CC daily 6 – CCM 4.13-15 – Devotion grants entry into the world of loving reciprocation

Thank you So in describing Lord Chaitanya's tour from Shantipur to Nilagri to Nilachal Krishna's Kaviraj Goswami has described how Lord Chaitanya reached Remunan That he described in the previous verse And now what Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did in Remunan is mentioned So at Remunan, Gopinatha Paramamohan That was the deity of Gopinatha which was Paramamohan Which is supremely attractive You know when we go to a place We are attracted according to our interests Somebody comes to Mumbai and then they go to the Gateway of India Or they may go to a particular hotel or somewhere That depends on what objective they have come for And accordingly they will consider that place to place is important Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was on a spiritual tour And for him the primary interest was spiritual So for him the most important thing in the place was the temples And there was a famous temple of Gopinath And this Gopinath deity was Paramamohan And we can also evaluate when we go to a place what is it that we are most eager for And by that we can understand how our attachments, our interests Are being reshaped by bhakti Devotees may travel around the world But often they don't go to see the sites They go primarily to give spiritual sight to people Nrsila Prabhupada would sometimes go to Eiffel Tower and other places But there also he would focus not on seeing the sites But he was giving spiritual sight He was telling people how there is He was instructing his disciples how what was considered so materially significant Is not all that significant And in that way he was not just having sight, doing sightseeing But he was giving sight Chaitanya Mahaprabhu also in his travelling His priorities are seen by What did he do in Vrindavan? He saw, he took darshan The video is very beautiful Paramamohan And so Chaitanya Mahaprabhu already was Had so much devotion in the heart So that devotion flooded out from his heart Bhakti kari, Kaila Prabhu So with great devotion Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did what? Tantra darshan He beheld this beautiful form of You know, this was actually The purpose and perfection of Lord Chaitanya's tour He was going to see Krishna And wherever he could behold the beautiful form of Krishna That gave him great fulfillment He was delighted to see this magnificent form of Krishna 14th verse now describes Under that the deity of Gopinath He went right close and offered obeisances So he was a sanyasi He was so charismatic So the pujari also allowed him to go right into the sanctum sanctorum Into the altar practically And he was nearly touching the feet of The deity So his head was so close And he offered his obeisances Heart was overflowing with devotion And as he offered his obeisances And then he was offering his devotion with such Fervency that Gopinath had to offer something in return Gopinath is a person, he's a loving person He wants love And when he gets love He wants to offer love in return So he saw the immense devotion of Lord Chaitanya And the devotion which he was offering Gopinath felt inspired to offer something in return And he did a minor miracle What did he offer in return? Chuda generally refers to that which is on the head Like we have chuda is the crest jewel So pushpa chuda means the crest of flowers So that means the flowers that were there on the crest on the head So the crown of flowers, padila, it fell And Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's feet were right next to the lotus feet So when this flower garland, this decorative flower On the head it fell It fell right on his head So it was Generally when we bow down, the person to whom we bow down That person touches our head and offers his blessings So similarly here what is happening is He's offering blessings Offering blessings, blessings So those blessings are offered in the form of a flower So we see such an amazing reciprocation The lord is Normally we offer things and the lord gives blessings We offer something intangible And the lord offers something intangible Of course the blessings are supremely tangible from the spiritual perspective But usually we may not get a flower falling on our head or something like that That does not mean that we are not getting the blessings We are still getting blessings But here we see the extraordinariness of the blessing that lord Chaitanya is getting And what is that blessing? That the lord He offered Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was a sannyasi So he had practically nothing to offer to the lord except his devotion So he offered something intangible But the lord was so pleased That in order to demonstrate his glory to everyone The lord offered something tangible And that was the flower which fell from his head onto the head of lord Chaitanya So this is the head-to-head transfer of mercy that happened And Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was delighted As inscribed in the next verse 15th verse Chudapana Mahaprabhu ra anandita mana Bahum tyagita kaila lana bhakta gana So Chudapana I mean Chaitanya Mahaprabhu got the flower ornament And Chudapana Mahaprabhu ra anandita mana His mind became jubilant Oh how fortunate am I How merciful is my lord What a precious, special, treasured, cherished gift I have got And lord Chaitanya naturally felt Oh the lord is giving me something special I must give him something special What can I give him? Now I am his servant And what I can offer him is my service What is the service I can do? I can dance for him I can sing for him That is actually the mood of a servant To do whatever it takes for the pleasure of one's beloved So bahum tyagita kaila So he did a lot of dancing and singing But he was completely exhausted Normally when we dance in front of someone It's assumed that that person is glorious And I am a simple servant I am a servant I am an entertainer I am entertaining a great person So in that mood here The lord Chaitanya wanted to reciprocate with a special mercy Which Gopinath had bestowed And so bahum tyagita kaila It was not just a small ritual dance A long time he danced Using all his energy for Please for making an offering that would please him Please Gopinath And he danced not alone Kaila Lanna Lanna bhakta gana He actually His devotee associates were also there with him And together they all offered Lord Gopinath Their dance So here we see this amazing loving reciprocation Chaitanya Mahaprabhu offers his devotion Gopinath offers his flower garland Velvet Flower crown And Lord Chaitanya offers his dancing and singing In this way Through this ongoing loving reciprocation The ecstasy increased more and more What was the effect of that ecstasy on others And how the pastime unfolded We'll discuss in our next talk.
