We believe in the existence of God Krishna from Bhagavad Gita and succession of Guru-Shishya Parampara. But since it’s a belief and God is the devotee of Lord Shiva, they also have their own beliefs and they also have their own parampara.
So, isn’t that also a belief? Yes. Ultimately, nobody can live without any beliefs. Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita, शद्धा नयम्यं पुरुष्य योवे च्रद्ध सदेव सिभाव। Different people have different beliefs and whatever our beliefs are, accordingly, our existence will be shaped.
So, now, what can we do? Is it that anybody can believe anything and that is what is true? No. As I mentioned earlier, प्रसात्ति के लाजसे के तामसिक पुरुष्य. And even the Tamasic scriptures, when we talk about drinking bhang or they talk about eating flesh, that does not mean that it’s all nonsense.
It’s all scripture. And whatever is scripture, there is a tradition for giving that. So, the question is, whether that tradition is directing us towards pure love of God.
Generally, if you see the worship of Lord Shiva, even when they are coming in parampara, their focus is not on pure devotion of Lord Shiva. They worship Shiva for getting things from Him. So, that means, when we look at beliefs, yes, different people can have different beliefs, but look at the quality of the belief.
Look at the depth of the philosophy, the depth of the devotion that is talked about through that belief, in that system of belief. And ultimately, there is realization. So, yes, the worship of Lord Shiva will also get realizations.
And as they keep worshiping Lord Shiva, if somebody worships Lord Shiva very purely, then what will happen? Most people worship Lord Shiva for materialistic things. But if somebody worships Lord Shiva purely, then it is said that Lord Shiva will come in the time of death and chant the name of Lord Mahatma in the year. You know, in Varanasi it is said that even if he dies, a person is in liberation.
Why? Lord Shiva is sitting with Vishwanath. What does he do? He comes and chants the name of Lord Mahatma. So, we know that Lord Shiva, we don’t see Krishna with any japa mara.
Isn’t it? Krishna is playing his flute. He is Rasa Raj. You see, Lord Shiva is sitting in meditation.
Lord Shiva has bead rolls sometimes. He chants. So, Parvati Devi asked, there are so many people, millions of people in the world who are chanting your names.
Whose names are you chanting? What are you chanting? What are you meditating on? So, what did Lord Shiva reply? Ram, Ram, Rame, Tirame, Rame, Manorame, Savasanaam, Tattulyam, Ramanaam, Varaname. Oh, Parvati Devi, I am chanting the name of Lord Ram. And these names purify me.
These names, they give a great joy to my heart. Manorame. My mind and heart are delighted.
So, we don’t have to feel insecure. And nor do we have to say that what they are doing is wrong. And remember, it’s not a question of right and wrong.
It’s a matter of progression and being situated at the right level for which we can progress. So, we are fortunate enough to have come in contact with Krishna. We have got the elementary to know.
Some other people, according to the culture that they have been exposed to, they have got the standard. And they are also knowing that. So, the religious system that is there in the parampara, through them, that is enabling them also to move up and we appreciate that.
So, we are not intolerant. We are not saying that everybody has to worship Krishna. But, if somebody wants the highest destination and somebody wants to go to the highest destination in the fastest possible way, then Krishna worship is recommended.
If people want to worship Aditya Yogas, that is not wrong. That is also scriptural. But that is not the highest.
Does that answer the question?
