Gita 08.06 – Change your contempation during meditation to change your destination after destruction
First two vowels in it so that is Bhava Bhavata important verse from the Bhagavan's how that is what we attain in our post-mortem existence this has been preceded by a specific and most important application of this principle that is remember Krishna remember Krishna that if you remember Krishna at the time of death you will return back to Krishna so this verse will be succeeded by verses which talk about the importance of remembering Krishna so that verse talks about how do you prepare for death the principle of what happens to us after death is talked about in the previous verse and this verse says always remember me but then Krishna also says fight fight fight now is Krishna asking everyone to fight? no Prabhupada explains that he is asking everyone to do their prescribed duties for Arjuna the duty is to fight by dedicating your mind and intelligence to me you will come back to me so that means general principle is preceded by a specific application and is succeeded by an exaltation to apply that specific application so this principle of essentially demonstrates how the principle of reciprocation extends beyond even this life earlier in 4.11 Krishna has said that as people surrender to me I reward them accordingly but then he says that all people are on my path what he means by that is ultimately whoever whatever is that person attracted to whoever is attracted to whatever thing that person is attracted to a manifestation of Krishna and that is everyone is attracted to Krishna so goal is to attain Krishna that is known to some people most people think of those manifestations of Krishna as the ultimate goal and they keep pursuing that so now whatever a person is pursuing that person will attain that they will attain Krishna because they are not thinking about Krishna that means if somebody is attracted to the beautiful natural scenery of say a sun rising through advances the sea or a sunrise on a on a sea coast what happens by that by that that person does not directly remember Krishna, that is a sub-pramani attraction and that will make one think about the deeper truths of life but still that alone will not take a person back to Krishna so basically Krishna reciprocates with and accommodates our desires by guiding people back to him if they want to come or by letting people go to the destinations that they have expressed their desires for so this verse reminds us of the gravity of our desires in determining our destiny if we understand this then we can actually work towards rectifying our desires purifying our desires elevating our desires overall redirecting our desires from nature to Krishna and such a redirection is the result of the process of chanting and it is also the process of chanting that means that when we chant and remember Krishna sincerely at the end of this remembrance the successful result will be that our desires will get redirected towards Krishna at the same time the intermediate result will be that such desires will be will be what we will have to cultivate to some extent according to our capacity this is also the redirection is also the process of bhakti yoga because even while practicing bhakti yoga our desires will distract us and we will need to redirect them so therefore bhakti yoga offers us glimpse of the glory of Krishna and it also eventually takes us towards relishing the full glory of Krishna so for practicing bhakti yoga seriously it's good that we be faithful to Krishna and faithful to our own nature because being faithful to our own nature we are able to get our specific contribution that we could have made in our own small way to Krishna's mission that contribution becomes more ready more real more manageable, more achievable and we can move forward confidently in life.
