Now, normally Kirtan is a sweet, melodious, intensely devotional but Kirtan is also a weapon of transformation and not just a weapon of individual transformation of the heart but it can also be a weapon of social galvanization and transformation. So, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu He manifested a loyal-like fury when He was performing Nagar Sankirtan publicly for the first time in Navadvip. That happened initially the devotees were performing Sankirtan privately in their mostly in Srivastava's house.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu would dance and other devotees would sit. But then once when the local Qazi came and broke the Mridanga and threatened the devotees and told them that they should stop the Sankirtan henceforth. So, Lord Chaitanya was furious at this interruption in the Sankirtan and He said that we will protest against this.

And the way they protested was by rising in determination. In union under the guidance of Lord Chaitanya hundreds and hundreds and thousands of devotees assembled and they marched in in non-cooperation in a non-cooperation protest to the place of Qazi. So, at that time Lord Chaitanya was in a mood of fury like a lion just as Narasimhadev was furious when Prahlad was threatened.

Similarly, Lord Chaitanya was furious when His devotees were threatened. And in fact Lord Chaitanya and Narasimhadev were non-different and it was the same Lord Chaitanya who manifested as Narasimhadev and when the Qazi was sleeping that night after having broken the mridangam and threatened the devotees and stopped the Kirtans so the Lord Narasimha Lord Chaitanya Narasimha Nagara Kirtanasi came and came in His room at night and caught Him by the neck and shook Him and dragged Him off the bed and shook the life out of Him and told Him that the Qazi was so scared to death not knowing what to do against this fearsome form and this awesome power that was exhibited by the form. Qazi was no coward but he realized that he is no match to this and he cowered and begged for forgiveness and then Narasimhadev forgave him and told him that you only threatened but you did not actually do anything wrong, anything terrible.

If you do that the next time I will come and I will kill you. So this itself jolted and shook and began the transformation of the Qazi and the next day when Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went on the next night when Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went on the Harinam they went all around Naudip and marched towards the house of Qazi and there Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the Qazi was initially scared and hid in his house but then Narasimhadev insisted and they met and Narasimhadev and the Qazi apologized for interrupting the Kirtan and he asked some questions on comparative religion based on Quran and Vedas and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu answered all of them so convincingly that the Qazi was transformed. So Qazi udhara and Qazi also realized Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's speciality, sublimity, divinity and the Qazi also became a devotee.
