CC daily 35 – M 4.134-137 – Bow to devotion wherever it manifests
Has stolen from me, for your sake, thank you.
Shri Atanjali Tamil, Mandilina, text 134, fourth chapter, so the Pujari of Gopinath is running around in Remuna, trying to find out who is this extraordinary person to whom, for whom the Lord has stolen Kheer and he's calling out, eager for that person to come and he's saying that I have brought Kheer for you, take this Kheer, in the previous text he has said, for you, Madhavendra, the Lord has stolen Kheer, please take this Kheer and happily enjoy this, happily eat this, Bakshane means to eat, so now normally if anybody brings a sweet for us, we'll be happy to take the sweet, unless we have some diabetes or we are paranoid about weight, anybody bringing sweet for us is a matter of pleasure, but if somebody brings sweet that is Prasad of the Lord and that is something which is at itself is even more greatest source of joy, if somebody is bringing sweet which is not just Prasad but which is actually, as in the case something so special, so rare, it has been specially kept by the Lord for us, then that is an unparalleled thing, so they naturally will be delighted, they are saying there is no one in the three worlds who is as fortunate as you are Madhavendra Puri, where do we hear of the Lord stealing something like this for his devotee, so in the three worlds there is no one as fortunate as you, this is not meant to minimize others but it is meant to highlight the special extraordinaryness of the special thing that the one in the three worlds like you he is saying, the three worlds there is no one so fortunate, so we discussed earlier how if somebody has stolen something for us, then often that implicates us, that doesn't make us fortunate and we will be afraid of that sort of association, if somebody has stolen something and if we get caught with it, that person gets caught, by extension we may get caught or we may be blamed or at least our reputation will be spoiled, but when somebody steals, when the Lord steals for someone, that person's reputation doesn't get spoiled, that person's reputation gets enhanced, it's not just enhanced, it becomes immortalized, so such is the speciality of the Lord that what he does is extraordinary and here what has Krishna done, Kopinath has stolen Kheer and therefore he has made you unparalleled fortunate, fortunate in a way that is unparalleled in the three worlds, not in the three worlds, I'm hearing this, he gave his own introduction and then what happened, so the Pujari gave Sheer to him and he offered Dandavat to him, so Dandavat, why Dandavat, because he understood that this person, he said the Lord has stolen Kheer for someone, that person cannot be an ordinary person, he is an extraordinary person and it's no way, such a person should be considered, such a person should be offered all respects, so he immediately offered respects and not just a Pranam, but Dandavat Pranam, Dandavata Kaila, Dandavata Kaila, full obeisances he offered to him, so actually one's spiritual status is not known by one's external appearance, it is known by the quality of one's consciousness and often it is difficult to know the quality of one's consciousness unless the person speaks and of course sometimes people can speak also in very impressive ways and their speech may actually be quite radically at variance from their conduct in life, so therefore what is needed in the situation is proper coordination, a proper something, some external standard in terms of, not external in terms of superficial, but external in terms of objective or verifiable standard for knowing and what could be a greater standard for knowing than the Lord's own word and along with the Lord's word there are actions, so therefore from the Tattva point of view, there is the complete vindication of the extraordinary position of Madhavendra Puri and naturally the Pujari offers him obeisances. Kshire Ravruttanta Tandre Kahila Pujari, Shuni Prema Vishta Haila Shri Madhava Puri, Kshire Ravruttanta, the story about the Kheera, Tandre Kahila Pujari, so the Pujari spoke that to Madhavendra Puri and Shuni Prema Vishta Haila and on hearing this Madhavendra Puri became overwhelmed with love, Prema Vishta, Avishta means to be overwhelmed, to be completely conquered, Shuni Prema Vishta Haila, Prema Vishta Haila Madhavendra Puri, normally when someone loves us and that love is expressed in a very genuine deep way, it attracts our hearts, further if that love doesn't inspire us or rather sorry that the love doesn't, if that love is expressed in a very unexpected way, then it is even more endearing, so now Madhavendra Puri, he had this desire that the Kheer, so that he could serve the Lord and yet not at all expected the Lord would do anything like this for him and not only did the Lord do this for him, but the Lord also actually told his glory to the Pujari or told his glory through the Pujari, so the Lord had done something so special, so unforgettable, this expression of love flooded his heart, so Prema Vishta and then what did he do? and now sometimes people's reactions to extraordinary events often tells us a lot about them, so it is not Madhavendra Puri, we have decided having a chest protruding out, now looking at everyone else, thinking at all, now all of you know how great a person I am, see this has been demonstrated, not at all, you know he was just overwhelmed with love, tear, now Chetan Chattam doesn't mention how that Prema Vishta manifested in itself, but it's mentioned that the Pujari observed this, so the love was evident to the Pujari also, to the Sevak of Gopinath, that means that there were some physical manifestations of that love, there could have been tears, there can be hair standing on and there can be trembling of the body, you know the Ashtankara talked about in the The Pujari was astonished and then he says, now he must have also been wondering as the Lord, from the moment when the Lord came in the dream and this wonder must have increased as he discovered the Kheer and he was searching for the Kheer, now who is that special person and what does that special person have because of which the Lord stole Kheer for him, so now he's found that out, he's seen this person as such love, where can we find such love and what is the nature of that love, actually Krishna is controlled by him, Krishna is obliged to him, now Krishna is hungry for love and when somebody has love for him, somebody offers him that love, Krishna becomes delighted, Krishna becomes overwhelmed and so what Krishna has done is appropriate, it is perfect and thinking like this, the Pujari felt ecstatic to be a part of this ecstatic pastime between the Lord and his intimate devotee Madhavendra Puri, thank you.
