out of love literally means because the word karna is related with the word karna which means flesh he thinks karna is flesh in means inside and re means again so reincarnation means to come into the body again now reincarnation is not just a belief system that is traditional to hinduism or some other eastern religions if you look at world history eminent people extending from pythagoras and socrates and plato in greece to native americans to aztecs and mayans to egyptians to sahibians to australians they all believe in reincarnation the truths were a class of people who lived in england in england and north eastern europe and their belief in reincarnation was so strong reincarnation such a self-evident truth for them that often when they would take loans from other people they would sign the loan with a guarantee that i will pay you this loan back in the next life and it was accepted as a legal document and there are today in the british museum the remains of legal documents from the druid period the druids lived around third century bc so they are they have so incarnation is a widely held belief and in america one out of four people believe in reincarnation according to gallup polls and overall if you consider the global population one out of every three people believe very much not only that there was a famous european philosopher after schopenhauer so he said that if i was asked to define europe we live around 1500 years ago he said if i was asked to define europe i would define europe as that part of the world which suffers from the incredible delusion that our present life is the only life that we have so he said that our present life is the only life this is a belief that is restricted only to you and he calls it a delusion and not just a delusion it’s a false belief not just a delusion he calls it an incredible delusion incredibly it’s a it’s a unbelievable illogical delusion so we in our modern scientific times it’s a reincarnation logic one of the most prominent philosophers of europe is saying that this belief in reincarnation is illogical why why is it that all over the world throughout history intrusive people are always jumping to reincarnation right in china we had schools of Confucianism we should not accept god so they accepted reincarnation so what is the reason for this widespread popularity and why is it that in our modern times people don’t believe in reincarnation so much and more importantly which is this is the conclusion how does it matter to us whether we believe in reincarnation or not to some extent our whole modern society’s attitude towards life and reality has been shaped by science and to some extent science has contributed to this belief in reincarnation because from the scientific point of view our body is a functioning unit when the functioning stops what is called life ends and according to materialistic science or mechanistic science the light is nothing more the body is destroyed life is destroyed and therefore there is no possibility of any reincarnation but this is not the view of science this is the view of one body of scientists within the broad body of knowledge for science these scientists are not necessarily on it when they say that life ends with the destruction of the body so reincarnation can be investigated scientifically in multiple ways one of the ways would be to see whether life can be biologically explained or whether life requires some non-biological explanation this is life limited to the body or does life extend beyond the body and there are many scientific experiments done by scientists of international reputation like Nobel laureate Dr. Linda Venki, John Eccles they have strongly realized that consciousness is non-biological non-therapeutic it doesn’t depend on the body there’s an ability this brain it is something which is beyond so we will not go into the technical side of that we will focus on reincarnation so another evidence that can come for reincarnation within science is from the field of past life memories some people recollect that i was so and so i was this person over here and now this could just be like this so is there any big critical way to know whether what the person is seeing if somebody claims i was so and so in a particular place how do we know whether that person is just laughing or is actually right this was a question that was posed by Dr. Jan Stevenson who was a psychiatrist in the University of Virginia and he eventually developed a whole department in personality studies and he spent four decades of his life traveling all over the world collecting more than 3,000 cases of children who remember their past lives so he focused on children because he found that there are children at the age of two three four we suddenly start speaking about the previous life and we start speaking they express such details that are unknowable by any normal means for the for a child of that age and normally they speak like that they behave like the other person so Dr. Stevenson found cases not just in India where people believe in reincarnation not just in Lebanon where there are Muslims Muslims normally don’t believe in reincarnation but the groups Muslims of Lebanon some of them believe in reincarnation but even found cases of children talking about past life memories in America and Europe and he wrote several books about his research so we had a video presentation today which unfortunately is not working but so I had a small video to give to you also but I’ll just describe the gist of that right now so what exactly happens so let me take a case of an American boy named James Langdon so this case was broadcast on ABC TV if we brought it later in this will it be visible for everyone so we’ll try it maybe we have to come a little ahead let us see some might say unbelievable story six years old he was born to American parents so the age of two had an impassioned interest in planes and knew phenomena of planes and started having nasty nightmares which he said that he was being shot at and that he was encouraged to speak his memories because the things started for example he mentioned a place and a five year childhood there and he gave several other details which you should not have even known to him so his father knows as you saw in the documentary this is pretty good but as he found more and more facts James said he’s right which he just should not have bought no this is a small world at that time so this as I said because skepticism moved towards me and he excites now that his son is the main garnish of the white pilot who played the role of James and who had died in the second world war in fact Bruce Langer and Dwight Anderson they have done a good book about their experiences with their son they called their book a soul survivor the body did not survive the soul survived and he came back so this is maybe there are many more chases in tradition as I said we’ll be discussing this working on these four ways through the scientific, logical, philosophical and spiritual so as I was talking about the documentary he says the brain is like a computer but it’s programmed as something that is outside itself just like an operator is working on the computer the computer is functioning the operator goes off the computer gets switched off the computer no longer works so like that the soul is the operator of the body the soul leaves at that time the body no longer functions this is the operator that works on one computer and later on the operator may work on another computer like that the soul moves from one body to another body now Dr. Stevenson wrote many books so his first book was 28th in the history of reincarnation and then after that he went on to write many other books and his final book was brain reincarnation biology which was a 2500 page long and a popular edition of that book was where reincarnation biology intersects so he he he developed or came up with four kinds of evidences so in this video that you saw actually only one evidence was available there were recollections recollections means memories so person remembers this fact like that and we can check out was it possible for this child to know this in biology and somebody tells you oh we might have read something on tv or we might have read something somewhere we do not need to see so Stevenson went on and found further evidences so repercussions in this particular case that was that past life family was dead but in many cases as we discuss families now if the past life family is alive and the child is taken to the past life family’s place and he resides in many places people and objects over there like many collections the word is behaviors this is how the most difficult thing explained away so the child does not behave like he belongs to this family he behaves as if he is another person belonging to another family and there are many aspects of that behavior so here James has a phobia for plays and we get a fun level interest in plays but all the time he also has a great fear for plays that’s why he would have the nightmares so many times people have behavior which corresponds to some behavioral pattern or event in his life and then there are birth marks that means that at the physical location on the body where the person in the previous life suffered a wound and because of which he died and at same physical location in this body this small child has a defect or mark so let’s see all this so this is the case of a young man who lived in Kapodi which was a village near Lucknow, Hyderabad and he was the son of Hyder Nisha, one of the residents and at the age of 25 he used to do the vegetable and fruit cart ride so this cart was built by a truck and he died in the spot and 10 months later in a village a few kilometers away from Kapodi in Bajnagar a boy was born in the Raira’s family named Nandishwar so when he was two the first word that he spoke now that he will speak he is speaking Kapodi, Kapodi, Kapodi was the name of the village in which he she was living and also Kartha, so Kartha in the local dialect means cart so Hyderabad was built by a cart and then as he grew up now this is just he started to behave at the age of two and as he became little by about three she started speaking that my name is not Naresh, my name is Mushi, I don’t belong here, I belong to Kapodi and then now this Mushi’s father, Hyder Ali Pashar, he was the Hakeem, a Hakeem is a Muslim anyway so he would go house to house and beg, ask and do begging and once a week on every Thursday so he would go to different villages so every Thursday once a week he would come to the village of Majid then this Naresh would go and as soon as Naresh learned to walk whenever he sees Hakeem he would walk up to him whenever I’m out of school I would see some Hakeem’s, very small boy running up to him and Hakeem would start walking away and then this small little boy would walk away and I can’t catch him doing nothing and his parents showed him to certain few nuns like many nuns, many nuns and he would call his Hakeem as Baba, his parents showed him to call him Baba Baba is the word that is used for son but Baba is the word that is used in Urdu and for both husband and wife to refer to the father, so the nuns talked to Mushi of them but when he was around 6 so he would keep behaving like this, speaking like this but his father rejected him, at the age of 6 he goes to his mother and says you should take me to Kapoli otherwise I’m going there alone and when he was taken there his mother said if you go there I don’t know anyone, he said I want to go to the house of that Hakeem, he said you don’t know where this is? so I know, I’ve been taken there and as soon as they got down he straight went to that house so the previous day what happened, before this, on the first day, he said don’t you recognize me? I’m your son Mushi, take me home with you, he was shocked, he said I can’t take you home and the next day Mushi’s mother said you haven’t taken him there, he forced his mother so he took his mother, my mother took him there, he went straight to the house and Hakeem he called his father, this Paki guy, and then Paki’s wife was there, Najeeb he called her, and then his three brothers were there, his sisters were there, he recognized all of them, his sister’s husband was named Mohammad Aslam, he recognized him by name and then he asked where is my brother Haseeb and they were all befriending him, so he recognized a strange boy coming into their house, recognizing everybody by name, he asked me where is this first day that happened, he said Naseeb, his mother was sleeping, he ran over to Naseeb, small six year old boy, he ran over and embraced him and started kissing him, Naseeb woke up and he called him and asked him who is this, he said he is my favourite neighbor, and then he looked around in the house, there he kept my two kids, because I suppose my daughter is a financial trader, and before this he told, I kept all these things over there, on the other side, and they kept it, because their son and I are going to buy a house, and then he looked around, there are lot of people over there, around, so he had become his neighbor, so there was a neighboring man named Shamim, so he looked at Shamim, you know I had given him 300 rupees for saving, did you return it to my family or have you stole it, so now this was not known to anybody except Mr. Shamim, so he was taken, he said yes, I will return it, so then as he did one by one by one, the relations gradually, all the members of his family, they, you know what to do, finally everybody got a smile, how can I go like this, you won’t give me T and X, so now Naresh was born in a Hindu-Hindu family, and his parents who take T like never take X, but she on the other hand liked to take T and X practically every week, so he insisted that they give T and X, and only then gave, and after this, second time when they would meet, so Naresh as he would grow up, he would dress like a Muslim, talk like a Muslim, and although his parents tease him, and his parents were also disturbed by this sort of behavior, but he persisted till the age of almost 7 or 8. Now, so Dr. Antonia Mills is a researcher from University of Virginia, she heard about this case, now this case has significance for many reasons, because sometimes, if say there are two parents who both believe in reincarnation, both families, then sometimes they may feel like, oh our child, the entire family has come back, he has sentimental longings, but in this case, prostitutes cases, it is very unlikely that anybody will have sentimental longings or possibility of any sort of problem, so she came all the way from America to investigate this case, and there is a journal of scientific exploration, so one of the most cutting edge journals in paranormal paranoia, it investigates paranormal paranoia with normal scientific methodology and legal, so in this published article, after finding out the issue of Nisha’s case, so when she came, she went to all the people, she interviewed everyone, and she found in this article, she said that, naturally, I am taught that I am a religious, I do not believe in reincarnation, so when Naresh told her, I am your son, I am your sister, so I went home, then I prayed for Allah, O Allah, what is this mystery, please reveal it to me, and then, the next morning, when Naresh was looking at all these people, he said, I understood, I got the answer, actually, Naresh was looking for Nishin, and his parents said, he observed Nishin, so he asked him to lift his shirt, they found that when the cart’s wooden poles had impinged his chest, and had created a serial wound, one of the wounds had been fatal, and they found that the same place in Nishin, in Naresh’s body, there was a depression, so she said that, although I do not believe in reincarnation, but the evidence, the experience of this case, most people do not believe it, and there are many cases like this, there was one, just recently, again in North India, and his parents, they are Jats, and this small boy, when he was two years old, one day suddenly he told his mother, I don’t eat the food that you are feeding me, why? My sister said, because I am a Brahmin, you are a low caste person, I don’t eat food by the caste people, and he absolutely refused to eat food, and for the next one and a half years, till he became four, his father had to get food from a neighbouring Brahmin’s house, and finally, after he became four, he gradually accepted, ok, I was a Brahmin in my previous life, but now I am a Jat, so I should eat the food that is given by my parents, so there are many cases like this, where there is, as I said, there are contradictions, intermixions in behaviours, so in some cases, the behaviours are much more than likes and dislikes, there are cases of what is called as zero glossing, zero glossing means, glossing is language, zero is foreign, so people know language, which is foreign to them, so there was a case investigated by Dr. Joel Fisher, he wrote his book, Life Between Lies, so there was a young man in Jackson, when he was recollecting his previous life, and his non-illiteration, he started speaking and writing in a language, he knows some script that was incomprehensible to him, so he was remembering his old life as a Viking, you know Vikings were people in North Europe, they were especially warriors who travelled by ship, and that makes sense, so he wrote down several letters, several sentences he wrote down, and then Dr. Joel Fisher, look at it, it didn’t make any sense to him, but then he gave this to biologists, biologists are language experts, and they found this was a language of the old version of Norse, now in that part of North Europe, Icelandic is used, so Icelandic descended from an old language called Norse, and this language is extinct today, and this writing was grammatically and semantically, semantically in terms of meaning, correct in Norse, and another generation in Jackson, remember a language called Asanipalmi, which is spoken in Mesopotamia, old Iraq, from the age of 12th century to 6th century, so now there is no normal way in which a person can learn this language, why? Because this language was spoken in India, but all other languages of their time were not exposed to modern languages, and those kinds of people, whoever they teach, it is specialized course, Jackson had never understood this at all, so when children or people not only exhibit information, but skills, that is even more significant, because neuroplasty is one of the strongest and most prolific techniques, for the reality of reincarnation in scientific knowledge, and now let’s come to, there are many more evidences of behavior, so let’s move forward, let’s talk about the past, this is a picture from Dr. Simmons’s book, I read reincarnation biology in his book, so now, this boy, he was in Burma, so in his previous life, he had died by, a truck had hit him, he had fallen down, when he had fallen down, the truck had run over his car, so what had happened was, the other driver was thrown back, and the truck had run over one of his legs, and he died soon after that, so now you see in this leg, now this boy, when he was born, he did not have any injury, he did not have any disease, maybe his parents had any genetic problems, but this boy was born with a birth defect, now from a medical point of view, this kind of unnatural birth defects, have only three causes, one is genetic cause, that the parents had some problem, because of which the child was born, second is, that the mother was malnourished or deceased during pregnancy, and third is, that the mother took some harmful substances, that she smoked or drank, or she took some addictive drugs, which affected the embryo, and Dr. Simmons has found that in majority of the cases, including this case, none of these So, from a scientific point of view, there is no explanation why the children have birth defects, in some cases, there are twins, and they, what is known in science as monozygotic twins, monozygotic twins means, both the twins are born with the same zygote, so sometimes when the twins are born, two sperm cells in the mother’s womb and two eggs are born, so then the twins are genetically different, but if only one zygote splits in two, they are genetically completely identical, and in monozygotic twins, then there are cases, for example, in the case of Kamdilekha, so there are some other cases like that, where one twin alone has a birth defect, and the other twin has a striking birth defect, or a bone defect, and sometimes there are two fall off twins, one female, and there are two sisters who have died, and they are reborn as twins, so one of the sisters has particular birthmarks on her body, and she has a very different behaviour from other sisters, there are many cases like this, which are not explainable by model, reductionism, or evolutionary science, but we have ample explanations for them, searching for searching results. So now, how accurate is this? Could it just be by chance that somebody died somewhere, and he had already a womb, and somehow, somebody else was born somewhere else, and that person was also in the womb at the same time. Dr. Stevenson did a very rigorous research, just like we have an x-y coordinate system, so he did a graphing system for dividing the body, and he divided the body into 128 parts, all about one inch, and then we found that the correlation was actually down to an inch, that means the bullet moved in a very short length, the bullet has come in the middle of the right temple, and gone out from the left temple, then the birthmark on the child in the next slide, was right in the middle of the right temple, and not only that, the birthmark on the left temple was bigger than the right, that’s what happened, when the because the greater group grew there, and its effect was great, so he found that this was precise, there was one Turkish man named Nesip, this Nesip, he had 6 birthmarks, 6 birthmarks.
So now, for one womb to match by chance, the probability is 1 is to 128, because there are 128 relations of partnership involved, so now for 6 birthmarks to match together, it is 1 by 128 relation of all of this, that is so low a probability, that it is almost impossible, to have a correlation, Dr. Jacobson concluded after many years of research, 40 years of research, he said that the evidence is sufficient for a person to begin a reincarnation in the most. So, there is a whole book written on this, and we will go on, we will move very slowly, sections in this for a lack of time. Okay, so if reincarnation exists, how does it matter? So reincarnation has some scientific basis, but it also has a logical basis.
Now, there are a lot of popular cases in India, so there was a white cover here, now some other cover is going on. So, imagine, say two teams have played a great match, and both come to the ground, and in fact, one team’s score starts with 0, and other team’s score starts with 200, it is not fair, one team’s score starts with 0, and the other starts with 1. So, imagine there is a world cup, where let us say 60 countries are participating, and all of them have different starting scores, it is not fair. Now, if you see different starting scores, we have two main reasons, one is that the match is fixed, somebody is cheating on you, or the other is, it is a chance, some teams get good scores by chance, some teams get bad scores.
So, actually if you look at your life, all of us have different starting points. Some children, if we consider early birth and old age, some children, whether it is not early or not early birth, very often those children are staying out here. If you look at it, some children are born in very poor families, so they start with only 0. The others were born in middle class families.
The others were born in still middle age families. So, if there is somebody’s starting score 0, somebody’s starting score will be 0. Somebody’s starting score might be 0. So, now, why do we see these differences in the starting points of our lives? So, from a particular point of view, one explanation is just by chance. Life is like a lottery.
And some people win the lottery, some people lose the lottery. So, if you are on the loser’s side, bad luck, what can you do? That is not a very satisfactory explanation. And we don’t see life in the individuals.
This is why it goes the other way around. If I go away, I get diseased. If I am careless, I say, if I am careless, I will die.
Generally, it is caused by the fat in the mouth, the risk of the soil, the principle mood, and the highest class, and we talk about karma. But in general, we don’t see that. Arbitrary life doesn’t give any sense to that.
So, now, what is the algorithmic effect? You see, this is a great phenomenon. Some companies have zero score, some companies have 50 score, some companies have 90. One algorithmic effect is just by chance.
Another algorithmic effect, the organizers are different. What this means is that God has arranged things. God has made some people poor, some people rich, some people wealthy.
Now, this is the same as before. Some people are good looking, some people are average looking, and some people look such that you don’t want to hire them. So, what is the difference? Now, you say, God has fixed the match for all of us.
Why is God disturbing? Actually, for many people, God gives two options. One option requires accepting arbitrary chance. And the other option requires accepting arbitrary God.
Don’t you see the difference? God unfairly has made difficulty within society for us. So, can we say that both of these are concepts of God as good and just? In the western religious tradition, we have the Abrahamic religions. The Abrahamic religions means, they are the religions which in the form of the non-starting prophets of Abraham.
Judaism, Christianity, Islam. All they are called as Abrahamic religions. If you look at the Koran by the non-western religious tradition, there are references to these religions there.
But the current teachers of these religions don’t accept reincarnation. Although there are references in their own scriptures, they don’t accept reincarnation. And because of this, we just can’t explain why there are references to the non-starting prophets.
And because of their inebriated experiences, we unfortunately don’t believe them. I don’t want to believe in a God who is arbitrary like this. If I listen to this, God is actually testing all of us.
By giving some people more, by giving some people less. This is a test from God. In a test from God, it’s fine.
The question is not whether there is a test. Imagine if you have exam. Now pass through it.
It’s natural for us to have exam. But if you get a paper, which is very different. If you look at this woman sitting next to you.
She has got a different paper. She has got a very different paper. So the question is not why am I getting the exam.
But why are different people getting different exams? Same guy. Which is a sin. Isn’t it? That’s a immaturity.
Isn’t it? So, actually this idea of God giving different exam to different people. By having different people, you start analyzing the different side effects. It’s not simply a virtue.
It’s joy. And it’s not a sin. So, because of this belief, there is a little sin in this.
But, if you look at the cricket match, these are not only two options. They are matched between two people. And if you see, one team is starting with 4-0, other team is starting with 4-1.
The third explanation is going to be that either two teams match. And one team is more extraordinary than the other. So, then the different starting points are not because of chance.
The different starting points are not because the organizers are biased. The different starting points are because the teams perform differently than the others. For this, we have to understand the multiple meanings.
So, like that, the Vedic philosophy helps us to understand it. Our present life is like one universe. So, one universe.
And different people are starting at different point. That is because in their previous lives, they have to change everything. So, God is not unjust.
God is just. God is reciprocal. So, the way we act in this universe.
So, Vedic transmission helps us to make sense out of the inequities. Injustice to our body. So, Vedic transmission helps us to understand.
Okay, even if somebody is better than me. Somebody is wealthier than me. He is a smaller person.
We will do something better in his future. That is why he is better now. And if I do something better now, I think he is better in the future.
And in this way, reincarnation places our destiny not in the hands of an arbitrary chance. Not in the hands of an arbitrary God. But in our own hands.
By our choices and our actions, we will be better in our future. So, reincarnation helps us to reconcile the apparent injustice of this world with the supreme justice of God. That is why, many people all over the world have seen the logic of reincarnation.
I will just offer a few quotes here. Nisha Dasi’s sister was a novelist, literature writer. There is no death.
How can there be death? Everything is part and parcel of death. The soul never dies and the body never leaves the body. The war victim was another and an infection.
I know I am restless. No doubt I have died myself ten thousand times before. I have asked the holy God a resolution.
I know the ambience of time. The resolution is death. I love the death.
Jack Randle said, I did not breathe when I was born. Nor when I was 15. I have been growing.
There is nothing. To in-calculate the millions of millenniums, all my previous selves had a lovelessness eclosed from within me. For in-calculating time is the ancient norm.
So now, there are many personalities. There are experts. Jim Franklin says.
Jim Franklin, you know, founding fathers of America. I look upon death as necessary to the constitution as to me. We shall die with the flesh in the morning.
So now what is reincarnation as I explained? It was for coming into flesh again. The researcher explained that we have been born to many bodies in the past. And we can go through many bodies in the future.
Vastansa Jiva Ramana Mahaprabhu said. Navamani Viharanti Aravata Rani. Brahmachari Ramana Mahavidhi Rani.
Anandamani Sanyanti Navamani Devi. So what the researcher explained in the Bhagavad Gita, Chaturthi, was when you do that, this body will be in the flesh. Vastansa Jiva Ramana Mahaprabhu said.
Jiva means the body. We are, we give birth. Navamani Viharanti.
So, we have this body. It’s still there. What do we do next for that? Actually, we take care of our kids.
We don’t neglect our own selves. We take care of our children’s life. And nourishing our children’s life is also important for us.
So, we, both math, I was talking about probably engineering students, electrical students, and other college students. Now, imagine, if you are told in your college, you study for 4 years. And after studying for 4 years, you will get a degree.
The degree will be valid for 4 days. The degree will be valid for 4 days. And after that, you are no longer an engineer, no longer a doctor.
You are an educated, uneducated, illiterate person. So, as you are studying for 4 years, you get a degree that lasts for 4 days. Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it? Are there any more lasting degrees? Are there any better degrees than that? No.
It is the illiterate life. All of us have society setting goals for us. You will become famous.
You will have this. You will have that. And you start pursuing those goals.
It is illiterate life. You start pursuing those purposes you are passionate about. And by the time you become 40, 45, 50, maybe you don’t have to become the CEO of a company.
You become by the time you are 50, 55. And then, just when you are allowed to sit down and have a bottle and enjoy, you have a degree. You finish.
And then afterwards, you have a beautiful setting. When I was a child, I was dying to be a boy and play out in the streets and the parks. Because when I was a boy, I was dying to be in college and free with friends.
When I was in college, I was dying to have a job and standing on my own feet. When I had a job, I was dying to get married and enjoy. When I was married, I was dying to have my own kids and dogs for peace.
And then, when I had kids, I was dying to have them married. And now I am dying and I realize I forgot to live. I forgot to live.
So what happens is, whatever we said for hours in our life, the goals, those goals take up so much of our time and energy. And actually, the goals stay with us for so many years. So a wise person thinks, are there any goals which take a longer time to achieve? This doesn’t mean that this is where we get the material goals.
But we don’t take up material goals for exclusive purposes only. The balance between the material, which is the temporary side of our life, and spiritual, which is the eternal side of our life. And that is the path that we learn in the Vedic culture.
So, in the Kriyayoga, I have just started the Kriyayoga in Mumbai. I went all over the world. I had a master, he was 70.
He shared the lessons of the Vedas all over the world. He said, that we have not come here to tell you to give up everything. Spiritual life is not a rejection, it is our connection.
We don’t have to reject the world, but we have to connect ourselves with God. When we connect ourselves with God, that brings a sense of balance and harmony, harmony and peacefulness in our life. We are reincarnated, we have been immobilized, we have been as a creature.
So, as I said, our body is like a temporary residence. Another example to understand the relationship between the body and the soul is, a rented house. So, when we rent a house, we stay in that house for some time, as long as we are paying the rent.
And then the government has to calculate the house. When you ask your parents, they will tell you that it is a rented house. One of their primary concerns is, if you get your own house, I want to permanently live in peace.
So, the body is like a house for us. And the body, which we have presently, is like a rented house where we can only live in peace. So, why is this a thing? How can I get a house? How can I get a home, from which I will not have to make love? We are souls in a spiritual house.
So, when we rent a house, as long as we have temporary things, we stay in this temporary home. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna describes, that how does reincarnation take place? What body do I get in my next life? So, this primarily depends on our desires. Whatever we desire, that is what we will get in life.
Of course, what we desire and what we deserve. Just like, if I want to get plants in one particular house, and I want to get another house to stay in. Now, what difference does this house have to make? What I desire, what is my wish, what kind of house do I like, and what kind of house can I stay in.
So, I may desire to stay in the white house, but I am not having the money to do that. So, therefore, what I desire and what I deserve. So, what we deserve is our karma.
So, that karma that we do in this life, is written in the Bhagavad Gita. What if we do bhakti? If we develop our love for Krishna, then Krishna is eternal. And if we develop love for the eternal, then we attain the eternal.
As long as we love the temporary, we return back to the supreme. So, this bhakti emerges from the Vedic tradition. It is a systematic spiritual assignment to redirect our affection from the temporary to the eternal.
And the central aspect of spiritual science is the power of sound. So, when we chant, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. But this compilation tells us to be attracted to Krishna.
It awakens our emotion for Krishna. And by that, gradually, when we start developing our love for the eternal, we come out of the cycle of birth and death. And we attain eternal life.
So, we are going round and round the cycle. Right? When I stand there, I am so engrossed of what it is like to stand there. I am so engrossed.
It is like a flash of lightning in a real video game. We get all about the world in this match, and what has happened in this budget, and what has happened over there. I am getting many questions about the conception of life in a match.
Now, I am going to go this direction, to understand the science of reincarnation. To summarize, I am going to have a few questions. I started talking about how, all over the modern history, because those operations are taken to Confucius, and the Druids, and the Egyptians, and the Native Americans, and everything in reincarnation.
Then we have the scientific evidence for reincarnation. I saw a video about it in China. I discussed the case in China.
I explained the research of Dr. Ernest Jensen, which is about four levels of renaissance. Reincarnation, conditions, behaviors, and birth marks. Then I discussed how does reincarnation help us.
Firstly, it helps us to make sense of life. This is an example of a cricket match starting, literally starting with a few strokes. The law was a little starting point.
So, instead of accepting that the world is governed by arbitrary chance or by arbitrary law, we understand it as a just law, and our starting point is going to be by our own past actions. Then after we discussed about how the purpose of the knowledge of reincarnation is that we are taking in something eternal. You study for four years, you have a fourth grade.
Instead of that, you study, you prepare yourself so that you will get part and full achievement. And that eternal achievement comes when you learn about God for the eternal life. It is possible to observe it.
Other than that, it is impossible. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Okay, please go ahead. I will not take seconds. Can you explain it? Vashu, Vashu Maharaj, is a little bit his son.
His son is God. So, I am asking, his son is God. Now, the point here is that Vashu Maharaj is an eternal associate of the Lord.
And wherever the Lord performs pastimes, he will go with the Lord over there. So, in that sense, we can say, he is taking up the practice of puja over there. So, God is performing pastimes in various places.
So, wherever the pastime is performed, he goes over there. So, it is not that Vashu Maharaj is remembering the Lord as his son. That is a misunderstanding.
That is an inherent confusion. The point is, this way or the other, I am a Christian. This way or the other, somehow or other, I am a Christian.
So, some devotee is still fortunate and exalted that he can have the Lord as his own son. There is no question of that. He will be happy to get liberated.
He is already liberated. And he will go wherever the Lord wants him to. The Lord wants him to go to his future home, he goes to his future home.
The Lord wants him to stay in the middle world. He performs an association of pastimes, he will do it. Any other questions? Do you have anything to add? No.
I think this is close to our topic. So, can I come back to you? My question is, what are the hindrances to Paramahamsa’s development of pastimes? That’s a very good question. Very important and relevant question.
Why are there hindrances to the Ramayana pastimes? There is, as you can see, a picture of this antiquity from this body you have missed. So, because of that, in general, if we see, our memories do not survive. If I ask you, what were you doing one week ago at 8.30 in the evening? So, you will be confused.
So, just because we can’t remember it doesn’t mean that you are not aware about existing at 8.30 in the morning. You will be like this. So, it is our tendency to keep doing the same thing.
And the more the time passes, the more we forget. But, when we begin to forget differently, in general, when we go from one body to another body, there are two chronically like this. One chronically is very painful like this.
One chronically very distressed. At the time of death, the soul has to leave the body every day and every night. And it is extremely painful.
And the very nature of being in pain, this is how it works. Even in this life, if somebody passes away, it happens very quickly. But, if they have actually passed away in time, their memories are very intense.
And that’s how we are living. So, it is a natural psychological coping mechanism or defense mechanism to deal with pain by applying the bounds of ignorance. So, nature does that inevitably.
Sometimes the painful memories are very intense. And then, the intensity of the pain is required for the next step. Similarly, birth is not very pleasant.
We can say happy birthday to a friend, but I tell you, I am not happy on his birthday. He is crying. He is crying.
The mother is screaming. So, it’s not easy. Now, scientists have found out that during pregnancy, this could be biological, it’s neither before nor after.
During pregnancy, the mother’s womb secretes oxytocin. Oxytocin is essentially the ingredient in the process of pregnancy. Now, oxytocin is known to be associated with amnesia.
Amnesia means memory loss. So, generally speaking, when people get amnesia, it is found that the oxytocin level in their brain is abnormally high. So, the same oxytocin is there in the mother’s womb.
The oxytocin represents a biological loss for the memory loss. And, further to that, even when we are born, we shouldn’t think that people who remember their past lives are having a very pleasant life. Isn’t this good identity for the children? And, just as in this life, we see that some people have a greater memory, why is that? I just find it out.
Some people are able to remember some facts that they were able to remember 10 years ago. Some others forget what they had remembered just one day. So, this difference in memory capacity is because of individual karma.
Similarly, the general nature is not to wipe out the residual memories. But, some people, by some unusual karma, are having residual memories. And, we shouldn’t think that memory loss is good.
Because, sometimes the children say, am I natural? Am I responsible? Because both families take care of their child, and the child’s love, and the history, nature helps us lead the journey from one life to another. One life’s problems are enough for me. So, we don’t have to burden ourselves.
Imagine, if I died in an accident in my life, a costly accident in that time, an accident is going on and on in our mind, you don’t even bother to explain. So, nature prepares us for our next life afresh, so that we start off properly. Otherwise, we will always have an emotional and mental hangover, which will prevent us from engaging in life.
Any other questions? Very interesting. Very interesting. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. the cycle.
This is where the soul can find it. But within that, there a particular soul will find it. The trajectory of a particular soul’s journey will be determined by that soul, desire and karma.
So Lord Krishna explains in the Bhagavad Gita, 14th chapter, 3rd verse. So he says that those people who live five religious lives, they get elevated destinations. Those who live materialistic lives, they get destinations at the same level like us.
They are born as humans. And those who live sinful lives, abominable lives, they come down to the level of species of the world that we exist in. So it’s possible that somebody we want to stay here, but exists because we have left what we have.
Any other questions? Hare Krishna Guruji. Whatever happens on this planet is governed by God. So when we talk about reincarnation, by reincarnation what value does God want to convey us? Like we just saw a normal phenomenon.
And I agree with this thing. But what does God want to tell us by reincarnation? What does God want to tell us by reincarnation? Good question. Basically, God wants to turn back time to when we were happy.
That is God’s ultimate purpose for this world. The world has two purposes. Experimentation and Rebornation.
Experimentation means we have a desire. Maybe this will change. Maybe that will make me happy.
That will make me happy. So all we need in this world is a facility for us to experiment. Try this.
Try that. Try that. And once we have finished, all these things are making me happy.
That is Rebornation. Now we turn back to the level without which we can’t do it. So the reincarnation gives us different facilities for experimenting Somebody wants to enjoy flying high in the sky again.
That’s a boy’s goal. Why? I’m telling you all the time. You become a tiger and roar.
Everybody has to answer you. See that. So the different bodies that are there and the different reincarnations that we have facilitate our different desires to enjoy this world.
And ultimately we get out of the cycle only when we are happy. I never came up with this idea that I’m a soul and I can do better than you. It’s a moral legacy.
A cat sees a rat, the cat will be moral legacy of the past. We have this as Hindu. We have this as Jain by instincts.
We human beings we are also pushed by instincts. So we have to get rid of instincts. This is what we should do, this is what we should not do.
So human life is a chance for us to end the reincarnation. So what does God teach us? God wants to ultimately teach us that whatever you think is going to make you happy is not going to make you happy. Therefore try it out.
Try it out. It’s only the body, it’s only the incarnations. But if you truly learn the lesson of life, if you truly become happy, then I’m going to tell you that it will make you more happy.
If you learn the lesson of love from me, it will make you more happy. So in one sense reincarnation is the way God expresses his compassion towards us. He doesn’t force us.
This is what we have to do. If you don’t do this, you are going to go to hell. So we can try it out.
Whether we are happy or negative. That’s how God expresses his love and compassion towards us so that we can be more reincarnated. I have two questions for you.
Why are all souls not reincarnated? All souls are reincarnated but not all souls remember their ancestors. Why do they not remember? I’ll explain that. If reincarnation is a fact, then why do scientific religions not speak about it? It’s because, you know, when Jesus asked about his revelations, mostly he spoke about his customers.
There are clear customers. There are customers where he says that in There is much that I have to tell you but I am not able to tell you. In the Quran, there is a passage where he says that, you know, I have so much to tell you, but if I told you, you would have broken your hearts.
So in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says, जानन्देहं तुझेखियूं ने खुद्यान्पवाने खुद्यों ने खुद्यान्पवाने खुद्यों ने खुद्यान्पवाने खुद्यों ने खुद्यान्पवाने हो शिर्षिये थे In chapter 2, he says, that was true. All knowledge, phenomena, is not life. After we leave it, there’s nothing left to be done.
So actually, if we look at the context, this This doesn’t mean that Christianity is non-religious. It just means that if you look at the historical context, Jesus really wanted to open-minded people. So they tried their best to elevate people according to what their capacity was to do.
If you look at the Bhagavad Gita, if you look at the Srimad Bhagavatam, the audience for them is trained, cultured people who are extremely focused on the literature. But the important thing is that there is nothing in the Bible or the Purana that contradicts or rejects reincarnation. It is not incompatible with reincarnation.
So, as the scriptures themselves tell, a partial reincarnation is given, and a complete reincarnation is given. Do we reincarnate as human beings or do we become animals also? It depends on our desires. It doesn’t depend on some religious dogma.
Because basically, practically, animals also have overall behavior, because they also have children, they have love-loss, pleasure. So animals are definitely animals. The same soul that is there on the body, a similar soul is there in the animal soul.
In the Bhagavad Gita 5.18, Lord Krishna says that विद्याविने संधने गान्मेवि अस्तिनी थुझेन वैश्वा अधेशे तन्देखासान रज्जिना तन्देखासान रज्जिना This is actually गान्मेवि अस्तिनी तसू तुदवि अकाव अस्तिनी नेर्विभानि शुकादाव विदाविदाव All these things can be confirmed So in this material world, in this human body if we live animalisticly we are just living these personal animalistic desires You know, human body different biological, anatomical it’s not positional also it’s exclusively biological So nature tells you, your present body is not suitable to have that animalistic desire Therefore, if there is an animal body then we need flesh It is here, naturally So nature basically gives this body to animals So surely, we can become animalistic In the future, there are so many of those souls who find out about species because of this use of their brain When I wear this type of green card, which is red I get a mask I get a mask It means I love Krishna Is this green card can end our biological condition For that, we have to not do prejudiced things but give attention usually prejudiced things can make us happy and focus on developing our motivation Once we do that, in this material world Krishna says that इविदाविदाव वेशां प्राउन्देविदाव जिवानस्ति देवला प्रुछुव जिवाविदाव If everybody lives in this world itself we can go beyond this we can take them When my human body is finished with death then why in my next birth people have birth marks resembling the previous born ones So it is explained that in the golden age our existence is of three levels we have physical existence that is the body then we have mental existence that is the mind and then we have spiritual existence which is soul so they compute it as the hardware, software and the operator the hardware, software and the operator the hardware will be the body the software will be the mind and the operator may be soul so now interestingly enough when we die what happens is basically our body becomes dysfunctional and the body is destroyed like some people they use their old software and the old so there are too many number doing that so when we it is not only the soul who dies, the soul is in the mind the mind is the cell in the body and and when the mind gets a negative interval, then at that time the mind has some sort of severe form death generally birth marks and birth defects happen when the death in the previous life is traumatic subtle, viral and traumatic now we are just living a normal life but the mind doesn’t have and the depression is still very fresh and when the mind comes in contact with the next body then the depression from the mind is transferred on to the body so we modern science, there is a whole genre of medicine based on psychosomatic diseases psyche is mind, so mind is body so when people have sickly thoughts worry anger, hatred negativity, then their body starts secreting enzymes and hormones that eventually lead to physical disorders and diseases so we see the mind capacity affects the body even this way same way, the mind impressions which are there from the previous life are carried over and when the child is in the womb, the contact of the impressed mind with this impressionable biological form of the embryo in the womb that contact produces the impression that’s how the birth marks are carried on from one body to another if one can remember one’s previous birth, then there is nothing stored it is not stored in the middle body so in general modern scientists think that our memory and everything are from intellectual machines but there are serious problems with this theory one of the most serious problems being that all our brains in the brain until 1990s scientists thought that ok, all the other cells in the body change, but the brain cells don’t change, whatever brain cells you have in your childhood or early adulthood you don’t grow any further brain cells those old cells die but now scientists have found out that all the brain cells are new so just like the newborn cells are dying they will be more and more similarly brain cells are also dying now, unlike the living body, there are serious problems with brain cells because the brain cells are supposed to be stored in information so normally, the information some information is stored in our DNA in the genes, but that is not changing, the design of the DNA is more or less fixed but we acquire memories I learn something I learn my math, I learn my geography so when I learn, where do I store this? so the scientist’s idea was that just like we have the brain is like a book I write on the book and it’s stored but imagine, I write a question on the paper and then gradually, one molecule at a time one molecule at a time, I change the whole paper with the message that I have written there what should happen? why did I write the message to them? something that’s what is actually happening in our brain if our memories are stored in our brain all the things that change one by one by one by one and still our memories live on so, the scientist in 2005, he used to talk to me why did he come up with this idea? he said, there are 25 big problems that science has not solved and one of them is, where are our memories stored? we just don’t know current scientists think that memories are stored not in the brain cells but in the synaptic connection to the brain but even those connection patterns that contains those connection patterns are changing so the scientist doesn’t know that yes our brain is certainly involved in our intellectual recollection of facts but it is not the brain cells it is the motor our memories are stored in our brain next one what happens is, it’s just like in a computer I have some information that I can see on the screen but apart from what I can see on the screen, there is much more information that is there in the eye of the computer it is not visible right now but it may be visible in the future so like that, there are certain facts that we consciously recollect and collect but other facts are only there so our brain is storing our memories partially and our memories are stored also in the brain and for the mind, the brain is like a tool so now what happens is that if the tool is damaged then the mind cannot continue it’s like, let’s say I write an article and I have to write an article and if I find that I have no knowledge and although I have the knowledge I cannot express it on the computer screen because the tool is damaged so our memories are not stored by neurobiology neurobiology means biology of the brain the neurobiology of the brain or neurochemistry of the brain is the tool by which the knowledge is stored in the mind is expressed in the brain and if the tool is damaged then that knowledge is there but it cannot be expressed so oxytocin does not delete the memory from the mind but it increases the ability of the mind to express that memory through the brain this is what actually a little bit abstract just like we have a piano and some pieces of piano are damaged so you cannot play those particular pieces of music and songs the musician still has the capability to play those notes but the instrument does not have that capacity so like that memories are there in the mind but the brain or the biological medium the neurobiology of the brain that is the medium so oxytocin damages the biological medium similarly like we have brain surgeon and part of brain surgeon the surgeon has to do the functional damage that is because the tool from the mind is damaged so it does not make the knowledge exist stop it thank you very much for your attention so we will have another program continuing today we discussed organ transmission next week we will discuss organ now i hope you have any practical questions so in general spiritual life has two aspects one is philosophical understanding second is practical application and for practical application it is best for us if we have individualized personalized guidance so especially for downstream circumference program in the 10th century we have counselor system and we have experienced practitioners who can not only answer the questions but also help you how to apply this knowledge in your life in a balanced way so that you don’t neglect your spiritual life we have counselor system and you can connect with some counselors and take this from your view thank you very much
