hard, now he has got the nectar, but when God comes in such an attractive form, then she does not know that she is God, but she is only an attractive woman.
What happens after seeing that? What happens after seeing that? sarva-dharmān parityajya māyām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja They come directly to him. And what happens is that when Mohini Murthy starts walking in front of everyone, how does she start walking? How does it happen? What happens is that all these demons try to show that we are all gentlemen, we are all good people, we stop fighting and keep the nectar aside. One demon keeps holding the nectar.
And then, many times, when everyone starts looking at Mohini, Mohini starts walking, and even the deities get attracted to Mohini. So, attraction is natural. But what happens after attraction? A person, it is not like that a religious person and an unreligious person, if there is a beautiful person, he will get attracted.
A religious person, by working on attraction, will not violate the limits of religion. An unreligious person, is so attractive, that he forgets everything. So, these demons, what do they do? When they get attracted, they want to get Mohini.
So, how do they get her? So, when everyone is fighting, and Mohini is looking at them, she is laughing, so, she is smiling. So, all these demons think that there is a fight going on between us, how can we resolve it? So, they give the pot of nectar to Mohini. How can anyone do this? How can anyone do this, that for whom you fought so much, give it to someone? In a way, we all are affected in a different way.
Some people are like this, they say, sweet talkers. Sweet talker means, they talk so sweetly, that that person, whoever, that person will ask anything from another person, and that person will give it to that person. They say, the advertisers, they are so expert, that they will praise hell so much, that that person will be excited to go to hell.
So, like this, different people have different talents. Some people have the talent to speak in such a way, that the person, by forgetting his intellect, whatever he says, he is ready to do it. So, some people have this form.
So, we all look at each other, so, we all have some impression of each other. So, if a person becomes very attractive, then our mind, gets so fascinated by that attraction, that we feel, this person is so attractive, it means, everything should be good for this person. So, this person will also be trustworthy.
Now, is it possible? No, it is not possible. That is a different thing. But, and this is, this is ordinary, mental science.
But here, God himself has appeared. So, when God appears, then, that person, when he takes any attractive form, then, with a very divine form, that person becomes attractive. So, with this attractive form, when, that person, that person, accepts that person, then, now, what happens is, the purpose of all the demons is, that we, that is, we have to impress Mohini.
Now, that person, we, we have to impress her. So, I have to impress her. So, I have to understand her well.
So, Mohini, what does she do? She, she, looks at the demons with her eyes, looks at them with her mouth, and then, she says, you both sit in a queue. The deities sit in one place, and the demons sit in another place. And, when they sit like this, then, she looks at them with her eyes, laughs at them, and then, then, she starts giving the nectar to the deities.
And, what is Vasudha doing? Vasudha is so fascinated that, with her eyes, she is looking at them with her eyes, so, it seems to her that this is the nectar. So, she forgets that nectar. So, one is, the characteristic of intelligence is, intelligence means to never lose perspective of things.
And, foolishness means to lose perspective of things. What does it mean? That, to know which thing is so important, and how much I have to pay attention to it, this understanding is intelligence. And, the absence of intelligence means, to forget how important this understanding is.
So, suppose someone is driving, and, while driving, some person sits next to him, and says, hey, look, a child must be sitting, look at this. Now, the mother or father is driving, they are looking here, there. So, they will look for a few moments.
The child will keep But, the mother or father who is driving, will not look here, there. They know, while driving, it is important So, they can see what is happening around them. But, what is important for them is, to look ahead.
And, they can look But, a person, forgets to look ahead, and starts looking at the other side. So, what happens then? That problem will arise. Prabhupada ji says, in Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 10, Intelligence means to see things in their proper perspective.
To look at them in the right amount. So, these demons get so engrossed, that they forget that, what is important for us. So, they keep looking at Mohini, and when they keep looking at her, then, all the nectar Mohini gives to the deities.
And, we know, Rahu, Ketu, these two demons, they try to get them. And, then, Mohini immediately appears and she deprives them of the nectar. And, when she deprives them, then, later, the nectar gets over, all the deities get destroyed, and then, the demons get enraged.
And, even then, the demons are not enraged. As long as they are looking at Mohini, they are engrossed in her. And, then, in front of everyone, Mohini walks away, and then, she becomes invisible.
And, when she becomes then, the demons say, what happened? All the nectar got over. And, then, they get enraged and start fighting, start attacking. So, here, later, when there is a war, then the deities start defeating the demons, then the demons start defeating the deities, then the gods get caught again.
Then, the gods get caught and kill the demons. And, then, the deities win. But, here, so, this is what I told the audience how Mohini appears there.
But, God, in a way, tells us that He appears in every form. He appears in the form So, the attraction of a woman is so much that in whichever form God appears, in that, He His divine glory. So, He appears in the form So, He appears in such an attractive form that all the demons get completely captivated.
And, in the next part, we see how Lord Shiva also gets captivated by Him. But, there is a very different So, when the demons get captivated, so, when God did this, so, He captivated the demons. So, could God not defeat the demons by directly fighting against the Gods? He could definitely defeat them.
But, God shows many things here. One thing is that God can appear in every form. In every form, God has the ability Second, God shows how we get attracted to something and we captivated by it.
And, we the thing for which we have worked so hard because of And, by doing such Leelas, as Kunti Bhai says, that we can listen to the Leelas of God and we can divine happiness and we God. So, God also does Leelas so that we can listen to them. Along with all these, God shows that God did some things to us and we to God.
So, we Leelas of God and we can divine happiness and we can listen to the divine happiness and we Leelas happiness and we can happiness God and What do you do? You do yagya. So that is the aim of the demons and their work. So now the demons are going to keep the aim of their Indra Dukti.
They are not going to change it. But come on the path of dharma. And try to attain it in a religious way.
So every person will make his own aim, but how can he take the path? But what is the kanak riti? Whatever aim you want to achieve, you should do it. And for that you should accept two paths. So what happens? The person who is shatho sharthyam.
Shatho sharthyam means that if a person is weak, then sometimes weakness is necessary with him. Not always. Not always.
We should always do the right thing. But doing the right thing does not mean that if the other person is cheating, then we should be trapped by that cheating. To be principled does not mean to be foolish.
So we have to live according to our values. But it does not mean that we have to do foolishness. So what does shatho sharthyam mean? If the other person is cheating, then maybe we have to do whatever is necessary with him.
It is not that we will always do the right thing. So what happened here? The demons were the first to cheat. They said that we will divide.
Yes, we will divide the amrit we get. But they did not divide. They tried to get it themselves.
So whatever they tried to do with the deities, God did it with them. In Bhagavad Gita, God says that yutam chhalayatam asmi If someone wants to cheat, then I can do the biggest cheating with them. So here, the ethics, such ethics, this is right, this is wrong, this is true.
But along with that, we have to see according to the situation. In the situation, it is better to tell the truth. It is better to tell the truth.
It is wrong to tell a lie. But if telling the truth has a bad effect on someone, if a terrorist is following someone, and our friend comes to our house and hides, and the terrorist asks, is he in our house? He says, I am telling the truth. So it is better to tell the truth.
But in that situation, telling the truth can have a bad effect. So the right and wrong, this box is right, this box is wrong, it is not like that. Where is that box? In which situation are we working? We have to see that too.
And when we work after seeing that, it is called in English as categorical ethics and contextual ethics. Categorical ethics means this category is right, and this category is wrong. Telling the truth is right, telling a lie is wrong.
This is right in a way, but it is not that much. Along with that, we also have to see the situation. So according to the situation, when demons are working with demons, they do cunning, then Lord Mohini Murthy shows that if you want to do cunning, then I can do the biggest cunning.
So in this way, how we have to live in this material world in a practical way, we also learn that. So in conclusion, we discussed today’s topic about Lord Mohini Murthy. And here I saw, first of all, that the war that happens, is not only in Devataswara, but it happens everywhere.
There is a war in nature. And when there is a fight in human beings, there can be some reason for that. But that is external reason.
As long as there is a tendency in Rajat and Mughal, till then even if the external reason comes out, then there will be a struggle for the external reason. And when Devata and Asura make a deal, then how do they make a deal? That what is the purpose of those Devata and Asura? Not only to defeat the Devata, but also to get heaven. Through that, they have to get immortality.
So when there is a fight between two people, then what is the common purpose in that, if they see, what is the purpose instead of seeing, then through that, we can move towards the agreement. And later, at the end of the struggle, when the Asura get that immortality, then what happens? They start fighting with each other. So even the Asuras, we do not consider all Asuras to be one.
There are levels in Asuras too. Some Asuras are very Asuri, some are less Asuri. So I went into that in detail, how it happens, that even the atheists can be moral, but their morality has no final basis.
So our qualities, the three qualities of nature, through that, we have a practical value. How we are driving the car, and through our spiritual knowledge, we get our final purpose. We get to know where we want to go.
So even if we know where we want to go, that does not mean that we are driving the car well. We should try to drive the car well. We have to learn that.
So we have to try to live in Satva guna. Prabhupada ji said that our disciples are gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen. So the Asuras, because of their Asuri qualities, they started fighting with each other.
When Mohini came, what happened? Amrut was one kind of immortality, and Mohini was another kind of immortality. God came to them in this form because this was more attractive for them. So he left them.
So when we get very attracted to something, then the meaning of intellect is that we give so much importance to one thing that we give importance to everything else. In this way, we become unintelligent. We do not remain intelligent.
And when God attracted the Asuras in this way, he teaches them that if a person is smart, then sometimes it is necessary to be smart with him too. We do not have to become smart, but we have to do what is necessary for the fulfilment of our goal. Thank you very much.
Does anyone have any questions? Okay. If someone’s goal is good, but his behaviour is not equal, we feel sad, his behaviour is troublesome, then we have to look at the outside world that sometimes we can stay at a distance, that different relationships work best at different distances. What is it? That there are different relationships, they work well at different distances.
So, for each relationship, we have to determine the right distance. So, I went to a temple, there was a very senior, very well-known, learned devotee. So, I was talking to others about him.
So, one devotee told me, he is a wonderful devotee to admire from a distance. He is a very good devotee to admire from a distance. Because if you go close to him, if you want to serve him, then he becomes a little demanding.
So, sometimes he does not like it. So, some devotees like him. So, that devotee goes and serves him, the other devotee goes and admires him from a distance.
You can respect him. So, he is not good, we can say like this, but every person has his own nature. So, we have to see that we do not have to commit a crime against any devotee.
What does crime mean? We do not have to say bad things about them. We do not have to show their shortcomings. We do not have to pull them down.
But this is just human nature. This is human nature that some people can work with some people, some people cannot work with some people. So, if you cannot work, then you can keep them at a distance.
And then we can serve ourselves, and they can serve them. But if it is necessary for us to work with a devotee, then we can do two things. First of all, the devotee who appreciates him, who appreciates him, who sees something good about him, then by associating with him, we can try to understand what is good about him.
How can he do this to me? So, what happens is, his evil eye will be affected in that way. So, the one who can see the other aspect about him, he can show it to us first. What will happen with that? We will put him in such a box on the basis of one or two of our donations, that this person is like this.
Okay, he has behaved like this with me, but he is also a very good person. So, we can see that. In this way, we can get a positive feeling.
And the second thing is, sometimes we have to become thick-skinned to be with the devotees. Thick-skinned means, we have to become a little thick-skinned. We have to become thick-skinned.
What is this? Sometimes, we have to be able to tolerate some criticism, some bad words. What happens is, according to our past karma, we all are going to have some sorrows and some happiness. So, these sorrows can be spiritual, can be spiritual, can be spiritual, can be spiritual.
So, if we are living mostly with the devotees, then how will our quota of spiritual sorrows be fulfilled? It will be fulfilled by the devotees. So, if we are going to have some spiritual sorrows, if we live with the devotees, then it will be fulfilled by the devotees. So, in this way, we have to increase our ability to tolerate it.
So, to what extent can we do it or not? It can be the ability of each person. So, we have to see that. If someone says anything to me, I will serve myself.
If someone says like this, how can I serve? If this is my ability, then I can do this much from here. I can do that much from here. It is said that, in devotion, we need a tender heart.
We need a soft heart. But we need to cover that tender heart with a thick skin. We need a soft heart, but we need a thick skin.
If there is only a soft heart, then what will happen? That heart will be cut off again and again. But if there is only a thick skin, and there is no soft heart, then what will happen? Yes, we will work, we will keep working, but our relationships will get spoiled. We will not grow in devotion.
So, we need both. A soft heart and a little thick skin. Okay.
Okay. Is there any other question? Yes. Okay.
Okay. This can be a nature. So, in this nature, we need to see what we are referring to.
So, what is this? That, in some things, in all of us, it is difficult to make such a change. So, now, we all have to stay together and serve each other. So, that is why, to some extent, we have to try to adjust that person, to some extent, we have to adjust the other person as well.
So, some things can be like this, but they cannot be changed. That person will not even try. Yesterday, I was talking to a person, he said that, you talk like this, so people can think like this.
So, I said directly, what people think about me, I don’t care about that. So, I said, no, but you may have other problems. Whatever problem comes, I will see that.
But I don’t care about what people think about me. Okay. Now, some people think like this, that I will do whatever I want to do.
So, now, okay, that person has become like this. So, the person, the devotees who can bear that kind of personality, they will serve that person. The other person will not be able to serve him.
So, how does it happen? This happens in management, in industries, this happens in management also. I gave a lecture in Intel, after that, Later, a person told me that we want to invite you to our mavericks club. What does maverick mean? Maverick means the people who are maverick.
In our language, we can call them avdhoot. Some people say that avdhoot bhakti is bhakti, but their attire, the way they talk, the way they live, is a bit strange. There are people in big companies.
Normally, when you work in a company, you have a target. You have a project, you have to complete it by this time. But some people are very talented.
And they have so much talent, so much talent, that if you put them in the rules, that you have to complete this work by this time, you have to complete this work by this time, then they will be completely caught up in it. So they are given the task of developing a new idea. Now, the maverick club is a bit of an elite club.
They won’t put anyone in. Most people, if you have no accountability, they won’t do any work. But this is how it is.
Now our company is developing, how can we do something new? So they don’t have a boss, they don’t have a deadline. You make a new idea. So now, why am I giving this example? These people may not do anything for a year.
But after a year, they will do such an innovation that the whole industry will change because of it. So, in a way, the company thinks that I didn’t get anything from this for a year. I am giving them money, giving them money, what are they doing? But those big companies say that this is our gamble, but it is a calculated gamble.
It is such that, yes, you won’t get anything, but you can get a lot. So I am giving this example that those people are like this, they are very talented, they have a lot of ability, but they can’t work in a team. They can’t work under any leader.
They can’t work under a boss. So that place is given to them. So, I was talking to one of our spiritual leaders, an ascetic, he was saying that to get empowered devotees is rare.
If a person is very powerful, if a person is very talented, if he has the ability to do a lot, similarly, if a devotee comes to a temple, someone does bhakti, similarly, devotees are very rare. But not only does it take empowerment to serve a devotee, the devotee who is empowered like this, to put him in service, the leader also needs empowerment. He was saying that the leader requires special empowerment to engage empowered devotees.
So if he is not there, the leader will say, do this, do that, he will feel that there is no place to breathe. He will feel suffocated. So, I am trying to say that if some devotees are doing their service well, and can’t work with others, because their nature is like that, then this leadership, their talent, should give them such service that they keep doing their service.
If their bhakti is not compatible with others, then it is fine. So, we should not encourage anyone in bhakti, we should not discourage anyone. So, if the behaviour of one devotee is such that the other devotee feels bad, gets hurt, gets angry, feels wrong, then we can’t deny what is happening to other devotees.
But if the behaviour of that devotee is not changed, then we should not encourage that devotee either. So, what should we do? We should divide them in such a way that they keep doing their service in their place, and the other devotees keep doing their service. So, this requires a skill that if a devotee has his own nature, then how can he serve according to that nature.
Did I answer your question? Okay. Okay, last question. You spoke about bhakti, which is practised at nirguna level, which is our ultimate goal.
But sometimes, because of the moods, we struggle, we are just uncomfortable. So, if we have to practise nirguna, then we have to come to the mode of goodness. Because we have got a body with which we are struggling, so how do we come to that? So, now we all have to come to the mode of goodness and do bhakti, but how can we come to the mode of goodness, when our body, mind can be in rajas, rajas, tamas.
No, even if we do not come to the complete mode of goodness, still, if we do sadhana properly, then to some extent satva comes in our life. On one hand, we can say that a Kshatriya is in sattva, rajas, a Vaishya is in rajas, a Shudra is in tamas. But it is not like that.
If they are in varna ashram, then there is some sattva in Shudra also. That is why he is following the rules of Shudra. There is some sattva in Vaishya, that is why he is following the rules of Vaishya.
There is some sattva in Kshatriya. So, in that way, some things will gradually change about us. But, if we… रादद्वेश्वमुक्तेस्तु विशयानिनेश्वतात्मवश्चेख विधेयात्मा If we work according to the rules of the scriptures, then we are in a way in a safe place.
That is why, in the scriptures also, the rules of the scriptures are not the same for Kshatriya, Brahmin, Kshatriya and Shudra. They are different. So, in that way, if we keep on doing bhakti, then different devotees will have to be given different types of facilities.
That you can serve like this, you can serve like this. Because, we don’t have to see that this devotee is in Rajas, this devotee is in Tamas, this devotee is in Shudra, this devotee is in Vaishya. We have to see that all devotees have to be served.
And how each devotee can be served, what facilities can be provided to him, that we… that devotee can try himself, and his mother and father can also try. Through this, the one who has to come above Sarjas, Tamas, So, we have to come up from one side, and through sadhna we will have some connection with satva, satva and shuddha satva. And then slowly, through sadhna and shuddha satva, we will come towards satva.
Thank you very much. Gantraj, Shrimad Bhagwatam ki. Shrila Prabhupada ki.
