Gauranga Shata Nama 11 – Offer the heart to our supreme pati
Thank you.
So, Kauranga Shatanaam, the list of the characters of the holy places of the islands of Navadweep continues here in the 11th verse. Koladweepapati. The island of Koladweep represents Padasevanam, the service of the lotus feet.
Now, Padasevanam is represented by Lakshmidevi. And Lakshmidevi is manifests in Lord Chaitanya's pastimes as Vishnupriya. So, after Lord Chaitanya took sannyas and renounced the world, Vishnupriya stayed in a house over here and there is a beautiful temple of hers also here.
So, she would practically, she would chant the holy names of her Lord 108 times and then take one grain and like that the number of names, number of rounds she would chant, that many grains she would cook and eat. So, such was her complete absorption in the Lord and her utter self-obligation. So, this is how she, by remembrance and devotion and sacrifice, worshipped her beloved Lord.
So, that echo of that place where Lakshmipriya, where Vishnupriya worshipped her pati, Lord Chaitanya is the pati of that whole place. He is often known as Jagatpati. But specifically, in this particular place, he was worshipped as her pati, as her, as the master, as the Lord, as the beloved husband in separation by Vishnupriya, Devi.
So, actually the Lord is our pati also. He is the supreme master and to the extent if we offer ourselves to him, to that extent, he offers himself to us and our heart becomes flooded with supreme devotion. So, here it is described that he is the Lord of Lords.
He is the pati, Rtudweepapati, Kuladweepapati in Rtudweep Maheshwar. Rtudweep is the place where which represents Archanam. Archanam is especially deity worshipped.
So, in deity worship various paraphernalia are taken and are offered to the Lord who manifests as his deity and when the devotees are directly associating with the Lord at that time they directly offer paraphernalia to the Lord. So, in this place Rtudweep Champaklata Sakhi used to collect Champak flowers and she would offer them to Krishna through Radharani. So, Maheshwara.
So, that Lord who is accepted as the master by his devotees and who manifested both himself as the Lord and as the devotee. He is the Maheshwara. Rtudweep Maheshwara and then So, Janudweep represents Vandanam specifically offering prayers.
Then Modhadrumreep represents Dasyam. There is the birthplace of and then there is Modhadrum. Rudradweep is the name of Ishwara.
Rudradweep by Lord Chaitanya's mercy the Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir is manifested where magnificent sized deities of Panchatattva as well as Radha, Madhava, Shastra, Sakhi are there being worshipped. This is the place that represents Sakhyam. So, these nine islands of Navadweep represent the nine islands of devotional service and they all give us the opportunity to absorb ourselves in devotional service just by going there and further by performing devotional service over there and further by remembering the Lord who was devotional service personified practically.
Radharani is devotional service personified and Lord Chaitanya was Krishna in the mood of Radharani. So, by seeking His blessings we can all become enriched in devotional service and His supreme blessing manifests as His as the holy names and by meditating on the Lord and His pastimes and His pastime places the the Lord becomes more real and vivid and concrete for us and then when we chant His names when we treasure the gift that He has given us in the form of the holy names that becomes more real for us and our chanting becomes more reciprocal and personal and devotional and thus we progress faster in our devotional journey towards Krishna.
