In the spiritual world, there is no killing of demons.
That happens only in the material world. So, then why does the Vasudev expansion of Krishna, the Vasudev Krishna do the killing of the demons? And if say the demons are killed by the Vasudev expansion, then why is it that the good demons like Putana don’t attend to Aikuntha and instead attend Goloka? Answer. The important point for understanding with respect to this Vasudev Krishna and Vrindavan Krishna is that first and foremost in terms of Tattva they are entirely one.
They are the same Supreme Lord and they are actually the same form of Supreme Lord. Vishnu and Krishna are also same Supreme Lord but they are different forms. Vasudev Krishna and Vrindavan Krishna, they are actually the same form itself, the Lord and the same form Krishna but they are in two different moods.
We can say Krishna and Vishnu are also in different moods. But they are in different moods and they also have different forms. With respect to Vasudev Krishna and Vrindavan Krishna, they have same form but different moods.
And Vrindavan is abode where there is simply the reciprocation of love. And anything apart from the reciprocation of love is considered by samacharya, especially Vrindavan Krishna talks elaborately about the difference. He explains that that is a slight level of difference from the sweetness of Vrindavan.
So, that special sweetness of Vrindavan that Krishna does nothing except reciprocating love. So, Krishna is purely a God of love. So, we know that when Krishna says to this world, he does various functions, dharma, samskara, pranabhaya, for that he does pritrana, sadhuna, minasya and vishwita.
So, these are in one sense the duties of God. So, when God does his duties, that is different from when God does out of his spontaneous love. Of course, when he is doing his duty also out of love, but it is a different degree.
When a king is with family members, when a king is with the sacral citizens, trying to reform them. In both cases the king may have love but there is a difference. So, Vrindavan is abode where Krishna is not doing anything out of duty.
Everything is out of love. And even his administration to his enemies. You can say that is also out of love, but that is of a slightly different degree than just the pastimes of love where there are no inimical elements, demonic elements present.
So, that aspect of the Lord, that feature of the Lord, who does nothing but loving pastimes, that is Vrindavan Krishna. And whenever there is anything apart from that required to be done, that is done by Vasudev Krishna. So, human killing is done by Vasudev Krishna.
Now, why is it that when humans are killed by Vasudev Krishna, they don’t attain Vaikuntha, they attain Goloka? Because it is Krishna only doing the killing. It is, although it is, we could say Vasudev Krishna has a little bit more, a slightly different mood, but Vasudev Krishna is Krishna. He doesn’t have a mood of Vaikuntha.
He has a mood of the spiritual, of the topmost spiritual world only. And the demons who are coming, of course, not all demons attain Goloka directly. It depends on different nature of the demons.
Some demons go to the spiritual world in personal form. Some demons go to the, go to the Brahma Jyoti. Specifically, it is mentioned that Putana becomes the nurse of Krishna.
And generally, the underlying principle is Yathamaam Prapadyante. At Putana, although she had a very malicious intention, but along with that, she also had a motherly intention. So, Krishna sucked out the malicious intention with her life there.
And the motherly intention, that was magnified by Krishna. Then that purified soul turned back to the spiritual world and become the nurse. So, because the mood was maternal, and the maternal mood for the Lord is not present in Vaikuntha.
And moreover, because the killing was done by Krishna, even if it’s Vasudev Krishna, he is not present in the mood of Vaikuntha. It’s Krishna himself. So, that’s why Putana attained the spiritual world in its highest aspect as Goloka.
There she became a nurse. As Uddhava says that, जिग्गाम से या अप्पे साधनि लेधे गतिन धार्ति लेधे गतिन धार्ति लेधे गतिन धार्ति He was the post of a dhārti, of a nurse. So, Vasudev Krishna and Vrindavan Krishna are primarily, this differentiation is there to focus on how Krishna is, as Vrindavan Krishna is purely asarāja.
He has nothing but the reciprocation of love. But, although from dāsa point of view there is a difference, from the tattva point of view, both of them are same. And that’s why there is not a difference between the destinations of the different demons who are killed, just because of who is killing them.
There are other factors, like the mood of the demon who is approaching, that will determine the difference in destinations whenever they are there. But that, when Vasudev Krishna is killed, that won’t be the factor which determines the destination.
