thank you lord Krishna is continuing to instruct Uddhava over here and he is describing the consciousness of a realized transcendentalist which a person is is the well-wisher of all living beings is deeply profoundly unshakably peaceful what is the basis of that peacefulness with both theoretical and experiential knowledge one has understood what is that one has understood one is able to see that so understand means to actually see when we see ourselves see with our spiritual vision that the whole universe is within the supreme lord all living beings are within him that means they are part of him they are in his control and ultimately their actions are within his jurisdiction their actions will be integrated within his plan by his inconceivable intelligence such a person will not undergo the adversities the miseries and especially this doesn’t necessarily mean that there will be no miseries in the life of such a person but rather that person will not go on enduring the miseries of repeated birth and death in the samsara chakra so once one understands parmadatmakam vishwam one can understand that everything is connected and controlled by the supreme lord then the fragmental vision along with the fear that it brings things are uncoordinated and chaotic and therefore I have to look after myself that vision that conception which makes us rely on ourselves and due to that reliance often we entertain or even foster defiance towards the lord not necessarily by denying his existence or denigrating him but by just subconsciously or even consciously thinking that he doesn’t help and therefore he doesn’t really matter we think that if my situation is to be improved that responsibility is wholly on me because god is not looking after things so I have to look after them and when we think in this way then the time we spent in purifying ourselves and connecting with god in meditating on Krishna all that seems irrelevant and even wasteful but when we with proper spiritual understanding recognize that Krishna gives free will to living entities and respects their free will but at the same time Krishna is present with the super soul and Krishna wants to guide everyone in the right path and because Krishna is the greatest well-wisher and benefactor of everyone if we cooperate with his plan then we too can become the cooperators well-wishers and benefactors of everyone that’s why sarvabhut suhruj just as Krishna is as Bhagavad Gita 5.29 describes similarly the soul who acts on behalf of Krishna also becomes sarvabhut suhruj such soul also becomes the compassionate well-wisher of all living beings and when one understands that yes the lord’s plan is ultimately in action and what I have to do is to play my part within that plan then one becomes shanta, this shanti is not because of passivity but it is because of harmony because we recognize this, whatever I can do I am doing it best by cooperating with the plan of the lord and then with this understanding that we are meant to cooperate with the plan of the lord our meditation time doesn’t seem to be like a waste but rather it becomes a vital reconnection and renewal and re-harmonization tool because it is during our meditation that we connect seriously with Krishna and by that reconnection with Krishna we are able to realign with him and whatever misalignment has happened because of the mind’s inevitable desires and distractions we can correct that misalignment by the exclusive focus on Krishna that meditation offers and by thus realigning ourselves with Krishna we can do the best that is best for our own good and for others good and when we act in this way then again we won’t have to suffer in metal existence because the whole purpose of metal existence is to reform those souls who want to enjoy separate from Krishna and when a soul decides to live in cooperation with Krishna then there is no need for that soul to stay on in metal existence and that soul becomes freed ultimately from the miseries of metal existence and transitionally also while we are in the metal world working out the final remnants of our karma and bringing about the final levels of purification then the inevitable miseries of metal existence may come but they will not make us as miserable as they would have otherwise because we won’t be emotionally entangled in matter because we will be able to see the events happening in our life not as disconnected arbitrary dangerous events but as parts of the lord’s plan and thereby we will be able to stay undisturbed and focused on Krishna
