the scripture there is license for people who want to eat meat but that is a limited license in the sense that people perform sacrifices and within sacrifices they eat animals but if one kills animals without following scripture then that brings serious karmic reactions and in today’s world where most people are meat eaters there is practically no conception of animal sacrifice at all there are mass slaughterhouses wherein people just kill wherein kill animals in millions millions millions there is a animal rights activist who said that if the animals came together and they made a religion and they conceived of the devil then they would conceive the devil as a human being because humans in such horrible conditions animals are animals are made to live in slaughterhouses in factory farms slaughterhouses are the places where the animals are actually killed before that they have to grow up and they have to live a life till they are grown up enough so that they can be killed and flesh can be got so the place where they live are called as factory farms rather than living in natural conditions in order to make maximize the profit from the meat industry the animals are crushed together in small places where they are fed artificial fatteners and they are fed artificial growth accelerators by which they grow big and fat quickly and they endure horrible conditions and then they are slaughtered so this is ghastly and people live like this the Mahabharata says that all those who engage in such a in slaughter they are all culpable just as when a person commissions a murder then the bullet may be shot by a mercenary but everybody right from the person who gave the money for the murder mission the person who deputed the mercenary and the mercenary who actually shot all of them are culpable so like that in the meat industry it is not only the meat the animal killers who are culpable but the animal growers are culpable and even the meat eaters are culpable so this is pashun abhidhena labdhya this is killing slaughter of animals without considering any form of dharmic regulation and the result of this is so these people they start themselves living like bhutas and pretas and they worship ghosts and spirits now we may say that most people today don’t believe in ghosts and spirits so what to speak of worshipping ghosts and spirits however while those who consider themselves scientific don’t believe in ghosts and spirits in what is called new age spirituality there are many thinkers or many authors and many teachers who claim that they get their insights from some spirits and they say that i am simply a channel an instrument for that spirit, that spirit dictates to me and i write now whether they use the conception of some spirit channeling to them just because their writing will have more intrigue or a spirit is actually channeling to them, the point is that their books sell and people get infatuated by the ideas and most of such ideas center on the
