CC daily 11 – CCM 4.32-36 – In lofty bhakti, the Lord shares his plight with devotee
And we will continue the analysis of the discussion in our future sessions thank you so here Krishna has appeared to Madhavendra Puri and has told him to keep the pot with him and he will come later to collect the pot etabali having spoken this much the child the Madhavendra Puri doesn't know that it's Krishna he went and he was going suddenly he disappeared he was leaving normally someone comes to meet us and that person departs we see off that person see off doesn't mean just we accompany that person till the door or some distance but also that we see with the eyes till the person has departed so now of course Madhavendra Puri was especially captivated by this child and further he was sitting in an open place nothing blocking his view so as he was sitting like this suddenly when he saw where is this child disappeared he was amazed he felt this is a miracle how can this happen it is extraordinary in his chitta in his consciousness he thought this is a astonishing phenomena it is javadkar now sometimes people think that in the past people were all very gullible and that is why they believed anything and everything and that's why they believe stories like say Krishna could lift a cow over the mountain or things like that but if you look at scripture itself scripture doesn't depict an immediate uncritical acceptance of extraordinary events we see that when Krishna lifted cow over the hill after that the Brajivasis came and asked how did this child lift this hill like this now that question itself may indicate that they knew well that this is this doesn't happen so that's why they asked how does this happen so they were aware of the natural order but they were also open-minded enough to understand that the natural order could be could be suspended by some extraordinary forces or circumstances but still they asked what were those circumstances what were those forces that's why they asked there why what did how did Krishna lift a mountain like this so similarly Madhavendra Puri he's a great devotee absorbed love for Krishna but still he's also astonished when something extraordinary happens because normally when a person is walking away it's not that the person disappears suddenly but this person had disappeared so chamatkar so miracles are not against science they are above science the against science means unscientific above science means trans-scientific when this when Krishna is walking along the law of gravity is there it is true but Krishna is a higher truth and that's why he can suddenly disappear and people can't figure out how it has happened so now he felt it was a chamatkar it was a miracle dhukta dhukta panakari bhanda dhuya rakhila bata dekhe se balak puna na aila so dhukta panakari the balak child had offered milk and bhanda dhuya rakhila so he drank the milk and afterwards as a cultured person somebody gives a gift then naturally we do what we can with it to reciprocate so madandri puri thought oh this child has brought this pot for me let me wash it and keep it so he in a cultured way washed it and kept it rakhila bata dekhe and he was waiting when will this beautiful child come back now he was of course absorbed in his remembrance of Krishna in this case he did not realize that this boy was Krishna but still he was absorbed in Krishna and also anticipating the return of this boy bata dekhe se balak puna na aila but this boy had said i'm just going to herd my cows and i'll come back but he didn't come back na aila so madandri puri was astonished well further surprised why this boy not come back and then what happened vasi naam lai puri nidra nahi hai sheshe ratre tandra hai lai bahya vritti lai vasi naam lai puri nidra nahi hai nidra nahi hai so madandri puri did not sleep vasi naam lai he was constantly taking the names of Krishna chanting the names of Krishna and sheshe ratre tandra hai lai and as the night was ending throughout the night he was so absorbed in love for Krishna he was chanting the names of Krishna bahya vritti lai bahya vritti is external consciousness lai means there was a decrease so that means there was he slightly dozed off naturally no matter how much ecstatic a person is ecstatically absorbed in Krishna a person is still the body has human physical limitations and the body needs rest so he dozed off he felt slightly sleepy and bahya vritti lai the external consciousness subsided swapne dekhe sei balak samukhe aasiyan ek ek kunje laiyan gela hate te dhariyan so he saw that swapne dekhe he saw in the dream sei balak the same child who had come samukhe aasiyan has come in front of me now ek ek kunje laiyan gela and that that child has come to me in a dream and is taking me hate te dhariyan holding my hand he took me ek ek kunje to a particular flower bowl in one of the bushes so krishna is playing so wonderfully here and krishna is reciprocating with the love of his devotees and he states kunje dekhaaya kahe amiye kunje raayi sheeta bhrishti vataagnite maha dukh payi kunje dekhaaya kahe so this boy just imagine this krishna is personally coming and taking his devotee to a secret place we can imagine what must be the ecstasy the anticipation the excitement in the heart of madhavendra puri where is my lord going to take me now and some special friend comes and says come with me i want to show you something he wants me to show so like that madhavendra puri will be eager intensely kunje dekhaaya kahe amiye kunje raayi he says that i live in this kunja now krishna is demonstrating here that there is no difference between him and his deity so he is just saying i stay here that means his deity stays there the same thing sheeta bhrishti vataagnite maha dukh payi and krishna is taking the role see oh my devotee i am homeless i am helpless please help me like somebody some poor child may come and say to a wealthy person please see this is where i am staying in such poverty in such misery please help me sheeta bhrishti vataagnite sheeta bhrishti so all natural elements sheet is cold now especially in winters it becomes terribly terribly cold bhrishti and then sometimes there are freezing winds also which happen vataagnite and then that is sheeta sheeta bhrishti is sheeta is cold sheeta bhrishti is rain shower rains vata is windy storms and agnite agnite is extreme heat so now geographically vrindavan is a place where the weather often goes into extremes and krishna is invoking the devotee to call for action by saying that in all these what happens maha dukh payi see i am suffering so much maha dukh i am enduring great misery because of being exposed to all the elements so we see the exalted level of chetan charita amrit here that instead of a devotee going to the lord and saying just see my lord how miserable i am please help me people generally go to the temple and say oh god my home my home roof is leaking i have lost my job i don't have money please help me i am staying in such pitiable conditions so that is the normal dynamic where devotees go and inform the lord not exactly devotees or we could say they are devotees but very eneophyte artho artharthi level devotees so they go and tell the lord about their plight but here the lord is coming to his devotee and taking his devotee to show him his plight so maha dukh payi i suffer greatly and now the lord will request madhavendra puri to relieve him from this misery we will discuss that in our future talks but here we can meditate on the exalted intensely personal level of the relationship between the lord and the devotee that is depicted in chatan charita amrit that the lord comes and tells the devotee his plight and asks the devotee by telling the plight he asks the devotee to relieve him of this plight this is the nature of selfless love.
