Bhagavatam-daily 260 – 11.12.17 – We depend on Krishna even if we deny that dependence

Thank you it is the word asked a question that is saying that i am still confused with the krishna and response is clarifying over here so so he says for the jiva here in the heart is manifested in the heart is entered pursued by the mind or controlling the mind even of the great demigod like lord shiva is subtle and i state in the form the different so matra swara and varna these are all aspects of sound of the not just about sound but of the sound it on intonations vocalic lengths so these are various attributes of speech it is the gross form so here it is said that the lord gives life to all living beings and he is present in the heart along with the life air and the primal sound vibration he is perceived within the heart in a subtle form and he controls the mind of everyone and he assumes a more accessible form a gross form as the sound of the vedas so the point of this verse is that we all have an intimate connection with krishna even when we may not realize that at present we have that connection still whatever be a situation that connection is a defining reality of our life without krishna we ourselves couldn’t exist he’s our source he’s a sustainer and if we have if you’re fortunate enough to get intelligence from guru sadhu shastra then we will understand that he’s our destination also and in that way we will be able to um realize our connection with him and learn to relish that connection we are without getting into the technicalities of the sounds over here let’s focus on the principle the principle is that we are our dependence on something that thing is not dependent on our awareness of that thing just like we are often not aware that we are breathing it’s only when somebody tries to strangle us or when we get into a place where there is a risk of loss of air at that time we start thinking i need to breathe so our dependence on air is a fact of life which is not dependent on our awareness of that fact so with respect to other bodily necessities with respect to say uh drinking water with this water or food we often have to do something conscious and intentional for ourselves that is we have to get food we have to get water and we have to drink eat or drink it now we in contrast with food and water which we put a conscious effort into getting with respect to air we don’t put any conscious effort the body just takes in air and we keep taking it in constantly so similarly it is stated here that it is indicated here although this example specifically is not given but the point is that say that we are all come from krishna and he it is not just the person who has given birth to us he’s also the person uh who has sustaining us so it is krishna says in 14.4 in the bhagavad gita he says that this is for all living beings i am the seed giving father and then in the next verse he states uh or apart from that also he’s already stated that he is not just a serian pal dhataram so he’s a dhata also this comes in 14 chapter fourth verse prior to that in 13 chapter krishna has already said purushapara that he is the bharta he’s the maintainer of all living beings now we none of us can survive without the grace of krishna although we may imagine that we can do lots of things ourselves and yes there are substantial number of things which we can do we can walk we can talk we can we can work we can achieve things yes krishna has given us also abilities by which we can do certain things but the fact is that although we can do certain things and we know that we can do certain things but we don’t know how we can do those things for example right now when i am speaking i i get a thought in my head and then i decide to verbalize it and based on my intention my voice chords move and a certain speech comes out now only if i am spectacularly ignorant will i claim that i know the full mechanism of how that sound is produced no i don’t actually speaking all i know is that i intend to speak and then certain sounds come out and those sounds are coherent so the detailed mechanism underlying how my intention causes specifically the different voice chords to move and thereby it in turn causes the sounds which comprise speech to manifest it’s something which is beyond me so here the point that is being made is krishna we are all dependent on krishna it is krishna who is the source of our life it is krishna the sustainer of our life and that same krishna who is present in our heart whom we can perceive if we are purified within us that same krishna becomes perceivable for us in a more accessible way as the vedic sounds so these vedic sounds are means by which the divine descends and becomes accessible to us and by studying the vedas by reciting the vedas in general by living our life according to the vedic scriptures we can
