thank you so the Krishna is describing to Uddhava the conversation between King Yadu and Brahmana so King Yadu is asking here how did you oh Brahmana how did you develop this extraordinary intelligence I am seeing that you are not doing much no you are wandering around fearlessly and yet you are extraordinarily expert how have you acquired in this world such great knowledge and for what purpose do you move around freely as if you were a child so here the question that King Yadu is asking is significant in fact the question is two fold first is how does one develop wisdom how have you developed the wisdom and when you have wisdom normally we expect wise people to be busy in some constructive activity using the wisdom to share share the wisdom with others and to do good to others why are you wandering around like a child so it is said that the best way to learn is to learn from the learned because learn from others because you know our life is not long enough for us to commit all the mistakes if we commit all the mistakes there will be no end to our life I mean in the sense that there will be no end to our material existence if we have to learn from all the mistakes ourselves and moreover there are many insights that we can learn from others so therefore a king is certainly wise but the king is asking this great brahmana where did you learn so much from and for normal people it is that they work in a spirit of attachment and by that work gradually they internalize what scripture has taught them and that is the process by which they develop spiritual knowledge but here it is said या मासा दिभ्वा लोकम् how did you acquire so much knowledge in this world when you are अकर्तू so actually speaking spiritual knowledge doesn’t necessarily come by engaging in frenzied action it comes through sincere devotion and dedication to learning so one who wants to learn can observe and learn in our moral society often the busy pace of life prevents us it paralyzes our capacity for deep reflection there are so many things to do that we can’t think of why we are doing what we are doing we really don’t get time or the peace to ponder the deeper fundamental questions of life so अकर्तू so some of our greatest actions or our greatest steps forward in life may not be steps in the physical sense at all sometimes when we think we have to achieve something and okay we have to do something significant but in our growth in life sometimes our greatest steps forward may involve no physical movement at all they can be steps in insight they can be leaps even quantum leaps in insight which can come during calm reflection which seems to external vision to be passive in action but it can lead to the greatest learning and बालवत childlike so there is a difference between being childlike and being childish being childish means being frivolous being unintelligent being careless whereas being childlike means like being innocent unburdened so an advanced spiritualist is not childish but is childlike because there is no selfishness there is no ulterior motive whatever the person is externally that’s what the person is internally and this kind of transparency helps one to move forward steadily in one’s spiritual life therefore when we recognize this विद्वाम शर्ति बालवत so when we are doing meditation if you remember this point that some of our greatest insights can come to us when not when we are in the frenzy of action but when we are in the calm of meditation then we can take meditation much more seriously recognizing the enormous value and potency that it has and move forward to develop that to tap that value and potency and enrich and empower ourselves
