Don’t those who convert by force justify that they are saving others from eternal damnation?
Question from Subhash Prabhu this is about a Gita daily article conversion by force doesn't expand faith, it reduces faith that one reason why people convert others to their religion is because in their religion they believe that there is eternal damnation and that they are saving those who are converted from eternal hell answer yeah this is maybe a nominal motive for some religionists but actually if they go into their own, deeply into their philosophy firstly from some, from broad enlightened interpretations of their religion the whole concept of eternal damnation is questionable but even if that is accepted the saving from eternal damnation doesn't happen by just converting externally to a particular religion, one has to accept internally as an act of faith and that act of faith cannot be brought about by force so those who convert like this they may say that they are saving conditioned souls they don't use the word conditioned souls, they use kafirs or they use the word pagans or whatever be the word they use they may say that we are saving them from hell but actually that's just a cover up for their expansionist socio-political ambitions they are agreed basically to have more power, more territory, more followers so even within their religious existence, the saving from hell happens when a person consciously and voluntarily chooses to accept the particular religion's founder or principal teacher as a saviour and accepts to surrender to God, so that sort of voluntary movement of the heart towards God cannot be brought about by force and that can be brought about only by intelligent and experiential outreach and that is what the Bhagavad Gita does so people may use religious pretensions to justify their use of force but these are simply pretensions and they do not actually justify that act in order that they actually benefit the followers thank you we are so afraid.
