Isnt it that all the scriptures other than the Vedic scriptures are an interaction at the 1st level I.e. Force, Demigod worship at the 2nd level I.e.Desire,worshipping the Supreme Lord incarnations at the 3rd level I.e.Duty and worshipping the Supreme Lord,Sri Krsna is level 4 I.e.LOVE.
Question from Ashish Kumar Puri isn’t it that all scriptures other than the Vedic scriptures are an interaction at the first level that is force demigod worship at the second level that is desire worshiping the supreme lord incarnation is at the third level worshiping the supreme lord Krishna is at level 4 that is love answer firstly the first level is not force but fear bhaya and in general any categorization that is done is for clarification of concepts but reality never falls into neat conceptual categories we may have goodness passion ignorance but all of us are influenced by different modes so whenever any conceptual category is mapped on to reality we should ourselves be suspicious of any one to one direct correlation between the real world observations and conceptual categories conceptual categories are meant to help us provide to help us have a broad framework for understanding reality but there are individuals who comprise the various religious practices who participate in the various religious practices all over the world and they have their individual consciousness so to say that every single Christian all over the world is practicing religion at the level of fear is quite a is quite a blanket generalization which doesn’t take into account the variety of people who practice a particular religion now the majority of the people who practice or majority of say followers of the Abrahamic religions they are at the level of fear and desire and the majority of the teachings of those scriptures say Bible and Quran also at the level of fear and desire but that is true also of the Vedic scriptures most of the Vedic scriptures are Karmakand and as far as so there are no doubt members of these religions who are also elevated to very advanced levels Saint Francis who used to treat animals like his brothers and sisters birds and animals like brothers and sisters was an exalted devotee he is called Jesus also, Srila Prabhupada considered Jesus to be a Guru a pure devotee so no doubt there have been people who are lovers of God even in the religious traditions of the other religions and demigod worship is at the level of desire it can also be at the level of fear and to some extent there may be people who worship demigods due to a sense of duty, this is what I have been doing generation after generation and there can be exceptions where people who are pure hearted worshippers of demigods they are very rare, Srila Prabhupada when he was asked he said that it’s like a drunkard going to a drinking place, not for drinking but for delivering drunkards it’s rare but it’s possible and now the third fact that worship of the incarnations is in the mode of duty that is definitely not true because there are pure Rama Bhaktas there are pure Vishnu Bhaktas and they have been acknowledged and glorified even by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu during his times so there can be Parabhakti even at the even to the Vishnu incarnations definitely and that’s what is the characteristic required for going back to the spiritual world now there is a difference between Vishnu Bhakti and Krishna Bhakti in the sense that there is Madhurya there is Aishwarya Bhava and Madhurya Bhava but both these bhavas have the common denominator of Shuddha Bhakti and Shuddha Bhakti is actually love so Hanuman is not serving Lord Rama out of sense of duty he is serving out of a sense of pure love so there now even what to speak of Vishnu even Krishna can be worshiped by some people at the level of duty but the aspiration and the emphasis the exhaustive description the extensive description of Krishna Bhakti as we have got it from Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is primarily at the level of pure love that’s what we should focus on as devotees so these are conceptual categories to help us make sense of what we observe in terms of where we are and where others are as individuals to equate them with broad religious systems would be an oversimplification that can go towards error if we see Shuddha Bhakti anywhere we should respect that and we know that in the Gaudiya Vishnu tradition we have got very powerful support systems for rising to the highest levels of Bhakti and we can be grateful for that
