Are the vanaras of Ramayana similar to the monkeys on earth today?

Question Are the Vanaras and Ramlila like the monkeys that we have on the planet today or are they different Answer If you look at the description of the Ramayana certainly some of the monkeys are definitely different they are far far more powerful than even the giant monkeys that we know about much bigger monkeys that are there on the planet so from the point of physical dimensions some of the monkeys are formidable and if you look at the overall understanding of the Vedic universe then Vanaras are considered a separate species so they are called as celestial apes so that means certainly there may be some monkeys among them who are like ordinary monkeys not every single one of the monkeys is in the Ramayana as described to be a formidable hero he is some of the monkeys are certainly very powerful others are more like soldiers just like in a Kshatriya army it is not that every single Kshatriya is a Maharatha there will be ordinary food soldiers also so there may be some monkeys who are like normal residents of the planet on earth that we see right now but in general the Vanaras are clearly different because they speak they are intelligent they have human like emotions and the Vanaras are considered a distinctive species itself so among these Vanaras there are some who are expansions of the gods so Indra expands as Vali and sorry Indra expands as Vali and Surya expands as Sugriva and like that there are various Hanuman is of course an expansion of Shiva so in this way there are various Devatas who are also expanded as these Vanaras that means though there may be some monkeys among these like the monkeys that we know but broadly speaking those are far more formidable monkeys who belong to a different species at least a distinctive species that is called the Vanara species and it is filled with celestial apes and they have far greater physical prowess and far higher intelligence levels than what we see in the monkeys of today so that on an overall level seems almost equivalent to that of human beings and in the cases of many of the monkeys who are expansions of the Devatas that their level of physical prowess and their level of intelligence is even higher than that of human beings so it would be quite inaccurate to say that the monkeys in Ramlila are equivalent to the monkeys that we see on the planet today so then why are those sort of monkeys not present on the planet today actually Kali Yuga brings about a quarantine in the universe because as Kali Yuga progresses the residents of Kali Yuga on the earth are understood to be infected by Kali Kali Yuga doesn’t affect all the whole universe directly because in different parts of the universe different rates of time flow are observed Kali Yuga is primarily for our earthly system and when Kali infects the residents of the earth the infected person is kept quarantined so that isolated so that that person’s infection doesn’t spread to others similarly the residents of earth are kept quarantined so that their infection doesn’t spread to others and that’s why generally in earth we don’t see the interaction of the celestial beings of any sort whether it is devas or vanaras or any of these things with earthly beings but in general they are different beings vanaras are different beings from the normal monkeys that we see on earth today.
