Gauranga Shata Nama 07 – The follower of dharma becomes the relisher of the para dharma

So Aryadharma Kapal Pitr Gaya Pindadata, so as a part of his duty to his ancestors, he went to Pitr Gaya, he went to Gaya and Pindadata, he performed a sacrifice or he did a Pindadaan for them over there. Now Pindadaan is something which can be done at various places but some places are considered especially potent and going there to do one's duty to one's ancestors is considered special, it is meritorious.

So there are some traditions like the Shinto tradition where ancestors themselves are worshipped directly, this is not what is being talked about here, this is not the worship of ancestors but it is worship for ancestors, it is worship by which the ancestors will be benefited, so that is one of the duties of Aryan and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did that and then actually that was only the external reason, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has come to give the Paradharma of pure Bhakti and he was slowly revealing his plan for that purpose. Puri Shishya Madhvacharya Sampradaya Pata, Puri Shishya, he took initiation from Madhavendapur disciple Ishwara Puri, so they had met earlier once when Ishwara Puri had come to Navadvip, he had come and even taken Prasad at the house of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had been impressed by his devotion, Ishwara Puri had been impressed with Nirmal Pandit's scholarship and Ishwara Puri had blessed him, may you become a Vaishnava in future and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at that time had been performing scholarly pastimes, immersed in the nectar of learning rather than the nectar of devotion, he had said now that I have got the blessings of a Vaishnava like you, surely it will come true. So he went to Gaya and then normally Gaya is thought of as a holy place for Buddhists but along with that it is also a holy place for Vaishnavas because there are the special, the feet of Lord Vishnu are there and Nirmal when he saw that he felt, he felt a shot of spiritual energy permeating through ecstasy and he felt very attracted and at that time Ishwara Puri came there and he surrendered at the feet of Ishwara Puri and Ishwara Puri initiated a Purushishya, Madhavacharya Sampradaya Patha and in this way he became connected to Madhva Sampradaya.

Ishwara Puri, his spiritual master Madhavendra Puri was initiated in Madhva Sampradaya and the Madhavacharya Sampradaya Patha, Patha means protector, so Chaitanya Mahaprabhu protected the Siddhantic conclusions against the misconclusions of Mayavada and in this way he protected the Sampradaya itself. Fulfilled the purpose of the historical progressive revelation that was going on for multiple centuries which culminated in his sharing the Siddhanta of Pachinta Veda Veda. So here Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is receiving the mantra and the holy name from Sri Ishwara Puri and it is that gift which Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gives to all of us.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came with a garland from the spiritual world and in this garland, the necklace, he garlanded the whole earth itself and that was the garland of the holy name. So that is the gift that we all have and we have got it through Sampradaya and we can all relish the nectar of the gift more if we value also the nectarian nature of the gift giver. So the giver is the nectar and the gift is nectar and by the combined mercy of the giver and the gift the heart of the receiver, that is the heart of all of us can also become filled with nectar.
